216: Chapter 216 The MV is finally released

The car drove through the city's twilight.

Shen Qingxue leaned back in her seat, the bouquet of white roses in her arms resting right on her knees.

She lowered her head to look for a few seconds, then reached out and mindlessly flicked one of the flowers.

The corners of her mouth unconsciously curled up slightly.

Out of the corner of his eye, Lu Li caught this movement, feeling a surge of immense joy in his heart.

Before long, the car stopped at the entrance of the residential complex. Lu Li killed the engine and turned to look at her.

"We've arrived."

Shen Qingxue let out an "Mn," unbuckled her seatbelt, but didn't get out of the car immediately.

She sat in the passenger seat holding the bouquet for two seconds, then turned her head, her gaze falling on his face.

"Lu Li."

"Hm?"

"I'm very happy today, really."

Her tone didn't carry any deliberate emphasis or extra embellishment, but precisely because of that, it appeared exceptionally sincere.

Lu Li was stunned for a moment, then smiled.

"Then in the days to come, I'll try my best to keep you happy."

Shen Qingxue didn't reply, just gave him a soft smile, then pushed open the car door and got out.

Lu Li hurriedly locked the car, took quick steps to catch up, and walked into the residential area side by side with her.

Compared to before, the atmosphere between the two of them was completely different now—very natural, very relaxed, and very grounded.

After returning home.

Shen Qingxue changed her shoes, carried the bouquet into the living room, and stood by the coffee table for a moment, preparing to find a suitable place to display it.

Lu Li came out of the kitchen with a glass of water, and seeing her still gesturing about the position there, he couldn't help laughing.

"If you don't know where to put it, how about putting it in the bedroom? It would be nice to hug it to sleep every day, I'm just afraid you won't be able to sleep from excitement."

Shen Qingxue turned her head to look at him, her earlobes turning slightly red, but her tone remained relatively calm.

"No way, putting it in the living room is fine. If I put it in the bedroom, wouldn't you not be able to see it?"

Lu Li originally wanted to retort that he could just pop into her bedroom for a look later.

But thinking better of it, that would make it seem like he was specifically aiming for her bedroom, so forget it.

"Alright, the living room it is. You have the final say."

Lu Li didn't insist further and sat down on the sofa.

Then he watched as she carefully inserted the white roses from the bouquet into an empty vase one by one.

After adjusting the angle, she finally placed the vase near the photos taken during "Heartbeat 72 Hours".

Shen Qingxue took two steps back, tilted her head to appraise it, and nodded in satisfaction.

Only then did she turn around, walk over to the sofa, and sit down beside Lu Li.

The two of them sat right next to each other like that, surprisingly without making any moves, either scrolling on their phones or sitting quietly.

Lu Li also inexplicably felt a bit awkward inside.

He wanted to hold her little hand, steal a little kiss... but he was afraid of being too abrupt and didn't know where to start.

He could only say that having no experience made him truly nervous, having no clue what to do or what actions to take after getting together.

The sky outside the window had completely darkened.

"Ahem, by the way, what do you want for dinner? Should I take you out for a fancy meal later?"

Lu Li suddenly remembered and turned to look at her.

Shen Qingxue shook her head, then stood up from the sofa.

"No need. As for today... I'm already very satisfied. Compared to those fancy meals, I actually want to eat what you cook."

Hearing this, Lu Li was stunned for a moment, but he quickly reacted.

"It's not out of the question. Wait a moment, and you're not allowed to come and help me later."

Lu Li quickly stood up and headed to the kitchen a step ahead of her, fearing he would be a step too slow.

Shen Qingxue couldn't help smiling as she watched his back as he tied his apron.

"Alright then, I want scallion oil noodles."

She didn't stand on ceremony with him either. After stating what she wanted to eat, she sat back down on the sofa and took out her phone.

"Alright, then you wait a moment."

A voice came from the kitchen.

Shen Qingxue didn't reply further, casting her attention onto the screen, where an unread message was sitting.

It was sent by Jiang Cheng.

"The first rough cut is out. Do you guys want to take a look first? If you have any opinions, I can still adjust it tomorrow."

Shen Qingxue tapped open that message, glanced towards the kitchen direction, and saw Lu Li standing in front of the stove chopping vegetables.

Afterwards, she lowered her head and typed a reply.

"Send it over. Lu Li and I will watch it together later."

Not long after the message was sent, Jiang Cheng quickly replied with a video file followed by a voice message.

Shen Qingxue tapped the voice bar, and could clearly hear that Jiang Cheng's voice carried a hint of hoarseness and some fatigue.

"The rough cut version, I feel it's pretty good. You guys take a look later to see how it feels. Remember to give feedback, and I'll modify wherever it's wrong."

Shen Qingxue didn't rush to open the video.

Until Lu Li brought out two bowls of noodles from the kitchen and sat down at the dining table, she spoke up.

"Jiang Cheng sent over the rough cut of 'hair like snow'."

Lu Li had just picked up his chopsticks, but hearing this, he put them down again and wiped his hands.

"So fast? Then let's take a look."

Shen Qingxue paused, moved her stool next to Lu Li's, and then sat down right beside him.

Afterwards, she placed her phone in the center of the dining table and tapped to play the video.

The moment the screen lit up, both of them fell silent in unison.

Jiang Cheng's editing style appeared much more subdued than she herself did.

The opening featured a slow push-in shot; Shen Qingxue's back stood in the center of a dry landscape courtyard, her skirt hem blown by the wind, and a few withered leaves drifting down from the top of the frame.

Without cumbersome transitions, the emotions of the visuals and the music were completely synchronized, with every rhythm point hitting precisely at the right moment.

Lu Li's gaze stayed fixed on the screen the entire time, completely mesmerized.

Until the very last line of lyrics ended and the screen gradually faded to dark, he leaned back against the chair and let out a long breath.

"Holy shit... This is shot way too awesome, right? Spending just that tiny bit of money and pulling off such an awesome MV..."

He let out a heartfelt exclamation.

Of course, this MV still couldn't compare to those shot by professional teams.

It's just that relative to the low-budget field, this could already be considered the cream of the crop among boutiques.

Afterwards, Shen Qingxue rewound the video to watch the key parts once more before putting down her phone and picking up her chopsticks.

"It's indeed much better than expected. Jiang Cheng's aesthetic has high recognition; this style is also very easy to go viral on today's short-video platforms."

"We definitely have to give this a good review, and then... by the way, have her put the MV for 'blue and white porcelain' on the agenda too?"

"There's no rush for that. Let her finish the official version of 'hair like snow' first. Anyway, the MV needs to be released after the song drops, so we don't need to rush this much yet."

Lu Li thought for a moment and nodded.

"Alright then, anyway I don't have any objections, just listening to you is fine."
