220: Chapter 220 I plan to go check out his band.
After a moment of silence, Lu Li quickly asked another question, his tone casual.
"Do you write songs yourself usually? Or do you just handle the singing?"
Xu Ran shook his head and gave a bitter smile.
"I basically don't write songs, at most just cover things. Lately, our band has been covering your songs quite a lot; after all, you're famous for song-writing now."
Lu Li touched his nose, feeling unusually embarrassed.
"You flatter me."
Jiang Cheng walked ahead for a bit, then stopped and glanced back.
"What are you two chatting about back there? Walk slower, I think that corner up ahead looks nice, come over and take a look."
The few of them walked over and stopped at the corner.
Jiang Cheng raised her phone, took a photo of the corner, then looked down at the result and nodded in satisfaction.
"This side works too; it can serve as an option for transition shots later."
Afterward, the four of them walked along the riverbank for a bit more and strolled through several nearby alleys.
Until the sun rose higher and the temperature gradually grew hot, did they find a riverside teahouse to sit down and rest.
The teahouse was not large, with wooden tables and chairs placed against the windows. Right outside the window was the river, and occasionally tour boats could be seen passing by slowly.
Facing such a scene, Lu Li couldn't help but sigh that it hadn't become popular yet.
Jiang Cheng ordered a pot of Biluochun tea, and casually asked for a few plates of peanuts, melon seeds, and desserts. After putting down the menu, she raised her head to look at Shen Qingxue.
"By the way, after your Grand Finals, besides the blue and white porcelain MV, do you have any other plans?"
Shen Qingxue picked up her teacup, took a sip, and then put it down.
"Not for now. We plan to finish these two MVs first and then see how things go."
"That is pretty good too. Anyway... if there are still jobs in the future, feel free to look for me. Acquaintances give acquaintance prices, after all."
"I think so too, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future."
Shen Qingxue nodded and smiled.
The few of them chatted a bit more about the shooting details.
Jiang Cheng took out her tablet, marked the locations they had just walked on the map, and casually drew a few route maps.
Lu Li leaned against the back of his chair, quietly drinking tea, his gaze occasionally falling outside the window to look at the river surface.
At this moment, Xu Ran's gaze also paused on Lu Li for a moment.
"Teacher Lu, would it be convenient to add WeChat? I am quite proficient at guitar, bass, and drums. If you guys need it later, you can also look for me."
He paused and added with a smile,
"Of course, just like Jiang Cheng, giving an acquaintance price is fine."
Seeing this, Lu Li did not hesitate; he took out his phone, opened the QR code, and handed it over.
"Alright, let's add each other."
The two scanned the codes and saved their respective notes.
Lu Li looked at the newly added contact avatar on the screen, and that strange feeling in his heart still refused to dissipate.
But what could be certain was that he had already settled on one matter in his heart.
After adding WeChat, Xu Ran did not stay long.
"Then I won't disturb you guys anymore. You can chat slowly. I still need to go back to my friend's side; I have a rehearsal scheduled for the afternoon."
He stood up and nodded again to Lu Li and Shen Qingxue.
"See you later."
"Okay, see you later."
Jiang Cheng saw him to the entrance of the teahouse. Xu Ran got on the shared bicycle he came on and rode away along the riverbank.
After seeing him off, she quickly walked back and sat down, picked up her teacup and took a sip.
The few of them sat in the teahouse for a while longer, finished discussing the remaining matters, and then dispersed.
Lu Li and Shen Qingxue slowly walked back along the riverbank.
Neither of them was in a rush to speak; they just held hands like that, walking quietly side by side.
Enjoying this moment of peace.
After walking for about a few hundred meters, Lu Li suddenly slowed his pace.
"Hey, let me tell you something."
Shen Qingxue tilted her head and glanced at him, waiting for him to continue.
"Hm?"
"I want to go check out Xu Ran's band. Suddenly I have some thoughts about his band."
Shen Qingxue's expression was somewhat surprised.
"Why are you suddenly interested in this?"
"There's no special reason, just... want to go take a look."
Lu Li thought for a moment and made his words sound as casual as possible.
"Those people being able to persist in making music until now definitely have some skills. I want to see what level they really are at."
Shen Qingxue didn't reply immediately; she walked quietly for a few steps before speaking.
"Could it be that you... want to write songs for them?"
Lu Li was stunned for a moment, then silently gave a thumbs-up with his other hand.
"Damn, are you this smart, you can even guess this? I indeed have this thought, but the premise is... they are truly worth it. Shouldn't I investigate properly?"
Shen Qingxue looked at him with a hint of scrutiny in her gaze, as if judging how serious his words were.
A few seconds later, she withdrew her gaze.
"Well... then when you have time, you can go take a look."
"Alright."
The two did not continue this topic further.
Returning to the hotel at night, Lu Li leaned against the headboard and sent a message to Xu Ran using his phone.
"Do you guys have a rehearsal tomorrow? If it's convenient, I'd like to come take a look, a bit curious."
After the message was sent, it took a good while before the other side replied.
"There happens to be a rehearsal tomorrow night. If you're curious, you can come over and take a look. I'll send you the address."
"Alright."
After finishing his reply, Lu Li put his phone on the bedside table, leaned against his pillow, and began to calculate/ponder in his heart.
The next day, daytime.
Shen Qingxue practiced songs for a whole morning as usual.
In the afternoon, the two went over the spots Jiang Cheng scouted yesterday and walked through them again, confirming several shooting angles.
As the sky gradually darkened, Lu Li glanced at the time, then turned his head to look at Shen Qingxue.
"I'm planning to go check out Xu Ran's place, do you want to go with me?"
Shen Qingxue was squatting by the riverbank looking at the reflection on the water surface. Hearing this, she stood up and patted her skirt.
"Let's go, together. I also want to go take a look."
Lu Li nodded, took out his phone and glanced at the address sent by Xu Ran.
The address was a quiet bar, but it had no fame at all, and Lu Li had never heard of it.
"It's a bit far from here. We can just go back to the hotel to switch vehicles, ride that little e-bike over, about ten minutes or so."
"Then let's go."
The two quickly returned to the hotel entrance, straddled that little e-bike, and headed straight for the destination.
