25: Visiting Nangong Xueer

Upon receiving the message from Ji Mo, Nangong Xue'er was instantly ecstatic.

Ever since Ji Mo had saved her, his figure had been deeply imprinted in the bottom of Nangong Xue'er's heart. In the days after returning to the city, there was not a moment she did not miss him.

Filled with joy, Nangong Xue'er hurriedly informed Ji Mo of her residence, then meticulously groomed and dressed herself.

With a heart fluttering like a young deer, she quietly waited for Ji Mo's arrival.

After receiving the information, Ji Mo did not delay for a moment and rushed toward Nangong Xue'er's residence without stopping.

Before long, he arrived in front of the courtyard gate of Nangong Xue'er's home.

Ji Mo raised his hand and lightly knocked on the gate, the 'knock, knock, knock' sound echoing in the silence.

The gate opened slowly with a 'creak,' and a woman who stunned Ji Mo to the point of almost holding his breath appeared before him.

Her eyes were sparkling, as if hiding brilliant starlight, and she was gazing intently at Ji Mo.

The woman was wearing a plain white dress, with wide sleeves hanging down naturally, resembling flowing clouds stretching across the sky, soft and elegant.

Her jet-black, lustrous hair was half-coiled into a nimble snake-like bun, with a few stray strands falling naturally by her fair ears, further highlighting her skin, which was as translucent and delicate as snow.

A touch of cinnabar between her brows was like a red bean, and the hint of crimson sweeping across the corners of her eyes was like the sunset bathed in the gentle dusk, beautiful and dreamlike.

When her gaze shifted, it held three parts laziness and seven parts charm, as if it could steal away a person's Soul.

In every gesture, she possessed both the gentleness and dignity unique to a lady of a noble family, and the hidden, captivating allure of a thousand charms.

In a trance, she was like an immortal who had walked out of an ancient painting; every movement, every frown and smile, was like a natural poem, beautiful and heart-stirring.

Ji Mo was completely stunned by the scene before him; he truly had not expected Nangong Xue'er to be this beautiful.

Reflecting on it, he had never had any special thoughts about his relationship with Nangong Xue'er, so in their previous interactions, he had never appreciated this peerless beauty before him so carefully.

Although Ji Mo's current body was not yet twenty years old, inside it lived a Soul of over thirty years who had experienced the ways of the world.

On Earth, he had been 'baptized' by various goddesses on the internet, so his standards were naturally extremely high.

However, at this moment, the peerless appearance and unique temperament of the woman before him were such that Ji Mo could not find a second person to compare with her.

"Silly brother, what are you staring at!"

Nangong Xue'er smiled, stretched out her finger, and waved it gently in front of her beloved, her heart full of joy, secretly rejoicing that her meticulous dressing up had not been in vain.

Although Ji Mo was truly stunned, he reacted quickly and hurriedly said to Nangong Xue'er with a sincere face:

"It's because Sister Xue is too beautiful, your brother here was instantly struck by your peerless appearance."

"Hateful! You only know how to tease your sister, I'm already getting old."

Although Nangong Xue'er said this, her eyes fell on Ji Mo's face involuntarily, full of anticipation for his reaction.

"How could you be old? You are currently in the prime of your youth, bright and moving! Otherwise, how could you have made your brother stare like a wooden chicken?"

Ji Mo naturally understood Nangong Xue'er's thoughts, and this response did not disappoint her.

"Alright, come in quickly! I don't know what business you have with me?"

Nangong Xue'er's cheeks flushed slightly as she turned sideways to let Ji Mo into the room.

The room was decorated warmly and elegantly, with faint incense lingering in the air, making one feel relaxed and comfortable.

Nangong Xue'er led Ji Mo to the living room, and the two sat down on soft brocade stools.

"Sister Xue, I came here specifically this time mainly to ask about Song Dong's situation.

Sister must have seen it too, this person is full of malice towards me.

With my current strength, killing him would be as easy as turning over my hand.

But I really don't want someone like this to be eyeing me from the shadows. Since I have the ability, I should resolve this hidden danger as soon as possible."

Ji Mo asked Nangong Xue'er with a serious face.

"I also feel strange, why did Song Dong have such strong killing intent towards you as soon as he entered the city?"

Nangong Xue'er frowned slightly, her eyes full of curiosity.

"Sister Xue might not know, more than ten years ago, my parents were both Disciples of the Peerless Sect.

On the way back from a training trip, they unfortunately met their end.

I suspect that the murderer is very likely related to that Song Dong.

Just that day, before meeting you in the dense forest, I encountered a group of people who tried to rob and kill me, including people from the Song, Li, and Zhang families.

It's just that they severely underestimated my strength and were killed by me in return instead."

When Ji Mo said this, killing intent suddenly appeared in his eyes, and his tone became increasingly cold.

Hearing this, Nangong Xue'er could not help but show pity in her eyes, and her concerned gaze made Ji Mo feel deeply moved.

"That Song Dong is not a significant or powerful character; he has an older brother named Song Jianyi, who is the true heaven-favored son.

Years ago, Song Jianyi had already successfully entered the Innate realm and had long since comprehended Sword Intent; his strength is unfathomable.

Song Dong usually relies on his brother's power and acts ruthlessly and domineeringly in the city, thus offending quite a few people."

Nangong Xue'er paused and continued:

"Our team of five had some friction with that Song Dong precisely because of this.

Fortunately, the strength of our five-person team is decent, so over the years, it hasn't led to any major conflicts.

If you really intend to deal with Song Dong, your actions must be clean and swift, and you must not leave any evidence behind.

Otherwise, once his brother seizes the opportunity, with your current strength, you simply won't be able to withstand the retaliation of his brother, Song Jianyi."

Nangong Xue'er advised him earnestly.

"Thank you, Sister Xue, for telling me. Looking at it this way, my true enemy might be that Song Jianyi.

Song Jianyi should be a Disciple of the same generation as my father; they must have had some intense friction in the past, which led to my parents meeting their doom.

Sister Xue, could you help me keep an eye out and ask about Song Dong's whereabouts? I will definitely reward you heavily."

Ji Mo's eyes were full of gratitude.

Nangong Xue'er heard this and couldn't help but roll her eyes at Ji Mo. This glance was full of charm, as if it carried an invisible magic that instantly made Ji Mo's thirty-year-old Soul feel moved.

"You treat me as an outsider, don't you? Don't worry, brother. Just wait for my news. I will tell my teammates to help keep an eye out. I believe it won't be long before there is news."

"Then I will leave everything to you, Sister Xue. I shall take my leave now."

Ji Mo said gratefully.

"You're leaving already? Can't you stay with me for a while longer when there's nothing else to do!"

A trace of resentment flashed in Nangong Xue'er's eyes, and she complained softly.

Ji Mo scratched his head a little awkwardly and said:

"I was just afraid of disturbing your Cultivation! Didn't you say before that the Materials needed for advancement were all prepared? When do you plan to advance to the Innate realm?"

Nangong Xue'er smiled bitterly and said:

"It's not that easy! Those Medicinal Pills only increase the hope of promotion a little. In my current situation, wanting to advance to the Innate realm is like a fool's dream.

This matter of advancement requires full preparation. I have worked hard for so many years to save up this little bit of family fortune, and I really cannot afford to fail."

After hearing this, Ji Mo felt somewhat conflicted.

He wondered to himself whether he should give the Dragon Breath Pill to Nangong Xue'er.

After all, this matter was of great importance. Once it spread, it would inevitably attract some unnecessary trouble, and Ji Mo had always disliked being entangled in trouble.
