335: Chapter 335 System Warning! The host is devouring the planet's will in reverse.

The ice field collapsed, and the Abyssal Gate swung wide open.

It wasn't a teleportation array to another dimension, but a folded spatial passage forcibly torn open, leading deep into the earth's crust.

Lu Sheng stepped inside.

What met him wasn't the expected sulfur and blood, but a... 'rotten' aura of Laws.

No rock walls around, only an eerie green light mist as thick as mercury. Floating within the mist were ancient skeletons so massive they defied reality's logic.

A Feathered Serpent ten thousand zhang long, its skull still in a posture of hissing at the sky; a one-eyed giant a thousand zhang tall, its arm pointing straight toward the passage entrance, as if launching a final charge.

Their bones weren't pale white, but a decayed gray color after being assimilated by Laws, with innate Law divine markings engraved on every inch of bone.

This was a graveyard.

A graveyard burying all the mythical creatures from Earth's previous era, or even several eras ago.

"Hiss—"

The eerie green light mist seemed to catch the scent of a living being and began to churn violently.

They transformed into billions of green venomous snakes as thin as ox-hair, crazily burrowing into Lu Sheng's pores.

This wasn't a physical toxin.

This was the pollution of a high-dimensional information stream, a rule-based poison capable of tampering with genetic sequences and instantly mutating a Spirit King-level expert into a puddle of rotten meat.

[Warning: Detected ultra-high concentration of 'Gaia's Wrath' toxin. Attempting to rewrite the host's life blueprint.]

[Rewriting failed.]

[Warning: The host's genetic sequence is reverse-devouring 'Gaia's Wrath'!]

Lu Sheng hovered in mid-air, letting those thin green snakes rampage through his body. He even closed his eyes, savoring it carefully.

"Tastes pretty good, a bit like minty wasabi, with a strong aftertaste."

He gave a fair evaluation.

Immediately, the ancient desolate heaven swallowing furnace deep within his Dantian roared into operation.

The phantom of a death-gray millstone rotated in reverse, generating an irrationally terrifying suction force. Those rule-based toxins trying to wreak havoc in his body couldn't even put up a hint of resistance before being forcibly torn apart, crushed, and turned into the purest non-attribute spirit source.

"Burp."

Lu Sheng let out a satisfied burp, and the black-gold Imperial Markings on his skin glowed even brighter.

He opened his eyes, and those Cross-shaped Pupils no longer held disdain, but rather the satisfaction of looking at a buffet.

He opened his mouth and took a sudden, massive breath toward the dense rule-based toxic mist around him.

Whoosh—!!!

Like a giant whale sucking in water, the eerie green light mist within a thousand-meter radius was pulled into a massive tornado, all of it pouring into his mouth.

[spirit source reserve +300,000.]

[spirit source reserve +500,000.]

[Physical Body resistance to rule-based toxins increased to 95%.]

"Finished the dessert, time for the main course."

Lu Sheng patted his stomach and continued to dive deeper toward the center of the earth.

The further down he went, the more terrifying the size of the skeletons became, and that tragic, heroic aura grew increasingly dense.

He finally understood why the postures of these ancient Divine Beasts were all charging outward.

They weren't fighting among themselves.

They were guarding something, trying to rush out of the surface to face enemies from beyond the starry sky.

Passing through the forest of skeletons, the space ahead suddenly opened up.

The Earth's core.

What churned there wasn't magma, but pure, liquefied golden core energy.

In the center of this golden ocean, Lu Sheng saw that familiar figure.

A calico stray cat.

It sat on a floating black rock, its tail swishing leisurely back and forth.

Only this time, its body was no longer solid, but a phantom composed of countless faint golden light dots, as if it could dissipate at any moment.

Behind it, a massive black chain emerged from the void, firmly pinning through its core. The other end of the chain emitted a cold, silent starry sky vibration that did not belong to Earth.

"You've come."

The cat's phantom looked up, its pupils reflecting a star map, calmly gazing at Lu Sheng.

Its voice was no longer a sigh, but a grand resonance mixed with the will of billions of living beings, echoing directly in the depths of Lu Sheng's Soul.

"Aren't you curious? What the so-called 'Abyss' actually is."

Lu Sheng hovered at the edge of the golden ocean, hands in his pockets, his expression showing no surprise.

"Guides, rebels, pastures, diners," he said succinctly. "The stories on this planet are livelier than I imagined."

"Stories?" The calico cat's phantom seemed to smile, a human-like self-mockery appearing on its cat face. "This is more like a suicide note written over billions of years."

It raised a paw, pointing to the churning rule-based toxic mist around them.

"What do you think this is? An invasion?"

"No."

"These are antibodies."

"It's a potent poison this planet injected into itself in order to survive."

This voice was like a thunderclap from the dawn of creation, exploding in Lu Sheng's Sea of Consciousness.

"The Starry Sky Great Harvest, or to use terms you can understand, the 'Harvest,' descends once every era."

"In the last era, Immortal Qin used the strength of their entire race to create the Prison-Suppressing Demon Armor and a Starry Sky Fleet, attempting to resist. They failed."

"This time, it's my turn." The calico cat's phantom slowly stood up. Despite its illusory form, it exuded a maternal resolve and tragedy.

"I cannot confront those 'diners' head-on. But I can turn this pasture into a poisonous trap."

"I proactively tore open the crust, drawing in those chaotic, filthy abyssal energies from the Universe, letting them fuse with my Origin to transform all life on this planet. I made every cell filled with a 'rule-based poison' capable of poisoning gods."

"That is the truth of the Abyss."

"It is not the enemy; it is Earth's immune System. It is the chemotherapy plan chosen by this planet in the late stages of cancer."

"And the so-called Abyssal Council is merely the first batch of 'white blood cells' I stimulated. Unfortunately, they developed self-awareness and were even foolish enough to want to cooperate with the cancer cells."

Lu Sheng fell silent.

He looked at the ancient skeletons charging forward, at the churning rule-based toxic mist, and then at the cat before him, pinned by the starry sky chain yet still plotting across the ages.

Everything made sense now.

This was a plan even crazier and more thorough than that of the Immortal Qin rebels.

Mutual destruction.

"Not a bad plan." Lu Sheng nodded, then changed his tone, a hint of cold mockery flashing in his Cross-shaped Pupils. "Unfortunately, chemotherapy often kills the patient themselves."

"Correct," the calico cat admitted frankly. "My Origin is about to be exhausted, and the toxins I stimulated aren't strong enough. Until... your appearance."

Its gaze fell on Lu Sheng, the look a creator gives their most perfect work—full of admiration, yet also full of the coldness of using something to its full potential.

"The 'seed' of the Immortal Qin rebels, a perfect vessel capable of infinite devouring and infinite evolution."

"You are the final and most crucial primary ingredient in my plan."

"Your Physical Body has already surpassed the limits of all living beings on this planet. Your Soul can even devour the power of the starry sky."

The calico cat's phantom took a few steps forward, its grand voice carrying an unquestionable command.

"Now, the end of your evolution has arrived."

"Give up your self-awareness and offer up this perfect shell."

"Let me refine you into this planet's brand-new 'Poison Source Core'."

"You will become the true Abyss, to pollute and devour those Starry Sky Fleets about to descend."

"This is your destiny. And your... supreme glory as a part of this planet."
