388: Chapter 388 Uninvited Guests, the Myriad Manifestations Divine Court Reconnaissance Team

Another twelve days passed.

Early this morning, Lu Sheng was on the training grounds forcing Dao Yi to do single-arm push-ups.

Dao Yi was howling under the gravitational pressure of the Spirit Saint Realm's laws, his arms shaking like a sieve.

"Ninety-seven... ninety-eight... Lord... I really can't do any more..."

"Even if you can't, you have to hold on! Two more!"

"Ninety-nine... one hundred!"

Dao Yi collapsed onto the ground, looking like a puddle of mud.

Just then, Lu Sheng's communicator vibrated.

Luo Tianfei's voice came through, carrying a rare hint of urgency.

"Lu Sheng. The outer space monitoring System has detected a high-speed aircraft approaching Earth from the outskirts of the star System."

Lu Sheng abruptly stood up straight.

"Speed?"

"Extremely fast. Estimated to reach Earth's outer defense perimeter in six hours."

"Quantity?"

"Currently, only one has been detected. It's not large, but the energy signature is extremely strong. Preliminary assessment is a stealth reconnaissance ship."

"How many people are inside?"

Luo Tianfei paused for a second.

"Cannot be accurately detected. The aircraft's hull has an extremely strong shielding device that conventional means cannot penetrate. However, based on the fluctuations in the energy signal, there are at least six to ten Spirit Source User-level lifeforms on board."

Lu Sheng took a deep breath.

They're here.

Faster than he expected.

He glanced at Dao Yi, who was panting on the ground.

"Dao Yi, training is suspended. All Cultivators at the Spirit Emperor Realm and above, assemble immediately."

Hearing Lu Sheng's tone, Dao Yi instantly bounced up from the ground, his exhaustion completely swept away.

"Lord, what happened?"

"Guests are coming."

Lu Sheng's tone was flat, but Dao Yi could hear the murderous intent within it.

Guests?

In the Lord's mouth, 'guests' meant 'prey'.

Half an hour later, the command room of Dengxian Island was crowded.

Fifteen Spirit Emperor Realm Cultivators, plus Dao Yi, Li Xiaoyao, and Luo Tianfei, were all present.

Lu Sheng sat in the main seat, a holographic projection in front of him showing the trajectory of the approaching aircraft.

"The situation is simple," Lu Sheng began. "A reconnaissance team from the Myriad Manifestations Divine Court is flying toward Earth. They are expected to arrive in six hours."

The command room fell silent instantly.

The fifteen Spirit Emperor Realm Cultivators looked at each other, and several of their faces had already changed color.

They had been listening to Luo Tianfei's information about the Myriad Manifestations Divine Court for the past half month, and they knew what level of power that organization was.

"Their minimum strength is the Peak Spirit Venerable Realm," Lu Sheng continued. "If Luo Tianfei's assessment is correct, there are also five to eight team members ranging from the Spirit Emperor Realm to the Spirit Venerable Realm."

A Spirit Emperor Realm Cultivator named Zhou Lei couldn't help but speak up: "Lord, Peak Spirit Venerable Realm... Besides you, the strongest person on our side is Senior Dao Yi at the Peak Spirit Emperor Realm. All of us combined wouldn't be a match for a Spirit Venerable."

"That's why I'm not sending you to fight," Lu Sheng glanced at him.

"Today's arrangement is this: I will intercept them in space. You will stand by at Earth's outer defense perimeter. If anyone escapes from my hands, you will be responsible for the cleanup."

"Just like that?" Li Xiaoyao blinked.

"Just like that." Lu Sheng nodded. "Dealing with a single reconnaissance team doesn't require you to step up. You only have one task—to learn."

"Learn what?"

"Learn how I fight those in the Spirit Venerable Realm." Lu Sheng stood up. "Sooner or later, you will encounter enemies at the Spirit Venerable Realm. Today, watch and see what a Spirit Venerable looks like in front of a Spirit Saint. It'll give you a better idea of what to expect."

Dao Yi swallowed hard beside him.

The Lord's meaning was clear—today was a lesson. He was the teacher, and that reconnaissance team was the teaching aid.

After giving his instructions, Lu Sheng walked straight out of the command room.

He flew to the highest point of Dengxian Island and looked up at the sky.

Six hours.

Not long now.

He pulled the dragon devouring spear from his storage space and weighed it in his hand.

After being tempered by so many battles, the spear's weight had increased to a terrifying degree. The purple-gold luster on the spear's body was becoming deeper, and dragon patterns were faintly visible on the shaft.

"It's been a long time since I've had a proper fight."

Lu Sheng shouldered the spear, the corners of his mouth curling up slightly.

Time passed second by second.

Four hours later.

Lu Sheng had already flown to the outermost layer of Earth's defense perimeter.

He suspended himself in space, fourteen Black-gold Dragon Wings slowly unfurling, forming a massive fan shape behind him. The two newly grown dragon wings with silver-gray patterns shimmered with a cold light under the starlight.

Before him was the endless, pitch-black void of space.

Luo Tianfei's communication continuously updated the target's position.

"Forty-five minutes until they reach the outer defense perimeter."

Lu Sheng closed his eyes, his entire body relaxed.

His perception extended outward. The perception range of the Spirit Saint Realm was ridiculously large; within a radius of hundreds of thousands of miles, not even the slightest energy fluctuation could escape his detection.

Thirty minutes later.

He felt it.

In the far reaches of space, there was a mass of energy fluctuations so weak they were almost non-existent, moving toward Earth at extreme speed.

If not for the perception of the Spirit Saint Realm, it would be impossible to notice. The reconnaissance ship's stealth technology was indeed top-tier, having compressed its energy signature almost to zero.

"Found you."

Lu Sheng opened his eyes and aimed toward that direction.

He was in no hurry to strike.

He wanted to wait for the opponent to get a little closer.

Close enough that they wouldn't have time to run.

Twenty minutes later.

That weak energy fluctuation had entered the core area of Lu Sheng's perception range.

The distance was about fifty thousand miles.

Lu Sheng could "see" the aircraft now.

It was a silver-white ship with an extremely sleek design. It wasn't large, about the size of an office building on Earth. The hull was coated with some special stealth paint, making it almost completely transparent in space.

If Lu Sheng's perception wasn't strong enough, he wouldn't have discovered it at all.

The ship's speed was slowing down.

They were becoming cautious after approaching the target area.

"Interesting."

Lu Sheng gripped the dragon devouring spear tightly.

He didn't plan on waiting anymore.

The dragon wings on his back flapped violently, and he directly tore through the space ahead, flashing toward that silver-white ship.
