47: Chapter 47 Rescue Successful

Jiang Yuanan was located in a peri-urban area of Songshan District. By the time Zhang Wei arrived with An Xiaoxi, Liu Haorui and the other two were already waiting at the entrance of the alley.

Zhang Wei briefly explained what had happened. Naturally, he still attributed it to information provided by a big shot from his hometown.

Liu Haorui said in surprise, "That fellow countryman of yours is too amazing. It feels like he's a walking encyclopedia; there's nothing he doesn't know."

Zhang Wei just smiled and didn't respond.

"This guy is such a natural airhead," An Xiaoxi muttered to herself on the side.

She wasn't as naive as Liu Haorui. As a top-tier hacker, she had never been able to find any information about this so-called fellow countryman.

It was as if this person didn't exist. She had noticed it during the previous few times they recovered items; the intelligence provided was suspiciously accurate.

However, through living together day and night, she had already integrated into this big family. She also knew that Zhang Wei was not a bad person. Everyone had their own secrets, and she didn't want to dwell on it too much.

"That's how it is." Zhang Wei instructed, "When we go in to save him, if we're asked later, just say we discovered him by accident while out for a late-night snack."

Seeing everyone nod, the group, having aligned their story, entered the alley.

They soon found Jiang Yuanan deep inside. At this moment, Jiang Yuanan was still in a coma, his lips pale, and his condition had worsened slightly compared to when they had last seen him.

Zhang Wei asked Zhang Hong and Wang Sheng to keep a lookout, and had An Xiaoxi act as the photographer to document the scene.

He stepped forward, took out the bandages they had bought at a pharmacy on the way, and worked with Liu Haorui to provide emergency treatment.

He had never even killed a chicken before, so the entire bandaging process was quite clumsy, but in the end, they managed to stop the bleeding.

He called everyone over to place Jiang Yuanan in the trunk, then got in the car and rushed toward the hospital. On the way, Zhang Wei dialed the emergency police number.

"Hello, this is the 110 emergency center. How can I help you?" A female police officer's voice came over the phone.

"I found an injured person in an alley. He has a knife wound on his stomach and is currently unconscious. Because I've dealt with him before, I recognized him as Captain Jiang from the Criminal Police Brigade. We are currently taking him to ** Hospital, please send someone quickly."

"Understood, please keep the line open and do not hang up." The other side, upon hearing this, did not dare to delay and immediately reported it to their supervisor.

In a moment, a man's voice came over the phone: "What is your license plate number?" Zhang Wei gave it to him.

The man seemed to say a few words to someone beside him and then said, "The situation is critical. Please turn on your hazard lights. I am now authorizing you to ignore traffic signals to get Captain Jiang to the hospital as quickly as possible."

Zhang Wei was stunned. Was he being told he could run red lights at will?

"Officers will meet you at the hospital. Please take good care of the Captain until then," the middle-aged man added.

Liu Haorui, on the side, said excitedly, "Isn't this legal street racing? We're going to play GTA in real life!"

The middle-aged man heard Liu Haorui and coughed, "Of course, you must also ensure safety, especially at intersections."

Zhang Wei glared fiercely at Liu Haorui. This guy was really thick-skinned; didn't he see that the phone line was still open? He would say anything.

However, he also wanted to test the performance of the NIO. He had never experienced the 2.8-second 0-100 km/h acceleration push in the congested city. He took a deep breath, slammed on the accelerator, and the car shot forward.

Sparks flew and lightning flashed all the way. From a distance, he could see several police cars parked at the entrance of ** Hospital. Seeing Zhang Wei's car, an officer immediately signaled them. Zhang Wei drove the car directly to the entrance of the emergency room and opened the trunk.

At this moment, a heroic-looking female police officer walked over, saluted Zhang Wei, and said, "I am Zuo Hemei, Deputy Captain of the Municipal Criminal Police Brigade. Thank you for your rescue." Then, with a wave of her hand, she signaled the officers nearby to carry Jiang Yuanan into the hospital.

Everyone arrived outside the emergency room. Zuo Hemei asked, "If it's convenient, could you describe the situation that just occurred?"

"Let me say it, let me say it!" Zuo Hemei had a beautiful face. Although her skin was dark, she looked healthy and vibrant, and her figure was stunning. Liu Haorui was mesmerized by her beauty and immediately rushed to show off.

Zhang Wei ignored him and recounted the story according to their agreed-upon version. He didn't forget to introduce how they knew Captain Jiang.

Zuo Hemei looked surprised after hearing this. "I didn't expect that you were the ones from the last incident? That's quite a coincidence." Previously, Captain Jiang had been questioned by his superiors several times because of the shelling incident, and he had pulled two all-nighters just writing reports, complaining to her quite a bit. Now, he had been saved by these few people. It could be considered a blessing in disguise.

She asked about the location of the crime scene, and Zuo Hemei ordered officers to go to the scene to collect evidence.

After they chatted for a while, the emergency room door was pushed open. The doctor walked out and said, "This officer was stabbed in the abdomen, causing heavy bleeding. Fortunately, it was discovered early. If it hadn't been discovered for a few more hours, the excessive blood loss would have been dangerous."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Zuo Hemei asked, "Doctor, has Captain Jiang woken up? When can we go in for questioning?"

"The patient is currently awake." The doctor thought for a moment and then said, "You can go in for questioning, but he is still very weak, so it shouldn't take too long."

Zuo Hemei nodded and then signaled Zhang Wei and the others to go in together.

Inside the emergency room, Jiang Yuanan was lying weakly on the hospital bed. Seeing Zhang Wei and the others come in, a smile appeared on his face. "I didn't expect you guys to be the ones who saved me. Thank you so much, otherwise, I think I would have died on the spot."

He knew that the alley was very remote, and usually no one would pass by at night.

"This is what we should do," Zhang Wei smiled. "You helped us before, and now we've saved you. You could call it fate, right?"

Jiang Yuanan nodded and said to Zuo Hemei, who was standing to the side, "The streetlights were too dim at the time. I could only make out that the person who stabbed me was a man about 1.7 meters tall. He was about forty years old and wore a grey cloth jacket. Did the nearby surveillance cameras capture anything?"

"Xiao Wang and the others are still on their way to the scene. I will report to you later." Zuo Hemei added, "However, the other party was clearly targeting you, and the attack was swift and ruthless. It might be a criminal you've arrested before, or revenge from some underworld figures."

Captain Jiang snorted coldly, "I don't think so. Those underworld figures don't have the guts."

Zhang Wei stood to the side, listening to the two analyze the case. In fact, he knew clearly in his heart that this was entirely an accidental coincidence. But even if he knew Tian Lirong's identity and even his hideout, he couldn't tell the truth. After all, if you, an ordinary citizen, know everything when even the parties involved haven't mastered the intelligence, it's hard not to be suspected.

After chatting for a few minutes, Captain Jiang felt a bit exhausted, and everyone prepared to leave. Before leaving, Jiang Yuanan didn't forget to ask for Zhang Wei's mobile number and said he would treat Zhang Wei and the others to a meal after he recovered. Zhang Wei also smiled and agreed.

Hadn't he just latched onto the thigh of the Municipal Criminal Police Brigade? If anyone dared to stab him in the back in the future, they probably wouldn't know how to write the words "cracking down on organized crime."
