127: Chapter 127 Wa Banxian

It wasn't just the Orks.

The players of the Scourge Legion had also set their sights on this Boss worth ten thousand points.

Smoothbore cannons, heavy machine guns, and plasma beams rained down like a torrential storm, slamming violently into the Defiler's torso.

Under wave after wave of reckless sieging...

Two of the Defiler's six mechanical crab legs had already been forcibly ripped off by the Power Claws of that incredibly strong Ork Warboss.

Its top main cannon and side missile racks had also been focused down by the Scourge Legion's Plasma Guns, reduced to a pile of smoking scrap metal.

But even so...

This Daemon Engine still hadn't fallen.

Because a layer of dark purple Warp energy shielding was constantly maintained around its core cabin.

As long as the daemon at its core wasn't extinguished, its damaged mechanical body would continuously self-repair under the infusion of Warp power.

Broken mechanical legs reconnected, and melted cannon barrels once again spat out lethal soulfire.

It remained like a tireless meat grinder, frantically harvesting the lives of players and Orks on the battlefield.

Inside the command post.

Lin Li watched the Defiler standing firm amidst the artillery fire through satellite surveillance, his brow furrowed tightly.

"This Boss's health bar is locked too tight. Conventional firepower simply can't break its Warp core shield."

Lin Li rubbed his chin, "I'm wondering if I should have 73 fire another Mass-Energy Conversion Cannon shot to give it a direct physical transcendence?"

But immediately, Lin Li dismissed the thought.

"No, this place is too close to Coastal City's walls—at most three kilometers. The mass of that Defiler is so great that if it's hit by the Mass-Energy Cannon, the resulting miniature nuclear explosion's shockwave would definitely collapse the entire section of the wall! Even if I win then, I'd be taking over a dead city. That would be a huge loss!"

Just as Lin Li was racking his brains on how to remove this thorn with conventional means...

A wild move by Ming Shen, Liver Emperor, and the others left Lin Li completely stunned.

Behind the Scourge Legion's positions...

Ming Shen was directing dozens of players to line up four Infantry Assault Vehicles. They were topped off with Solid-state Hydrogen Batteries and packed with various high explosives and Promethium fuel, forming a charging formation at the front of the line.

Then, Ming Shen roared into the channel:

"Drivers in position! Weld the accelerators down with bricks! Lock the steering wheels! Target: that big crab up ahead!"

Several players serving as the suicide squad floored the accelerators.

Watching this scene, Lin Li couldn't help but have the corners of his mouth twitch uncontrollably.

"Fine, fine, fine. Playing with suicide trucks now, are we?"

Lin Li leaned back in his chair and couldn't help but applaud.

"These guys of the The Fourth Calamity... for that ten-thousand-point bounty, they're really giving it their all!"

The four heavy assault vehicles let out a roar that tore through the air, like four heavy cruise missiles flying low to the ground, heading straight for the Defiler in the center of the battlefield!

The players blocking the convoy's path had already scattered to both sides like they were avoiding a plague, following the commands in the squad voice chat.

Only those brainless Orks stood there in a daze.

They were ruthlessly crushed into meat paste by the assault vehicles' treads.

The distance closed rapidly.

Five hundred meters... three hundred meters... one hundred meters!

The Defiler and the five-meter-tall Ork Warboss, who were currently locked in a fierce melee, hacking at each other...

...both sensed something wrong behind them and turned their heads in unison.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The four assault vehicles, loaded with Solid-state Hydrogen Batteries and high explosives, carried a terrifying, unstoppable kinetic energy.

One after another, they slammed violently into the Defiler's thick core cabin shield!

The massive amount of Solid-state Hydrogen Batteries instantly underwent a terrifying chain reaction of explosions!

A ball of blazing white light, seemingly ten million times brighter than the sun, soared into the sky!

The deafening blast even drowned out the war cries of the millions of Orks on the battlefield!

The terrifying shockwave instantly vaporized every living thing within a radius of several hundred meters.

This earth-shattering blaze burned in mid-air for a full half-minute before gradually dissipating.

When the smoke and dust settled...

...everyone looked intently.

Under that level of self-destructive power, even the Daemon Engine's Warp shield had completely overloaded and collapsed.

The Defiler's mountain-like physical mechanical body was blown into a field of scattered, charred parts.

Even the flesh-daemon inside that controlled the machine was completely vaporized by the instantaneous temperature of tens of thousands of degrees, leaving not even a scrap behind.

And the five-meter-tall Ork Warboss, who had been showing off his might just a moment ago so close to the center of the explosion, fared no better.

The upper half of his steel-hard body had completely vanished.

On the entire battlefield, only his pair of tree-trunk-thick green legs remained, standing upright, stuck in the charred earth.

On the other end of the beach.

The high-ranking Chaos Sorcerer was currently on the verge of a total breakdown.

A dignified Chaos herald capable of communicating with the Warp and manipulating psychic energy was actually being suppressed by a crocodile and a rat to the point where he couldn't even catch his breath!

Lü Bu's chain-greatsword, which looked like a broken door panel, followed no techniques or patterns at all; it was just a flurry of wild, chaotic hacks.

And that Skaven was even more wretched in his positioning, specifically targeting his lower body and joints with heavy bludgeons.

The Sorcerer had just used Warp energy to repair a shattered knee when he took another sword strike to the back.

Just as he was being miserably entangled by these two lunatics...

...in the distance, that ball of blazing white light brighter than the sun soared into the sky, and the violent blast shockwave knocked him to the ground.

The Sorcerer scrambled up, covered in dust, and turned to look at the center of the battlefield.

When he saw that the Defiler Daemon Engine he had summoned had actually been blown into a pile of smoking parts by a few junk cars...

...the fury in the Sorcerer's heart shot up like a drop tower.

"Damn it! Damn it! They're all a bunch of lunatics!"

The Sorcerer's composure broke.

He knew very well that this carefully planned blood sacrifice had spiraled completely out of control.

If he fled back to the Warp with such a dismal record, he would definitely become the laughingstock of other warbands or even low-level daemons!

"Since this thing wasn't enough, then I'll bring something bigger! I'll bury you all here!"

The Sorcerer suddenly bit the tip of his tongue, using the sharp pain to gain a sliver of clarity.

With several desperate rolls, he forcibly broke away from the melee entanglement with the Crocodileman and the Skaven.

Standing his ground, he suddenly hurled the Sacrificial Staff in his hand into the air.

The staff hovered, held aloft by invisible psychic energy.

Without any hesitation, the Sorcerer crushed the skull emitting evil fluctuations at the top of the staff!

He did not call out the name of Khorne, Tzeentch, or any specific Chaos God.

As a zealot of Chaos Undivided, he did not favor any one of the Four Gods.

He believed in the collective abyss of disorder and madness that was the entire Warp.

His only goal now was to drag this material world that had insulted him completely into the abyss of destruction!

As for what terrifying existence's gaze would be drawn after breaking the veil of reality, that was entirely up to luck.

"With my blood! I welcome the Abyss!" the Sorcerer screamed frantically.

With the shattering of the staff, an unprecedentedly terrifying surge of Warp energy swept across the entire eastern battlefield like an invisible tsunami.

Zzzzt—

All surrounding electromagnetic equipment, radio stations, and even the engines of the Scourge Legion's highly interference-resistant Infantry Assault Vehicles emitted a piercing static before collectively stalling and shutting down!

The purple rift in mid-air, which was originally only a few hundred meters long, was forcibly torn open by an irresistible, mighty force!

The sky looked as if a bleeding wound had truly been ripped into it.

Immediately following...

...on the other side of the rift, it seemed something incredibly fearsome had been drawn in by this reckless sacrifice.

Under everyone's trembling gazes, a massive and distorted figure slowly emerged from the depths of the Warp.

It was a being of immense size, with a torso that was long and stretched in an unnervingly bizarre way.

His skin was a sickly pale, looking as if it were forcibly stitched together from countless pieces of bloodless, old leather.

On his back, there were no fleshy wings common to daemons.

Instead, there was a pair of giant mechanical wings woven together from brass gears, crude metal frames, exhaust pipes spewing black smoke, and intricate black cables!

His lower body was tightly covered in heavy mechanical armor emitting hellish light.

And on his upper body, he actually wore a blacksmith's apron sewn from the face-skins of countless mortals and daemons!

The figure stood at the edge of the rift, two blood-red gazes piercing through the gap, coldly scanning the material world below.

He took a cursory glance at the Ork army below, which was as dense as ants, and seemed to find it somewhat boring.

He merely reached out a giant, semi-mechanical palm and lightly swept it across the area below, as if brushing away dust.

There was no explosion, no fire.

Only an invisible, mighty Warp force swept through.

Massive swaths of charging Orc Boyz, along with their heavy artillery vehicles, were instantly turned into puddles of foul-smelling green blood! An instant kill!

This terrifying phenomenon, like a god descending to earth, instantly alarmed everyone on the battlefield.

However, although those million Orks looked up curiously, they didn't feel much fear.

In the Orks' simple and crude logic, gods should be like Gork and Mork—covered in muscles, holding big choppas, and looking very tough.

"That fing is covered in pipes and skinny as a rail. He definitely ain't Gork or Mork, 'cause he don't look tough at all!"

An Orc Boss rubbed his chin and gave a pertinent evaluation.

As for the group of players below who had just blown up the Boss, the word 'fear' had never been in their dictionary.

They tilted their heads back, excitedly pointing at the sky and shouting.

"Holy crap! The devs are doing something big again! It's the middle of the night, and they're dropping the final Boss?!"

"This modeling is insane! This cyberpunk-plus-Cthulhu art style—what kind of new monster is this?"

At this time, a 'know-it-all' player jumped out and started a live science lesson:

"Brothers! Look at those mechanical wings and the blacksmith's apron! This guy is definitely Wa Banxian—Vashtorr!"

A newbie player was puzzled:

"Wa Banxian? Why does that name sound like a fortune teller? I've never heard of this character!"

A lore-buff player quickly explained:

"In the setting, Vashtorr is a badass hidden big-shot! He's known as the Arkifane, the Lord of the Soul Forge, representing the amoral scientific curiosity, morbid invention, and mechanical corruption within the Warp!"

"This guy is a demigod! He's currently scouring the universe for ancient artifacts, trying to complete the final step of apotheosis to become the fifth Great Chaos God of the Warp! That Defiler from earlier was his handiwork!"

The players were chatting heatedly in the channel.

And Vashtorr, high above, seemed to hear the clamor of these mortals.

He withdrew his mechanical hand that had been sweeping the Orks, and his crimson gaze pierced through the clouds, projecting onto this group of death-defying outlanders.

Then, Vashtorr's gaze bypassed the chaotic battlefield and looked toward the distant west.

That was the direction of the Fire Seed Shelter!

The red light in Vashtorr's eyes suddenly surged!

On his face, stitched together from pale leather, there actually appeared a look of extreme excitement—even a hint of unbelievable fanaticism.

"That is?!"

Vashtorr's voice sounded like countless metal gears grinding against each other, piercing and eerie.

"The Eye of Dimensions?!"
