234: Chapter 235 The Space Marine's Confusion

This group of mortals was still whispering to each other without any restraint.

One restless fellow even curiously reached out a thieving hand to touch the arcs of electricity dancing on Lucas's power claw, wanting to see if the modeling of this thing was detailed!

"Insolence!" A battle-brother of the Death Spectres just wanted to draw his Bolter.

But Lucas raised his hand to stop him.

Regarding this group of mortals' disrespectful actions, devoid of any awe, Lucas did not take any extreme punitive measures.

Because, in his value system, these mortals dared to board the Hive Mother Ship directly without heavy fire support.

Based solely on this rare courage and fearless heroism, they had already earned the recognition of this veteran.

Furthermore.

When Lucas's keen eyes swept over the weapons held by these mortals.

Even he, a veteran who had fought in countless battles, couldn't help but feel a tingling sensation on his scalp.

Not only did these people possess expensive melta weapons and rare power weapons, but they even had a Plasma Gun for every person!

There were also some strange-looking pieces of equipment whose operating principles even this veteran couldn't understand.

What was even more outrageous was.

He even saw that these mortals were wearing several different models of unknown Power Armor!

The mortal at the very front was even arrogantly wearing a set of heavy Power Armor covered in golden insignias!

This configuration, this attire! If the fanatical Inquisitors of the Inquisition saw this, they would definitely draw their weapons and open fire without a word, blasting this group as Chaos heretics on the spot!

Lucas's understanding of this group of mysterious mortal warriors deepened by another layer.

However, he didn't care about this transgressive equipment; on this desperate battlefield, anyone who could kill xenos was a good brother.

Lucas just nodded, and replied coldly in a hoarse voice filled with oppressive pressure:

"Follow us! Advance!"

Afterwards, he turned around directly and led the Space Marine squad toward another direction of the Hive Mother Ship.

Clearly intending to find a weak point in the Hive Mother Ship's shell for demolition.

The few players left in place looked at each other.

Flame Fist scratched his helmet and asked:

"What do you say? Are we going to be the NPC's tag-alongs?"

ikun waved his hand indifferently:

"What do you mean, what do we say! Forget him! He can walk his path, we'll fight our own way! It's not like we can't beat these bugs without these few NPCs. The boss's fire support is arriving soon, we'll just wait here!"

Several core players nodded one after another, expressing their agreement.

This game's main selling point is high freedom; whoever wants to be an NPC's dog can go be one.

On the other side,

Veteran Lucas led the Space Marine squad forward for a dozen meters, only to find there was no movement behind them at all.

He frowned and turned around, discovering that the group of strange mortals had really not followed, but were instead defending in place calmly, and some even sat on the disgusting flesh-covered ground without any defenses, looking up at the starry sky.

Lucas's expression under his helmet darkened.

He just wanted to turn back and reprimand this group of mortals who didn't know life from death.

Suddenly!

Lucas only felt a blinding blue electromagnetic glare flash abruptly before his eyes!

This light came without any warning, moving so fast that even a Space Marine's dynamic vision couldn't capture it.

"Boom—!!!"

The next second.

The massive Hive Mother Ship, over twenty kilometers long, beneath Lucas's feet, erupted with a violent tremor that made one's soul tremble!

That was the terrifying kinetic energy produced by an absolutely massive physical object impacting at near-light speed!

The massive body of the Hive Mother Ship was even slammed heavily downwards in space by this immense force!

Lucas was caught off guard and nearly lost his balance in this violent tremor.

He steadied his figure abruptly, raised his power claw, and looked around vigilantly.

When the spores and the green flesh flying all over the sky dissipated.

Lucas looked ahead, his pupils shrinking abruptly; he felt his scalp tingle and even broke out in a cold sweat!

It could be seen that in the position between him and the group of mortal players.

On the originally incredibly tough chitinous shell of the Hive Mother Ship.

At this moment, a terrifying giant crater with a diameter of over fifty meters and an unfathomable depth had appeared out of thin air!

Through this giant crater, whose edges were still emitting charred black smoke, one could even directly see the intricate deep blood vessels and massive organ chambers inside the Hive Mother Ship!

"What kind of orbital strike is this?!"

Lucas couldn't figure out the situation at once,

"The fleet is all engaged in battle, and there are no ships that can spare their main batteries to fire. Where on earth did this attack come from?!"

And just when Lucas was in shock and bewilderment.

The group of mortal players on the opposite side suddenly erupted into a burst of excited cheers, as if it were a festival.

"Holy crap! Boss is awesome!"

"Precision door opening! Package delivered!"

"Brothers! The door is open! Charge! Go for the first kill!"

Hundreds of players were howling.

They quickly formed into several standard "three-man" assault formations, activated their jetpacks without hesitation, and like dumplings being dropped into a pot, lined up and jumped one after another into that bottomless flesh-filled giant crater!

Watching this scene, Lucas suddenly realized.

Clearly, this was not some accidental strike.

This was a tactic that this group of mortals had planned long ago!

They weren't following him because they were waiting for this orbital cannon support to "open the door"!

"The Captain was right; this bunch of guys is truly a group of lunatics who don't fear death."

Lucas gritted his teeth, turned his head, and waved his hand at the battle-brothers behind him, "Move! Follow those mortals! Enter the deep crater!"

...

After jumping into the giant crater and entering the deep chambers inside the Hive Mother Ship.

The players instantly felt like they had returned to their happy home, becoming exceptionally skillful and excited.

One must know that the three hundred or so Scourge Legion players present were all die-hard veterans with at least five boarding and ship-blowing experiences.

And boarding fanatics like Flame Fist and Zhen from the Brotherhood of Steel had even more rich experience, having gone in and out of the bugs' bellies dozens of times!

The interior of the Hive Mother Ship was not at all a spaceship corridor built of steel in the conventional sense.

All the corridors and chambers here were living tissue!

The Hive Mind could control these muscles to contract, heal, or even reshape the terrain anytime, anywhere.

A corridor that was incredibly spacious one second could, the next second, become a solid piece of flesh due to muscle spasms.

It could even, like a Venus flytrap, directly wrap around and trap the intruders to death inside.

But the players were already long accustomed to this disgusting living environment.

"The sphincter in front is about to close! Flamethrower troops! Burn through it for me!" Flame Fist was skillfully directing at the front.

Several players holding heavy flamethrowers immediately stepped forward and unleashed a violent roasting of Promethium at the meat wall that was contracting crazily.

The meat wall felt the pain, shrank back abruptly, and yielded a path once again.

Meanwhile, Lucas and the group of Death Spectres Space Marines following behind appeared much more cautious at this moment.

This was the first time since they started their service that they had boarded the interior of a main Hive Mother Ship of the Tyranids.

Although before the battle, there had been some tactical plans within the Chapter for dealing with xenos.

But talking on paper and actual combat were completely different things.

Encountering this kind of living maze for the first time, they were somewhat lacking in experience in dealing with it.

Lucas held his Bolter, looking at the group of mortal warriors ahead who were using flamethrowers and Chainswords to clear the way with extreme proficiency, and felt a strong sense of surprise in his heart.

This group cooperated too tacitly!

It was as easy and relaxed as if they had returned to their own backyard!

Lucas thought for a moment, then walked up in a few strides.

He extended his massive power glove and grabbed the shoulder of a player walking at the end of the line, who was holding a Plasma Gun on guard.

"Mortal."

Lucas asked in a hoarse voice,

"Why do you seem so familiar with the environment here? Have you been here before?"

The player turned his head, and seeing it was the big guy NPC asking, immediately replied casually:

"Of course I'm familiar with it; we've boarded this crappy dungeon several times already, and I could find the route even with my eyes closed."

Hearing this casual answer, the eyes under Lucas's helmet instantly widened, his face full of disbelief.

Boarded several times already?!

In the tactical doctrines of the Space Marines.

Boarding actions were listed as the most cruel, bloodiest, and lowest-survival-probability suicidal tactics in the entire universe!

Boarding not only meant having to fight against endless enemies in a narrow space with an absolute numerical disadvantage.

It also required forcibly achieving a decapitation mission amidst the enemy's home-field encirclement.

Furthermore, even if you successfully decapitated the enemy leader, how to retreat back alive was another huge, near-impossible problem!

In the painful history of the Imperium.

Even during the Horus Heresy, when the great Emperor of Mankind personally led the Custodes to board the Vengeful Spirit.

It ended in the tragic outcome of a Primarch dying in battle and the God-Emperor being critically injured and dying, sitting on the Golden Throne.

Yet this group of mortals before him.

How did they make a suicidal mission like boarding a Hive Mother Ship as easy and casual as going for a walk?!

Lucas's brain was in a state of confusion.

He did not continue to press the question, but just led the Space Marine squad, silently following behind these veterans.

Not long after, as the players continued to advance toward the core of the Mothership.

The surrounding, already dim, flesh-filled environment began to undergo deadly changes.

The atmosphere inside the Mothership began to be filled with high concentrations of alien toxic spores and strong acid particles.

These particles were extremely lethal; even the sturdy ceramite Power Armor of the Space Marines, if exposed to them, would be slowly corroded, making sizzling sounds.

Not only that.

The meat walls on both sides of the corridor would also crack open without warning, suddenly extending large numbers of acid sprayers, bone spike launchers, and muscle tentacles covered in barbs.

The blood vessels on the ground would rupture, and the oozing body fluids possessed strong corrosiveness capable of melting bones.

This was a true road of death.

But what made Lucas and the group of Space Marines feel incredibly shocked was!

When facing these deadly traps, this group of mortal warriors handled them so perfectly that not a single flaw could be found!

When encountering acid sprayers, they directly threw a stun grenade to detonate them in advance;

When encountering corrosive body fluids on the ground, several players took out diffusion foam to build simple bridges, or directly activated their jetpacks to glide along the ceiling.

Clearly, what they said earlier about boarding several times was definitely not bragging.

This was a group of elite, battle-hardened warriors who had truly experienced the baptism of death countless times!

As the team continued to penetrate deeper.

"Hiss—!"

Piercing insect chirps sounded from all directions.

In the chambers in front, behind, and even above the flesh-filled corridor.

A massive amount of Termagants, Termagants, tall Warrior-bugs, and even Zoanthropes floating in mid-air, emitting green psychic light, began to swarm out like a tide!

The Mothership's honor guard had finally encircled them.

"Everyone, attention! Single-line defensive formation! Crossfire network!" Ming Shen roared.

The players did not panic in the slightest.

The front row quickly raised their riot shields, and the heavy firepower in the back row immediately opened fire.

Plasma beams, Bolter rounds, and laser rays wove into an airtight web of death within the narrow corridor, mowing down the rushing Tyranid swarm like cutting wheat, layer by layer.

Lucas watched this textbook-perfect firepower advance of the mortal group, silently clenched his fist, and joined the ranks of the clearing operation.
