83: Blood Demon

Chapter 83 Blood Demon

Bang!

Bang!

Dick brandished his whip, and the two white horses in front whinnied in pain, their speed increasing.

The carriage shook violently. The sudden change confused Elizabeth inside the carriage, and Cecilia immediately frowned and asked:

"Dick, what happened... Why are we running away in such a panic?"

"With Master Exorcism Donald here, there's no need to panic like this..."

Facing the two women's questions, Dick didn't turn back, but said sternly: "Uncle Donald just sent a message, asking me to take you away immediately. He is covering the rear."

"Covering, covering the rear? Isn't that evil spirit already like a turtle in a jar, easily handled by Donald?"

Elizabeth was a bit confused. After all, the situation just now was excellent, and she was preparing to watch a ghost-slaying show. How did things suddenly take a big turn for the worse?

"The evil spirit in the Clock Tower is not a Blood Wraith," Dick said solemnly, his voice slow: "It's a Blood Demon!"

When the arrow shot by Donald was firmly caught by the ghost hand, Dick knew it was over, because this was not something a Blood Wraith should be able to do at all.

No matter how much Ina mutated, or how gifted she was, as long as she was still a Blood Wraith, she could never be this incredibly powerful.

So there was only one answer: Ina had completed her evolution. She had evolved from a Blood Wraith into a Blood Demon!

And Know Yourself and Your Enemy also confirmed this. After seeing that hand, Ina's identity information immediately appeared in Dick's vision.

"Name": Ina Tus.

"Race": Ghost.

"Type": Blood Demon.

"Level": 57.

"Recent Encounters": Using the """Blood Sacrifice Soul Nourishment""" formation to nourish her soul body, she successfully broke through to become a Blood Demon and is about to begin a massacre.

Level fifty-seven?!

This had far exceeded Dick's expectations. Tonight's plan was unlikely to work anymore. Compared to a Blood Wraith, a Blood Demon's strength had undergone a qualitative change.

Even if Donald's arrow hit Ina directly, it might be difficult to severely wound her, and those Exorcism formations would be completely ineffective.

"How could it be a Blood Demon? That's a terrifying evil spirit from legends. Historical records say, when a Blood Demon appears, a city is emptied..." Elizabeth murmured to herself.

Cecilia, however, was a bit confused. "Could we have misread it? My Royal Family's ghost-controlling techniques aren't high-level, and Royal Uncle Tom isn't a professional ghost nurturer. How could he possibly create a Blood Demon..."

Hearing this, Dick remained silent. He was also very surprised why Ina had become a Blood Demon. This didn't make sense.

If a Blood Demon is to be artificially nurtured, it would require a ghost nurturer of at least level sixty to do so!

With Old Tom's amateurish ghost-nurturing techniques, it was impossible for him to nurture Ina into a Blood Demon. There were no related techniques recorded in "White Gull Annotation, Collection of Ancient Soul Nurturing Arts" either.

So did Ina naturally develop into a Blood Demon? That's also impossible.

If a Blood Wraith wants to naturally evolve into a Blood Demon, it must create a large amount of bloodshed and complete the evolution through continuous devouring.

And what about Ina? Other than coming out once ten years ago, she basically stayed in the Clock Tower, purely being nurtured by Old Tom's useless formation.

It doesn't make sense, it's too unreasonable. How exactly did Ina become a Blood Demon?

Dick carefully recalled the formation Old Tom had set up. The more he thought about it, the more useless it seemed. Let alone 50 years, it would be impossible to nurture a Blood Demon in 500 years.

But the reality was this fantastical. Ina caught the arrow with her bare hand, and Know Yourself and Your Enemy also confirmed this. There was indeed a terrifying Blood Demon at the Clock Tower.

With the accumulation of experience from a hundred lifetimes, Dick already had some conjectures, but they still needed further verification.

"Your Majesty, please have all the guards withdraw. Just let Uncle Donald fight the Blood Demon alone."

Hearing Dick's suggestion, Elizabeth said with some confusion: "Isn't it better to have more people when fighting a Blood Demon? My Royal Family's guards are skilled in combined attack formations and are brave and good fighters. Perhaps they can help Donald..."

"No!"

Dick firmly refused: "I believe in the guards' bravery, but their only role there is to provide blood packs for the Blood Demon."

Donald was at least a level 61 Archer. Even if he wasn't a professional Exorcism Master, with the equipment Dick gave him and his own strength, he could at least put up a fight.

But the guards were different. They couldn't cause Ina any damage at all. If they were caught and their souls devoured, Ina could recover a large amount of health.

They would recover more than the damage dealt, which was truly counterproductive.

Looked at this way, it seemed more like Ina was teaming up with the guards to surround and kill Donald.

Elizabeth chose to trust Dick and decisively sent a message ordering the guards to withdraw and set up a cordon around the Clock Tower, prohibiting any teachers or students from entering.

At the same time, at the top of the Clock Tower, a tall, graceful woman emerged from the clock face, then slowly descended underground.

"Hmm... Although I woke up a bit earlier than expected, it doesn't matter. My soul body is basically stable."

The woman wore a plain white dress, with a smile on her face, looking gentle and moving. However, her eyes were completely black with scarlet pupils, appearing incredibly eerie under the moonlight.

She was Ina, Old Tom's dream lover.

Donald stood on the branch of a magic locust tree, drawing his bow and taking aim, his expression tense.

Out of his Archer's instinct, Donald could clearly feel that Ina was very difficult to deal with and extremely dangerous.

And most importantly, Ina's form was not physical, but a soul body with low transparency, which meant physical attacks would be ineffective.

But unfortunately, he, Donald, happened to be a "Rapid Shooter" in the Archer profession, and most of his preferred attack methods were physical.

And when dealing with ghosts, only the "Ghost Crossbowman" and "Magic Archer" professions within the Archer class were specialized.

Fortunately, Donald had enchanted arrows sponsored by Dick's friendship. He currently had 99 arrows left, all of which could cause damage to Ina.

That being said, Donald still wanted to run away immediately. He didn't want to fight a Blood Demon.

Unfortunately, Dick had just sent a message asking Donald to buy time. He had to hold on even if he couldn't!

"Hmm? Where did that guy Tom go? He clearly knew that my soul body needed a great tonic to wake up, but he wasn't waiting nearby. And he kept saying he loved me, hmph..."

Saying this, Ina looked at the tense-faced Donald again, her lips curving into a smile: "Never mind, your soul is much more delicious than Tom's. A four-hundred-year-old Elf soul, a great tonic!"
