297: understated

Although the Card Maker Guild did not have any requirements regarding the factions of its members, they did have internal regulations. The Guild's Administrator must be free of any faction, must belong solely to the Guild, and must prioritize the Guild above all else.

Otherwise, if the Administrator were to become someone else's person, wouldn't the Card Maker Guild's information be easily leaked? If that happened, would the Card Maker Guild headquarters still belong to the Card Makers?

Seeing that it was Lu Hong who stood up, the person asking the question flashed a look in his eyes and spoke up to remind him to be mindful of his stance.

"Lu Hong, as a member of the Card Maker Guild, you must not favor the Tianlong Republic Government."

"You can eat whatever you want, but you cannot just say whatever you want. I am merely stating the information I know, and I am not favoring either side."

Lu Hong cast a contemptuous glance at the other person, as if he were merely an ant under his feet that could be crushed with a light step.

This glance caused a surge of anger to rise in the other person's heart, but due to Lu Hong's status, he could not easily lose his temper.

Lu Hong raised the two newspapers in his hand. Everyone looked at the color of the newspapers and realized what they were; they must be theory and practice.

Everyone present was very familiar with these two newspapers; they basically had every issue. The colors of these two newspapers were specially designed and different from other newspapers. Ordinary newspapers were simply black and white, while the theory newspaper was light blue and the practice newspaper was light yellow.

Indeed, as they expected, Lu Hong's next words confirmed that these two newspapers were indeed theory and practice.

"This is the latest issue of the theory and practice newspapers, and it contains the information you want to know. We originally planned to distribute two newspapers to everyone at the dinner after the meeting tomorrow, but since you asked today, we will distribute them to everyone now."

Lu Hong signaled the assistant holding the newspapers with his eyes, and the assistant, being very observant, began to distribute the newspapers in his hands.

When Xu Bai saw Lu Hong stand up to speak, he knew what the content in the newspapers would be; it was content related to surveillance cards.

Although the Administrator had mentioned to him before that it would be best not to share the Card Maker's train of thought regarding surveillance cards, he later realized that surveillance cards were already common knowledge. Whenever he appeared, people would immediately think of issues related to surveillance cards, so someone would definitely make a fuss about it. Therefore, he wrote a paper and submitted it to the Card Maker Guild for review.

However, Xu Bai had not expected to see his paper published today.

So, everything is the best arrangement.

Seeing that the other person had received the newspaper and seen the content, Xu Bai spoke up.

"I believe I have already given you an answer to your question. Do you have any other questions?"

Upon hearing Xu Bai's words, the other person's face turned green and white with anger, feeling that Xu Bai was mocking him.

However, he also knew that he could not make things difficult for Xu Bai anymore, so he could only shake his head to indicate that he had no questions.

The others in the audience looked at the newspapers in their hands and admired Xu Bai immensely.

Some people even felt that Xu Bai had long anticipated this situation and had made an arrangement with the Card Maker Guild, just waiting for someone to ask a question so he could slap their face.

Regarding this, Xu Bai could only say that he had anticipated someone might ask about surveillance cards, but he had not expected this current situation.

Furthermore, this was all a coincidence; he was also very surprised that the Card Maker Guild published his paper in public today.

Although he had submitted the paper to the Card Maker Guild, it was only so that the upper management of the Guild would know about it, and so that someone could verify his claims when he argued with others. He had not expected his paper to be published so quickly. When did their efficiency become so fast? Didn't papers usually have to wait for a while before being published?

It could only be said that Xu Bai happened to be at the right time; with so many Card Makers gathered here, and the people who reviewed papers and issued newspapers being right here, the efficiency was much higher.

"Does anyone else have any questions?"

No one in the audience spoke up.

There was no way around it; the scene with the previous person had sounded an alarm for them. At the same time, they had already asked the questions they needed to ask, and their attention was now focused on the newspapers in their hands.

No one continued to ask questions, and Xu Bai smiled and announced the end of the report meeting.

A round of applause rang out in the lecture hall.

...

After finishing the report, Xu Bai left the venue from the back of the lecture hall and returned to his hotel room.

Collapsing on the sofa, Xu Bai felt as tired as if he had run a thousand meters. Now he didn't want to do anything; he just wanted to sleep quietly.

The room was quiet, and Xu Bai's breathing gradually became steady. The light streaming through the curtains was very soft. In this comfortable environment, Xu Bai gradually drifted into a dream.

...

When Xu Bai woke up again, the room was pitch black. He turned on the electric light and checked his watch, then let out a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, it was just because it gets dark a bit quickly in winter, which is why it was so dark now.

The time was still early; it was only six o'clock, and the banquet tonight wouldn't start until seven.

Xu Bai had used his last bit of strength to crawl into bed to sleep, so he was still wearing the clothes from the report meeting, which had now become wrinkled.

After washing up, Xu Bai changed into his formal attire for the banquet. He examined his handsome face in the mirror and nodded with satisfaction.

Hmm.

Looking at this face, he could feel his young body. Thinking about it this way, the days ahead were still long, so there was no need to be too anxious.

Opening the door, he found someone waiting for him. Although Xu Bai didn't know the person's name, he knew who the person belonged to.

The person was one of Bai Shan's guards, waiting here for him; it was likely that Bai Shan had something to tell him.

Actually, Xu Bai also had guards, but they were not in the open; they were in the shadows. One must know that this hotel was the Government's own hotel and would not host ordinary people.

At the same time, the hotel was now fully equipped with surveillance outside of the individual rooms to prevent any accidents from happening to Xu Bai and the others.

Therefore, they were very safe in this hotel.

The person at the door led Xu Bai from the door of his room to Bai Shan's room.

Bai Shan was currently sitting in the room drinking tea. Seeing Xu Bai arrive, he greeted him while pouring tea for Xu Bai.

"You've arrived."

"Has something happened?"

Xu Bai sat down opposite Bai Shan, waiting for him to speak.

"I just wanted to tell you the identity of the person who stood up to make things difficult for you today."
