5: First day of opening

The sky was clear and bright, and the gentle breeze was pleasant. To have such weather in the scorching summer was a good start.

In the south, it was either blazing hot, with the sun so intense you could cook directly on it, and the air shimmering from the heat on the road—that was visible heat. Or, it was a typhoon passing through, bringing heavy rain and strong winds all at once, making it chilly and possibly causing colds.

So, today was a rare good day.

Checking today's calendar, it showed that it was suitable for marriage, moving, wealth accumulation, grave relocation, construction, and door installation, among other things. It was not suitable for raising beams, burials, funerals, or business trips. After reading it, Xu Bai smiled, believing his first day of opening the shop today should bring good returns.

After breakfast, Xu Bai carried his younger brother Xu Le in his left arm, and led the dog, Fugui, with his right hand. A backpack full of items was on his back, most of which were for the little one.

Upon arrival, a two-story building came into view. It wasn't a Western-style villa, don't misunderstand; it was the kind of self-built, two-story rural house. The house only had a sign in the middle that read "Card Shop"; there were no other decorations.

The first floor was a Card Shop decorated like a small supermarket. The layout was divided into a cash register (which was a long counter) and rows of shelves, as well as a warehouse area at the back. Most of the warehouse was empty, and a small bed was propped against the corner for Xu Le's nap.

On the shelves were some cheap one-star basic cardss. Stealing these items could lead to pursuit by law enforcement, making it not worthwhile.

Higher-grade, more expensive cardss were displayed on the counter, covered by a transparent case, allowing customers to choose their desired cardss. It looked like a glass case, but it was actually made from used star energy stones, making it very sturdy. Of course, the price was also quite beautiful.

The second floor of the house was accessed via stairs from the back. Inside, there were three rooms, each with a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom, rented out to students who didn't live in the academy.

These three rents also provided a considerable income.

The location of this shop was quite good. It was situated on a commercial street, directly opposite the academy.

Xu Bai first arranged for his brother to sit on a moisture-proof mat laid on the floor, then took out small toys from his backpack and placed them within his brother's reach. He then untied Fugui, allowing him to roam freely within the shop.

After settling the little one, he placed the ten cardss he had made yesterday in the most prominent position on the counter, and also placed the cloud soft tissue on the counter.

Don't underestimate this step. For a new product to be understood by the public, the best way is to let customers try it first. Only when they know the benefits of this new product will people want to buy it.

Also, for older women, free things should not be refused. There wasn't yet the saying that 'the free is the most expensive.'

After everything was prepared, Xu Bai sat on a chair and continued reading today's newspaper.
