563: Ten Thousand Souls

Four pillars of light descended from each of the four vortices, falling toward the respective bronze statues.

One fell into the Baisheng Hall of the Baisheng Cult, while the other three fell into cesspools.

Suddenly, a loud explosion rang out!

The temple enshrining the Holy Mother exploded, and naturally, the cesspools suppressing the Three Great Demons... also exploded.

Chen De walked out of the temple that had been reduced to ruins; outside, Ancestor Lu had already been waiting for a long time.

As soon as he saw Chen De, he immediately offered up a prepared blood sphere with both hands.

"You've worked hard." Chen De took the blood sphere and merged it into his chest, then turned his gaze toward the other directions.

Three streams of light of different colors rushed toward him, and before they could even land...

...an angry voice rang out across the area.

"Kid, how dare you humiliate us like this!?"

When the figure revealed itself, Chen De saw that it was Yan Ci.

The other two, Qiang Wu and Wu Dan, didn't say much, only stating, "Give us an explanation."

Chen De repeated, "You want an explanation?"

"What, is that not allowed?"

Having failed twice in a row with his incarnations to stop him, Yan Ci naturally felt he had lost face.

Especially this time with Chen De, who had even split him in half with a single saber strike at the end.

Although Wu Dan was currently in the same camp as Chen De, he didn't speak up for him at this moment.

Just as he had said at the beginning, he needed an explanation.

Being soaked in a cesspool for decades—any normal person would be furious.

"Fine, then I'll give you an explanation."

Chen De said, then turned his gaze toward Ancestor Lu.

As Chen De's avatar, Ancestor Lu naturally knew what this meant.

He immediately chose to end his own life on the spot, turning into blood qi and merging into Chen De's body.

"Now that he's dead, is this explanation enough, everyone?"

Chen De actually felt quite pained by Ancestor Lu's death. Putting everything else aside, how could he not be moved after over a hundred years of devoted service?

But a mistake was a mistake; Chen De was brave enough to admit his faults and would not shield his own from responsibility.

Looking at the explanation Chen De gave, the words "Are you mocking me?" were practically written all over Qiang Wu and Yan Ci's faces.

However, Wu Dan took the opportunity to accept the gesture; after all, the two of them were temporarily on the same side.

Now that all four of them were unsealed, was it time for a fight to decide the winner?

In an instant, the atmosphere between the two sides became tense once again.

"There's no need for that, no need for that. Let's value harmony, let's value harmony!"

At that moment, Chen De suddenly spoke up to break the silence. With a serious expression, he said, "I've always believed that fighting and killing are undesirable. Why don't we find a place to sit down, have some tea, and have a good chat?"

"After all, communication is the best way to resolve things."

Swish!

Then, a flash of saber light flickered, and a strand of severed hair drifted gently to the ground.

Qiang Wu was seen blocking with a long spear, no longer standing in his original position.

Chen De's saber was still very fast; even against an opponent of this level, a sneak attack like that seemed to have some effect.

At the very least, the severed hair on the ground proved that the other party couldn't completely react to his strike.

Thus, a great battle was on the verge of breaking out, and both sides immediately clashed.

Yan Ci's opponent was Wu Dan; the two of them had been at odds since the moment they arrived.

So, Chen De's opponent was naturally Qiang Wu, and given the recent sneak attack, it seemed natural for them to be fighting.

In truth, Chen De had the ability to finish off his opponent in just a few moves.

After all, in the outside world, there was a gap of two realms between them.

Such a vast difference wasn't easily bridged even in here.

Chen De's methods were beyond what Qiang Wu could imagine or handle.

The reason he didn't do so now was partly because he didn't want to stand out too much, and partly because he felt things weren't that simple.

Thus, after both sides had exchanged several hundred moves...

...the anomaly in the sky still hadn't dispersed, but continued to undergo further changes.

The four vortices moved simultaneously toward a central point between them.

Then they began to touch and blend, merging into a single, much larger vortex.

Countless light orbs loomed within the vortex, varying in color and size.

Naturally, the four Legends on the field noticed such a massive change.

However, they didn't choose to stop fighting, merely diverting a portion of their attention to observe these events.

If they weren't mistaken, those light orbs were the ones that entered the space after a Descender died.

Why were they appearing here now?

Then, these light orbs poured down, seemingly launching an attack on the four of them.

In mid-air, they all transformed into human figures.

After an initial clash, the Four Immortals discovered that these figures maintained the combat power they had possessed in this world just before they died.

Countless Descenders were now attacking them; the strong ones were at the Legendary Level, while the weak ones had no cultivation at all.

So, facing these opponents, they could wipe out a large group with just a single ordinary attack.

But soon, the strongest light orb appeared—it was Lu Li!

"Yan Zhi, how much I trusted you, yet you dared to betray me."

As soon as he appeared, he went straight for Chen De among the four Legends.

If one were to ask whom he hated most and who he least wanted to see become Ancestor Wuguang's disciple, it was undoubtedly Yan Zhi.

Chen De showed utter disdain for the attack Lu Li launched at him.

His strength was at the peak of the Legendary Level, but in the end, he couldn't withstand a single move from the Legend Realm.

Chen De simply brought down the ten thousand beast saber and split him in two.

But the trouble seemed to lie here: those light orbs were as if they couldn't die at all.

No matter how they were dispersed, they would eventually reconvene.

As for Lu Li, every time he recovered, he would aim specifically at Chen De.

This continued for a long time, and after almost all the light orbs had been dispersed once, another anomaly occurred.

All these light orbs were sucked back into the vortex, and soon not a single one remained on the field.

The light orbs actually began to merge within the vortex.

Big spheres swallowed small ones, and small ones swallowed even bigger ones.

By the time all the light orbs had merged into one, its size had expanded to a massive degree.

Then the light orb began to shrink, and shrink... until it shrank into a normal human form.

Regardless of anything else, the aura emanating from this human figure was already beyond what a Legend could compare to.

Finally, it manifested in the image of Lu Li, perhaps because Lu Li was the strongest among the many light orbs.

It slowly descended, and the four Legends below all moved away from it.

No one was a fool; they could tell who was easy to deal with and who wasn't.

So, what was the next test? Was it to defeat this guy?

Would it be the four of them teaming up, or fighting one-on-one?
