155: Suspicious tin house

When Liu Ling'er and Xiao Shen arrived, they found Zheng Jinfeng lying on the ground, covered in blood. Not far from her, there was an Earth Demon Tiger, also covered in blood, appearing lifeless.

“Sister-in-law!!”

Liu Ling'er's eyes widened, immediately filling with tears. She rushed over, hugged Zheng Jinfeng, and cried out, “Sister-in-law, what happened to you? Huh? Why are you so foolish! You said you’d notify us as soon as you found the Earth Demon Tiger… ”

Liu Ling'er wept, holding the blood-soaked Zheng Jinfeng, while Xiao Shen stared at the dead Earth Demon Tiger, utterly shocked.

“If I’m not mistaken, this should be a Fourth-Tier Earth Demon Tiger, but now… it must have been slain by Sister-in-law.”

Zheng Jinfeng was only a Third-Tier, yet she had slain a Fourth-Tier Earth Demon Tiger under such extreme circumstances—this was almost an impossible feat!

But the facts were laid out before him, leaving no room for disbelief.

Zheng Jinfeng’s combat talent… was even higher than his.

“Huh?” Liu Ling'er cried, surprised by this revelation.

Just then, Zheng Jinfeng, in her arms, suddenly coughed twice.

Liu Ling'er immediately looked at her: “Sister-in-law? Are you okay?”

“Quick, give her a Healing Pill!” Xiao Shen decided instantly. They had all bought Healing Pills before; this type of pill could heal Zheng Jinfeng's external injuries. As long as they weren't fatal, she would recover with some rest.

“Oh, right!” Liu Ling'er didn't bother wiping away her tears and blood, quickly taking a Healing Pill from her storage bag and feeding it to Zheng Jinfeng.

Fearing she couldn't swallow it, Liu Ling'er even twisted open a bottle of mineral water and gave her a sip.

“Cough cough… cough cough cough.” Zheng Jinfeng opened her eyes and saw Liu Ling'er crying and laughing at her, her face still covered in bloodstains. For a moment, she was confused, “Cough cough, Ling’er, what’s wrong with you?”

“I’m fine, Sister-in-law. Why didn’t you notify us when you encountered the Earth Demon Tiger? I thought you… Oh, you really scared me to death.”

Liu Ling'er wanted to tell her not to do it again, but seeing Zheng Jinfeng in such a state, she couldn't bring herself to.

Zheng Jinfeng also knew what she did was wrong, so she showed a hint of apology: “I won’t do this again, cough cough.”

“We don’t blame you, Sister-in-law. But you must rest well when you go back this time, otherwise, we won’t bring you to the forest next time.”

Liu Ling'er's face was full of tenderness when she said the first half, but she deliberately put on a stern face for the second half, as if afraid Zheng Jinfeng wouldn't listen.

Zheng Jinfeng smiled softly: “Okay, I’ll listen to you.”

Just now, between life and death, she finally understood the meaning of living… Axe Gang selection area.

Zhuang Sanming, Tao Erbao, and a few others slept in the same dormitory. They were all martial artists, and Steward Xiao He probably put them together to save trouble.

The morning training went smoothly. Since they had already learned some of it yesterday, everyone had some grasp of today's training content. Tao Erbao was not kicked out by Coach Wang again, and Zhuang Sanming also trained in a steady manner.

Soon it was time for lunch.

“Alright, that’s all for this morning’s training. Everyone, dismiss!”

“Yay! Time to eat!” Tao Erbao was excited. An entire morning of training had made him incredibly hungry.

The selection area only provided lunch and dinner; there was no breakfast, so they all trained on an empty stomach.

However, in Tao Erbao's view, this was already very good, as he sometimes didn't get a single full meal at home in a day.

Let alone two full meals.

Having too many siblings isn't necessarily a good thing.

“Let’s go.” Zhuang Sanming spoke, and they all followed him towards the cafeteria.

Including them, there were over forty people participating in this selection, and they all rushed to the cafeteria at this moment.

Zhuang Sanming secretly planned that after they finished eating and went for their nap, he would pretend he couldn't sleep and go out for a walk, getting close to those locked tin shacks to see what was amiss.

Sigh, he wondered how Su Duo was doing. She had never done anything like this before. Would she be too nervous to say a word after entering Bingyan Office?

When he gave this task to Su Duo, he fully trusted her to do well, but now that she had actually gone, he, as her elder brother, couldn't help but worry.

“Big Brother, there are so many dishes today, which one do you think is good?” Tao Erbao was already overwhelmed by choices.

Zhuang Sanming finally came back to his senses and looked at the cafeteria food. It was indeed very rich and varied.

There was meat, but it wasn't fierce beast meat, only synthetic meat.

It seemed the Axe Gang wasn't as wealthy as they had imagined.

“I’ll have a portion of this, this, and also this.” Zhuang Sanming chose the food he liked.

“Then I want a portion of that too!” Tao Erbao quickly told the aunt serving the food, afraid she would forget his portion.

Zhuang Sanming couldn't help but laugh: “Just order what you want to eat, why do you have to eat the same as me?”

Tao Erbao immediately perked up: “Big Brother, you’re so smart and powerful, I hope I can be as strong as you, so starting today, I’ll eat with you. Whatever you eat, I’ll eat.”

Zhuang Sanming: “…”

The two of them carried their food back to where the other three martial artists were eating. When those three saw that their dishes were all the same, they started a strange “comparison contest.”

“Brother Tao Er! How could you do that? We also want to eat the same food as Big Brother Zhuang next time!”

“Why don’t we go get another portion?”

“Let’s go, right now!”

Zhuang Sanming pursed his lips, not quite understanding their thought process.

The food he ordered was clearly normal, nothing special, so why did they all act as if he had secretly eaten something good?

Never mind, if he couldn't figure it out, he'd put it aside for now. His top priority was to use the lunch break to check out those tin shacks.

So after finishing his meal, he urged Tao Erbao and the others to quickly go back for their nap. After hearing Tao Erbao's loud snoring, he secretly opened the dormitory door and slipped out.

The selection area was very quiet during nap time. The coaches had also gone to rest. Zhuang Sanming quietly walked along the wall. Seeing no one appear, he quickly jogged to the tin shacks.

There was a row of tin shacks, all locked. Zhuang Sanming went up and examined them closely, finding that the locks were rusty, indicating that no one had opened these doors for at least a year.

But if no one entered, why were so many tin shacks built here?

Zhuang Sanming walked around the tin shacks and found that there were no windows, only a vent.

The vent was very small, only allowing a three or four-year-old child to enter or exit. Zhuang Sanming, with his large build, certainly couldn't fit.
