64: Feng Zhi secretly curled up in the dormitory

Feng Zhi also lived in the Beast Taming Bureau, but not in the same place as Wang Yi. Wang Yi lived in the newly built building, occupying a large two-hundred-square-meter room by himself, while Feng Zhi lived in an old building that was decades old, with a room that was only twenty square meters.

However, Feng Zhi didn't feel unfair about this. Wang Yi was a Beast Tamer and the Bureau Chief's disciple, so it was only right.

He wasn't a Beast Tamer, and his talent wasn't high; he was just an ordinary martial artist. Although he also lived in the Beast Taming Bureau, he was only a regular employee.

However, he was ambitious and diligently cultivated behind closed doors. Just now, he had finished his morning tasks and returned, and was currently cultivating in his room.

"Knock, knock, knock."

Just as Feng Zhi was quietly cultivating, there was a sudden knock on the door from outside. Feng Zhi instantly opened his eyes and asked, "Who is it?"

Wang Yi's voice came from outside the door: "Feng Zhi, it's me, Wang Yi."

"Wang Yi? Did the Bureau Chief finally let you out?" Feng Zhi was a little surprised and jumped off the bed to open the door.

Wang Yi spread his hands and said, "I don't know what Master is thinking. Anyway, I said I wanted to take a day off to rest, and Master agreed."

Seeing the clothes and quilt on Feng Zhi's bed thrown about messily, Wang Yi added, "Why aren't you up yet? Hurry up and get ready, let's go. I haven't ridden the train in days, and it's driving me crazy."

Feng Zhi's mouth twitched. Why did his words sound a little off?

What did he mean by "haven't ridden the train in days and it's driving me crazy"?

"Alright, wait for me for a bit then," Feng Zhi said.

Wang Yi sat on a stool, waiting for him, looking out the window.

On the gravel path of the Beast Taming Bureau, people came and went in a hurry. Most of them were not Beast Tamers, as Beast Tamers were rare and hard to find.

Most were employees like Feng Zhi, with a higher proportion of martial artists.

"Alright, let's go." Feng Zhi tidied up quickly because those things were originally what he had deliberately done to mislead people, to make others think he was a slob who didn't cultivate properly and only knew how to play.

In reality, he finished his tasks quickly every day and then returned to cultivate alone.

It was just that his talent was truly ordinary; he hadn't been able to increase a single Qi Vortex since his first time riding the train until now.

Sigh, when will this end?

"Alright, let's go find Yunying. She probably hasn't left yet." Wang Yi stood up and walked out, already eager to ride the train.

Feng Zhi nodded, but in reality, he didn't know whether Ge Yunying had left or not. Wang Yi hadn't been around these past few days, and he and Ge Yunying hadn't arranged to go together; they had both gone separately.

This way, it was convenient for him to secretly cultivate.

When Wang Yi was around before, he would always come to find Feng Zhi first, or Feng Zhi would wait for him downstairs, and then they would go together to find Ge Yunying.

Ge Yunying's home was Outside the Bastion, while the Beast Taming Bureau was inside the Wall. Every time they went to find Ge Yunying, they had to walk a long distance. Ge Yunying had never invited them inside to sit; they basically left immediately after finding her.

So they only knew the address but didn't know what her home was like or who else was there.

The two walked downstairs and, as usual, garnered many gazes.

Those gazes carried a mix of envy, jealousy, and disdain.

Wang Yi walked in front, with Feng Zhi following him. Feng Zhi had long been immune to such gazes.

He understood what these people were looking at and what they were jealous of.

Wasn't it just because he and Wang Yi were good friends?

They were all martial artists of ordinary talent, so why could Feng Zhi be good friends with Wang Yi, while they could only keep their distance?

When he first came to the Beast Taming Bureau, Feng Zhi would feel sad because of these gazes and the gossip they spoke, but later he wouldn't. It had nothing to do with him, Feng Zhi, that they themselves didn't have the ability to curry favor with Wang Yi.

Of course, because of this jealousy, some people would deliberately trip Feng Zhi up at work, but Feng Zhi could quickly resolve it himself. If it really didn't work, he would find Wang Yi.

Anyway, they were already jealous of him, and he could find Wang Yi, so what could they do?

Make them furious!

Leaving the Beast Taming Bureau, the two got on the train heading to the Wall entrance. Each person only needed ten low-grade spirit stones.

"The train ticket inside the Wall is still cheap," Feng Zhi said.

Although he was saying that the train ticket was cheap, only ten spirit stones, he was actually saying that the tin train in the forest was too expensive.

One hundred and twenty spirit stones were indeed a bit expensive for Feng Zhi, but he didn't actually think spending that money wasn't worth it. Instead, he really enjoyed the feeling of continuous spiritual energy when cultivating on the train.

But to maintain his public persona, he still had to talk nonsense.

Sure enough, Wang Yi fell for it: "If you think it's too expensive, then I'll buy your ticket this time."

Feng Zhi quickly shook his head and said, "No need, no need. I still have some saved up; it's enough."

"Oh, then if you don't have enough money, remember to tell me." Wang Yi was very generous.

"Alright." Feng Zhi nodded.

In Wang Yi's eyes, Feng Zhi had always been the childhood friend who needed help, always a bit clumsy, not very bright, and not having much money.

But in Feng Zhi's eyes, he was the one who wasn't very bright.

Someone as smart as Ge Yunying probably wouldn't fancy him.

Poor Wang Yi poured all his enthusiasm into Ge Yunying, but his not-so-smart appearance really couldn't catch her eye.

The two took the train to the Wall entrance, where the train stopped.

This train could not go Outside the Bastion. Outside the Bastion, except for inside the guild, no other vehicles were seen driving, of course, except for Lin Feng.

It was unknown how that tin train could drive into the forest and travel freely through it without being restricted.

One must know that even the trains inside the Wall and the guild couldn't drive into the forest; otherwise, the driver would surely die instantly.

"Let's go, let's find Yunying." Wang Yi strode ahead.

Feng Zhi, meanwhile, sighed silently in his heart, 'Well, a day apart feels like three autumns, right? Why don't you treat me like that?'

Oh, I'm not a woman, so never mind.

Ge Yunying's home was quite far from the guild. The house wasn't big, with a small courtyard in front where some vegetables were grown.

Wang Yi and Feng Zhi stood at the door, and Wang Yi stepped forward to knock.

"Knock, knock, knock."

Ge Yunying's widowed mother inside heard the movement and walked out, leaning on a cane: "Who is it?"

Wang Yi was a little stunned. Why was it an old person's voice?

Could this not be Ge Yunying's home?

Wang Yi stepped back a few paces and looked carefully. No, this was Ge Yunying's home.

"We're looking for Ge Yunying. Is she home?" Wang Yi asked tentatively.

Normally, when they came to find Ge Yunying, she would be home and would quickly come to open the door for them, then leave directly with them. There was no other movement inside, so they had no idea that there were other people in Ge Yunying's home.
