72: The future depends on him alone

After arriving home, Father Su and Mother Su had both gone to work and had not yet returned.

"So tired, I don't want to cultivate anymore. I'm going to rest for a bit." Su Duo had felt sleepy earlier, and now that she was home, she immediately went to find a bed.

"Go ahead. I'll cultivate for a bit longer. I'll call you when Aunt and Uncle return," Zhuang Sanming said.

"Mm, okay." Su Duo yawned again, went into the room, lay down on the bed, and fell asleep.

Zhuang Sanming, on the other hand, sat on a chair and cultivated.

The spiritual energy he could absorb while cultivating here was far less than on the train, but it was better than nothing.

He had a clear goal: to enter the Alchemy Hall. Therefore, he had to cultivate diligently, otherwise, he wouldn't even be able to become an ordinary Alchemy Hall employee, let alone the manager's secretary?

To join the Alchemy Hall, he had used all his saved pocket money to pay for train rides.

The next day.

Zhuang Sanming woke up very early, as usual. He took a bucket to the guild's water selling station, filled it with water, and brought it back. Father Su and Mother Su had also woken up and were making breakfast.

Mother Su went to wake Su Duo, but Su Duo was still reluctant to get up.

"Your older cousin woke up very early. You're still sleeping in. Your father and I won't be able to rely on you at all in the future," Mother Su said.

"Oh, I'll get up right away!" Su Duo said, then pulled the covers over her head and fell back asleep.

"This child."

"It's fine, let her sleep. We'll call her when breakfast is ready," Father Su said.

Mother Su saw that Zhuang Sanming had already bought the water back and said with a smile, "Look at Sanming, he's been sensible since he was a child. Our child doesn't know how to learn from Sanming."

Zhuang Sanming smiled and then went to the kitchen to help out.

It wasn't that he didn't want to lie in bed like Su Duo; he also wished he didn't have to be so sensible. But his parents, who could unconditionally dote on him, were no longer around.

From now on, he could only rely on himself.

After breakfast was ready, Su Duo groggily washed her face and came to eat.

At the dining table, Mother Su brought up the matter of the Alchemy Hall again. Zhuang Sanming immediately became interested and perked up his ears to listen.

Mother Su: "I heard that the Alchemy Hall recruited people for a whole day yesterday, but not a single person met the requirements. It seems their requirements for employees are indeed very high."

"Yes, I heard that too. The Alchemy Hall's recruitment seems to require candidates to be under thirty-five years old and a Level 3 Martial Artist or above. I don't know what other conditions there are," Father Su said.

Level 3 Martial Artist or above?

And also, they must be under thirty-five years old.

The number of people in the entire guild who met this condition was neither too many nor too few. Zhuang Sanming and Su Duo both met it.

However, from Father Su's words, it seemed there were other conditions.

"So many people went to their recruitment yesterday, but not a single one was chosen. I guess the other conditions are even more stringent," Mother Su said.

Father Su: "Isn't that right? If it were that easy to recruit people, would it still be called the Alchemy Hall?"

Zhuang Sanming's eyes flickered. It would be great if he could find out what the other conditions for the Alchemy Hall's recruitment were.

"Older cousin, older cousin."

"Ah, what's wrong?"

Zhuang Sanming was so lost in thought that Su Duo had to call him twice before he snapped back to reality.

"Are we going to take the train back later and go see the Alchemy Hall?" Su Duo whispered to Zhuang Sanming.

"Take the train? What train?"

Su Duo had already deliberately lowered her voice, but Mother Su still heard the words "take the train."

"Oh, my younger cousin means we're going to take the train to buy things later," Zhuang Sanming quickly clarified.

"Yes, yes, yes, I need to buy a dress," Su Duo chimed in.

"Oh, do you have enough money? If not, I'll give you a few more," Mother Su did not suspect anything.

"Hehe, then Mom, give me some more," Su Duo smiled like a flower.

Mother Su gave her a look: "All day long, you don't cultivate, you just know how to ask for money. Here, but you're not allowed to buy anything next month, okay?"

"Got it, Mom."

Su Duo nodded, relieved that they had managed to bluff their way through.

On the other side, Lin Feng had already welcomed his first passenger of the day.

It was none other than Ximen Chuifeng, who had come alone.

"Welcome aboard this train. Please sit tight and hold on. Please purchase a ticket upon boarding. The fare is one hundred twenty low-grade spirit stones."

Wang Dapeng took out his saved spirit stones and exchanged them for a ticket.

It had been many days since he last took the train.

There was no other way; his child's schooling required money, and household expenses also needed money. He was busy taking on and completing tasks, and it was with great difficulty that he finally saved enough money to take one train ride.

"Welcome aboard this train. Please sit tight and hold on."

Wang Dapeng had arrived early, and all four seats were empty, so he found a seat and sat down, entering a state of cultivation.

In the past, he always came with Chu Feiyue, but today he was alone.

This time, Zhao Jie saw him off all the way to the door, especially afraid that he would not return, like Chu Feiyue.

Wang Dapeng knew the forest was dangerous, but he couldn't not come.

Taking the train could increase his cultivation speed, allowing him to improve his strength as quickly as possible. In addition, doing tasks usually required going into the forest; otherwise, how would he supplement his family's income?

He knew that Zhao Jie worried about him every time he went into the forest, but he had no choice.

He had a wife and a son; he couldn't just sit around and do nothing.

Moreover, he didn't even have a "mountain" to rely on; doing nothing would only lead to a life of idleness and waiting to die.

Only when he felt the incredibly abundant elemental energy absorbed into his body could he feel that slight sense of comfort.

The string in his mind was stretched too, too tight, and only during these few tens of minutes on the train could he relax a little.

Enjoying this moment of tranquility, Wang Dapeng's brows slowly relaxed.

A few minutes later, the second passenger boarded the train.

"Someone's here so early today?"

Ximen Chuifeng had clearly become a regular here. Seeing Wang Dapeng, he casually said something.

"Welcome aboard this train. Please sit tight and hold on. Please purchase a ticket upon boarding. The fare is one hundred twenty low-grade spirit stones."

Seeing the familiar message, Ximen Chuifeng, without a word, took out the spirit stone voucher he had already prepared.

The ticket number displayed was already past 100, indicating that quite a few people had taken the train recently.

"Do you still have Advancement Pills? I'll buy another one." Ximen Chuifeng got straight to the point; this was his purpose for coming here today.

Advancement Pills were being sold for over three thousand low-grade spirit stones in the front Walls, let alone one that could instantly raise one's rank.

Sheng Wu Dan were even more sought after than Advancement Pills, but there were no more Sheng Wu Dan in the train.

Lin Feng heard this and immediately replied:

"Yes, only two are left in stock. Buying one is a profit!"

He had thought Ximen Chuifeng wouldn't buy another Advancement Pill, but unexpectedly, he came to buy one again.

"Okay, give me one." Ximen Chuifeng took out his small box.

Inside were exactly two thousand low-grade spirit stones. The deposit he received from yesterday's order was exactly three hundred, making it enough.

"Here is your Advancement Pill, please take it. Welcome back next time!"
