149: Chapter 149 Chaos Among the Fairy Clan

The end of the Continent of Desolation's ascension path was at the Frog Demon Race; the Twelve Eternal Demon Race were only so-so.

The Demon-Immortal Progenitor was the true arch-enemy.

Having found all the secrets he wanted, Lu Hu had no interest in further exploring Ancestor Explosive Flame's long memories, which spanned at least ten thousand years.

With a single punch, this eighth-ranked Immortal Ancestor of the Fire Demon Clan exploded with a bang.

After finishing this, Lu Hu rushed to the secret room where the Fire Spirit Body avatar was imprisoned.

The Fire Demon Clan wanted to use the Fire Spirit Body to cultivate more blood food, so they naturally had to nurse its injuries well.

When Lu Hu arrived, the Fire Spirit Body was sprawled atop a mountain of healing spirit medicines, eating and drinking voraciously.

If Lu Hu had experienced such treatment, it would have been an absolutely incurable psychological trauma.

But that's how it was without self-awareness—carefree, without a shred of negative emotion, following the main body's commands, and cultivating whenever there was time.

Lu Hu took away the Fire Spirit Body avatar and, in an instant, completely withdrew from the Fire Demon Clan's holy land, vanishing from this region of towering flames.

From beginning to end, no one in the entire Fire Demon Clan except for Ancestor Explosive Flame knew that Lu Hu had been there.

Perhaps even Ancestor Explosive Flame didn't know, as he never woke up after being slapped unconscious.

With Ancestor Explosive Flame dead, no one in the Fire Demon Clan would notice for a short while; at this level, it was more than normal to go into seclusion for hundreds or thousands of years.

The entire Fire Demon Clan was still immersed in a festive atmosphere.

Perhaps only when they discovered the Fire Spirit Body avatar was gone would they realize they had lost an Immortal Ancestor.

...

Years passed in the blink of an eye; ten years hurried by.

The Demon Immortal Realm was vast and boundless, and the passage of time never ceased.

During these ten years, Lu Hu kept a low profile, silently consolidating his cultivation.

His cultivation had skyrocketed too quickly, and he needed to hurry and adapt.

Shortly after, the void vibrated. Even across an infinite distance, Lu Hu could feel an extreme, bloody baleful aura.

Lu Hu opened his eyes, and a projection appeared.

Its entire body was smooth and snow-white, yet it was stained with the lingering blood qi of living beings; those tiger eyes were terrifyingly calm.

Among the many avatars, the only one with consciousness, White Tiger, had returned.

However, his changes were significant; it was unknown what he had experienced over these past hundred years.

The White Tiger projection pointed a finger, and a beam of light surged into Lu Hu's sea of consciousness.

Closing his eyes again, Lu Hu digested the information sent by White Tiger.

The White Demon Clan had descended to the lower realms solely to harvest the essence and blood of living beings. As a White Demon Clan avatar, White Tiger had followed them; wherever they went, not a blade of grass remained. Mountains collapsed, rivers stopped flowing, and no race was spared—all died miserably under the demons' butcher knives. A vast, vibrant world was turned into a desolate wasteland, its spiritual energy cut off, its vitality zeroed out, without a single trace of life left.

"Main body, I am a bit tired," the White Tiger avatar spoke.

Lu Hu said nothing, his heart exceptionally heavy.

"I shall take my leave first." The White Tiger avatar gave Lu Hu another wisp of spiritual light and then dissipated.

Lu Hu accepted the spiritual light. After a long time, he took out the cross-realm teleportation jade and struck the spiritual light onto it.

These were the world coordinates of the lower realm the White Tiger avatar had visited.

As long as there were coordinates, the cross-realm teleportation jade could reach it.

Lu Hu wanted to go and see for himself.

...

The sky was cracked like broken porcelain, its light swallowed by chaos.

Rivers were steamed dry, mountains subsided, and the earth was fractured inch by inch. Even the last trace of moisture was sucked dry by the deathly silence. The skeletons of birds were scattered on the scorched earth, and the flesh of beasts had long since weathered away. Everything returned to nothingness, without a shred of life.

There were no wails, no embers, no wind, and no light.

All spirits were extinguished, all living beings returned to dust; only an absolute desolation and cold remained. The earth was as silent as a grave, with no life left to prove this world had ever been vibrant.

Time seemed frozen, and all things returned to the starting point. Only an eternal void remained, washing over every inch of the perished land.

Lu Hu watched for a long time, then turned and left silently.

...

Returning to the upper realm, Lu Hu couldn't help but think of the Continent of Desolation.

The tragic state of that world was merely one of the many tragedies caused by the Demon Immortal Clan every time they descended to the lower realms.

If the Demon Race completely recovered the coordinates of the Continent of Desolation and sent an army down, such a scene of purgatory on earth might also appear.

With his own strength, self-preservation might be possible.

But the Continent of Desolation, even with an Immortal-level combatant like Young Ancestor Xuan, was still as small as dust before the Demon Immortal Clan.

If one had no relatives or friends, and lived a life without even a living thing by one's side, would it have any meaning?

Lu Hu didn't know; he had never had such an experience.

He also didn't want such a thing to happen.

Therefore...

Lu Hu's gaze was cold.

He could only get rid of the Demon Immortal Clan.

Great Avatar Technique!

Explode with your potential.

Lu Hu once again continuously activated the Great Avatar Technique.

Avatar after avatar was born, infiltrating various regions of the Demon Immortal Realm, spreading across mountains, secret realms, and sect ruins, penetrating the major demon clans of the Demon Immortal Realm.

Into the Thirty-Six Upper Demon Races and the Seventy-Two Lower Demon Races, Lu Hu constantly sent in avatar undercovers.

The demon clans of the Demon Immortal Realm also sensed something was wrong.

After all, Lu Hu's avatars had no self-awareness; no matter how perfect the set survival method was, there would still be certain flaws.

A small number might not be exposed, but once they were discovered, the sheer scale of the base number became apparent.

Once an undercover was discovered, they had to be killed immediately.

But then something bizarre happened.

Not long after killing one undercover, the demon clans would find that there seemed to be many similar undercovers within their ranks. Upon investigation, it turned out to be true.

For a time, some demon clan powerhouses felt uneasy.

They began to investigate secretly, only to find that often, after killing one undercover, two or three new suspected undercovers would be discovered in the blink of an eye.

As more and more demon clan powerhouses noticed the abnormality and gathered to exchange their findings, they discovered something that made their scalps tingle.

Those bizarre undercovers were in every demon clan, in massive numbers. Moreover, in recent years, the various demon clans had also frequently captured Immortal Path beings.

These Immortal Path beings were of all sorts, but they all seemed to share a common characteristic; upon careful study, they even felt somewhat similar to the avatars undercover in their demon clans.

They were pervasive and everywhere.

This was a very terrifying thing.

The demon clan experts were terrified; this might be a mysterious Immortal Path powerhouse who, using a heaven-defying avatar technique, was going undercover in the entire Demon Immortal Clan.

The horrifying number of avatars grew day by day, showing a momentum that threatened to completely cover the Demon Immortal Realm!

What was this for?

What kind of trouble was this?

As the middle and upper-level combat power of the Demon Immortal Clan, let alone all of them, nearly ninety percent of the demon clans had personally participated in the campaign that wiped out the Immortal Path.

They were the true culprits behind the near-extinction of Immortal Path beings.

And to this day, they still frequently descended to the lower realms to harvest blood food.

Now, such an Immortal Path powerhouse had appeared.

...

All of a sudden, panic spread through the Demon Immortal Realm. The major Upper Demon Races were on high alert but felt helpless.

There were too many; that Immortal Path powerhouse's avatars were simply too numerous.

Looking at the younger generation, everyone they saw looked like an undercover!

How were they supposed to handle this?

They couldn't possibly kill the entire younger generation.

Without a younger generation, how could the Demon Immortal Clan develop?

Continuous death?

"Heh, so they all know now?"

Lu Hu cut off a new constitution avatar. "This is just the beginning."

Subsequently, Lu Hu gave an order to the avatars whose cultivation was not low: no need to hide excessively; if there is an opportunity, slay one or two of the Demon Immortal Clan's middle-to-high-end combatants.

As Lu Hu's order went out, the Demon Immortal Clan became even more chaotic. Supreme Profound and Immortal-level Demon Immortals were constantly being assassinated by experts who suddenly lunged out. Those assassins didn't care about their own lives at all, intent only on taking their targets down with them.

And rightly so; if they died, they died, but those assassins might just be avatars. How could that mysterious Immortal Path grandmaster care?

"Seclusion! This ancestor is going into death-seclusion! Even if the clan is wiped out, do not call me!"

Some demon clan powerhouses had no choice but to make such a decision, and they couldn't even reveal the location of their seclusion.

This was a matter of necessity.

Without seclusion, they could be ambushed and killed by assassins at any time.

Even with ordinary seclusion, their location could be found by assassins for an attack.

Only death-seclusion, completely cutting off contact with the outside world so that only they knew their location, could prevent such things from happening.

The demon clan upper echelons were ignoring affairs, and the ordinary demon clans lacked the strength.

With no one to stop Lu Hu, the spread of the avatars became even more exaggerated.

Now, those high-and-mighty Twelve Eternal Demon Races, who did not interfere in worldly disputes, could no longer sit still.

This phenomenon was nearly shaking the foundation of the Demon Immortal Clan and had to be stopped.

In terms of individual combat power and clan heritage, the Twelve Eternal Demon Race might not be able to match the top-tier clans among the Thirty-Six Upper Demon Races.

But they reigned supreme over all demon clans and secretly controlled the order of the Demon Immortal Realm, and they didn't rely on strength alone.

Standing behind them was the very origin of the Demon Immortal Clan.

The Demon-Immortal Progenitor!

That was the true master of the Demon Immortal Clan!

"Ordinary means are already useless, and the Upper Demon Races are helpless. If we continue to indulge this, it will surely become a great disaster!"

"Decide then—awaken that Progenitor!"

...

The patriarchs of the Twelve Eternal Demon Race gathered; they wanted to awaken the Progenitor to completely resolve the current chaos.
