63: Chapter 63 Remains of King Kun

"This is the place."

Ji Susan arrived at an area with beautiful scenery, which was almost outside the boundaries of Luokun Slope.

"Ge-ge-ge~~~"

Ai Kun ran to a high point, spread his wings to glide through the air, and scanned the ground. After one circuit, Ai Kun landed helplessly.

"This handsome Kun doesn't have the fate for this!"

He couldn't find it!

Ai Kun wasn't disappointed either; after all, it had been hundreds of years, and so many people had searched back and forth without finding it. It was only normal that he couldn't find it!

Wu Wen didn't even have the intention to search.

"Brother Hu, what do you think?"

Lu Hu didn't speak, examining the surroundings. There didn't seem to be anything strange, so he recalled the illusions Ai Kun and Ji Susan had performed.

False illusions—their cultivation techniques were special, and the internal energy they cultivated could transform into various colors, blending with the surroundings and changing their aura, making them more like chameleons than actual chameleons.

If someone as weak as Ai Kun could achieve that level, then Kun must have far surpassed Ai Kun, reaching a point where the fake could be mistaken for the real.

But fake is fake after all. If King Kun's remains were really here, the scenery would inevitably be unreal.

"Awoo~" (Everyone, stand back.)

Lu Hu gave a reminder and raised his tiger paw, tracing profound seals in the air.

Divine Ability: Call Wind!

Leaves fluttered, trees swayed, and the wind grew stronger, making the trees creak and crackle as it blew.

Finally, the vegetation of the mountain forest was uprooted and blown away.

Ai Kun and Ji Susan were dumbfounded. Wu Wen was better off, having seen the battles between Rongxiao and Dragon Kun many times; he was more accepting of Lu Hu's methods.

After the wind died down, a large area was bare, except for one direction which was still lush with green mountains and clear waters!

"Awoo~" (There's something strange here.)

Lu Hu observed carefully. His wind was targeted; any ordinary tree should have been blown down. The trees here didn't fall, and their stability was far beyond normal, so there was definitely a problem!

"This mountain... looking from here, it looks like a giant Kun!"

Wu Wen said, pointing at one of the peaks. Ai Kun and Ji Susan snapped out of it and hurriedly looked over.

"Ge-ge-ge——!"

Ai Kun crowed and struck a pose, which was strikingly similar to the general shape of the mountain.

"It really is a Kun!"

Wu Wen looked incredulous. "Could it be that this mountain is King Kun's remains?"

This mountain was even larger than Dragon Kun. Even if King Kun had broken through the Grandmaster rank, he shouldn't have been able to become this large!

Could he actually rival Dragon Kun?

"Awoo~" (This is just ordinary rock.)

Lu Hu opened his mouth and threw a Spiritual Energy Ball.

Boom!

Rocks crumbled, and suddenly, the colors of the mountain blurred, shifting several times before finally fading.

"Eh~~ It doesn't look like it anymore."

Wu Wen was amazed. Just a moment ago, it looked like a giant Kun, but now, just because a rock was shattered, why didn't it look like that anymore?

It was as if... it was missing a certain spirit.

"Awoo~" (Follow me.)

Lu Hu walked into the mountain. There was a force maintaining this mountain, an energy of a higher level than Ai Kun's multicolored internal energy.

Complementing the mountain scenery, it embellished the mountain's colors, making it look like a giant Kun.

It was precisely because of this energy that the trees and vegetation here were firmer than in other places and hadn't been blown down by the wind.

His Spiritual Energy Ball just now had broken the cycle of this energy. Without the energy's support, the embellishing colors dissipated, and the mountain returned to its original appearance, so it no longer looked like a giant Kun.

Lu Hu arrived before a massive rock. Once the cycle was interrupted, the aura of King Kun's remains was no longer concealed, and Lu Hu sensed it easily.

"This aura..."

After Wu Wen pressed his face against the rock, he detected that fierce aura. It was the lingering prestige of King Kun; even after hundreds of years, it was still so terrifying.

Before King Kun died all those years ago, had he truly surpassed the rank of Grandmaster?

"Awoo~" (Tear it down.)

Lu Hu said.

Boom!

Wu Wen punched with his left hand, shattering the large rocks, and with a wave of his right hand, his true qi swept the debris aside.

A Grandmaster's body is comparable to profound iron and far harder than rock. With the addition of true qi, it was simply unreasonable.

Wu Wen forced his way through, hammering out a hundred-meter passage until finally, the internal space was revealed.

"Ge-ge-ge——!"

The moment the internal space was breached, a Kun's cry rang out. It was extremely piercing, making one's scalp tingle.

Wu Wen immediately assumed a defensive stance, but nothing happened!

"Awoo~" (It's a sound stored within the space. It might have been looping for hundreds of years and was released once opened!)

Lu Hu said, certain that there were no living creatures inside.

Then, Lu Hu raised a paw and threw a ball of fire inside, illuminating the pitch-black space.

A skeleton dozens of meters tall stood in the center, and the ground was covered with multicolored feathers.

After so much time, the feathers turned to dust upon contact with the outside air.

"Is this King Kun's remains~"

Wu Wen stepped forward and circled the skeleton. The bones were pure white like jade and seemed to glow in the dim environment.

"These are no longer the bones of a Grandmaster."

Wu Wen was a Grandmaster himself, and he admitted that his own bones were far inferior to this skeleton.

Even just lightly polishing a bone from this skeleton would make it comparable to the legendary divine weapons spoken of in the martial world.

Especially these two pairs of chicken claws. Wu Wen's expression was grave; King Kun's claws possessed an extremely strong baleful aura that hadn't dissipated even after hundreds of years. This pair of claws was enough to rank among the top ten divine weapons.

Wu Wen picked up a piece of beast skin from the ground.

"This is the Kun Art of the Ji Kun clan, and it contains King Kun's insights."

Wu Wen handed it to Lu Hu. Lu Hu glanced at it, found it useless for himself, and tossed it to Ai Kun, returning it to its rightful owner.

"Awoo~" (He was one realm higher than a Grandmaster.)

Then, Lu Hu personally broke off one of King Kun's bones. The bone was not light, and its hardness was decent.

Lu Hu noticed a faint scratch on the spine. It was very faint, almost non-existent, but within it, Lu Hu seemed to feel an astonishing sharpness.

Lu Hu's eyes flickered slightly. It was said King Kun had perished from heavy injuries after a failed breakthrough, but looking at it now, he likely succeeded, only to meet with an accident immediately after.

Although he was dead, his bones had been tempered and had been slowly absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth for hundreds of years. They had evolved and could be considered a rare precious material, very suitable for crafting spiritual tools.

"Ge-ge-da~~"

As Lu Hu removed the skull, which was larger than himself, a voice filled with resentment and regret rang out. This was the lingering obsession of King Kun that had not dissipated after death.

"Awoo~" (What is it saying?)

Lu Hu amplified the sound. Since it was in the Ji Kun language, it still required a Ji Kun to translate.

"Be... careful... of... traitors."

Ai Kun said word by word.

Be careful of what traitors?

It must have been the accident King Kun encountered during his breakthrough.

Lu Hu shook his head; none of this was any of his business.

Next, Lu Hu gave Wu Wen and the others an hour to gain insights from King Kun's remains. Once the time was up, Lu Hu put the remains away.

Walking out of the cave, he looked at the sky.

It was about time; Lu Qing should be returning soon.
