56: The US Army suffered a disastrous defeat on the first day. How could they be so vulnerable?!

Besides Eastern Europe and Persia, a third regional war hotspot suddenly emerged in the world.

And this time, the U.S. Military personally entered the fray, deploying a hundred thousand troops to besiege the “rebels.”

Military commentators and enthusiasts from various countries discussed and analyzed the situation.

For this war, almost everyone's conclusion was surprisingly consistent.

That is, the U.S. Military would ultimately win, which was beyond doubt.

Darwin City, with a maximum of ten thousand people, faced a hundred thousand U.S. Military troops at its gates, and with the collective supply of global U.S. Military resources, the U.S. Military would have an inexhaustible supply of weapons, ammunition, supplies, and subsequent reinforcements.

Against these advantages, Darwin, an isolated city under siege, simply could not afford to endure.

Proponents of a swift victory believed that the U.S. Military's victory would not take more than a week, at most half a month.

After all, the urban area of Darwin City was not too large, nor was its population, and the support of Darwin residents for this war was limited.

The Anti-War Army even deliberately divided the city into military and non-military zones, leaving the defending side with almost no strategic depth. One could say this was putting themselves in danger for the sake of righteousness.

Now, the main forces of both sides are directly engaging in battle, one hundred thousand against ten thousand—a clear advantage for our U.S. Military heavenly soldiers.

Inside Darwin City, Fang Le, the head of the Anti-War Army, paced back and forth in the underground command post.

While the fighting raged outside, he could only observe, occasionally hearing various combat sounds from different channels through the command post's communication equipment, speculating about each scenario.

He was somewhat anxious, which was inevitable, even wishing he could go to the front line himself and participate in the battle.

But he knew that was impossible.

His current role was akin to a monarch of a nation; a nation cannot be without its ruler, and he could not put himself in danger.

Finally, after fighting from morning until afternoon, the sounds of battle outside largely ceased.

Army Commander Yue Hanshan and other core high-ranking officials like Zhao Gang walked in.

Fang Le immediately asked anxiously, “How is it?”

Yue Hanshan replied, “It was easier than expected.”

“Easier?” Fang Le was stunned to hear this comment.

That was the U.S. Military, a hundred thousand U.S. Military troops, and they were likely elite forces. And he said it was easier to fight?

Yue Hanshan explained, “Actually, it was within expectations.”

“Now it's urban warfare; the American military's numerical advantage cannot be effectively utilized. Although the American military's equipment is generally more comprehensive than ours, it's of the same origin as ours, so there isn't a significant generational gap.”

“Moreover, most of the American military's soldiers are new recruits who haven't experienced actual combat on the battlefield.”

“From the information I've reviewed, the U.S. Military hasn't really fought a proper war in 20 years, and before that, they primarily fought counter-insurgency wars, with not much urban warfare.”

“How many of those old veterans from back then are still in frontline command positions, with others having retired or been promoted?”

“In contrast, although our People's Army troops are also mostly new recruits, nearly half of them are synthetic soldiers.”

“Synthetic soldiers have superiority over ordinary human soldiers in all aspects. Their learning ability, intelligence, and teamwork are very strong, and their physical strength and willpower are also extraordinary. Their Mindset is stable, timing is well-controlled, shooting is accurate, and they are not afraid of death. One could say each of them is an elite soldier.”

“Saying one can fight ten is an exaggeration, but their individual combat quality is indeed far superior to the American military.”

So that's how it is.

Fang Le stroked his bald chin.

It seemed he, as the Commander, did not have a sufficient understanding of the actual combat capabilities of his subordinates.

He had previously only regarded synthetic humans as subordinates who would not betray him; now, he saw that synthetic humans were also perfectly capable as battlefield soldiers.

And his big gift package could manifest a total of 30,000 synthetic humans, with more than half still not manifested yet.

Thinking of this, his mindset became much more stable.

“So, after this first day of fighting, what is the casualty ratio between the American military and us, and what is the situation with the defense line dispute?”

Yue Hanshan replied, “The casualty ratio is hard to say. From preliminary statistics, our People's Army's combined dead and wounded are probably around three to four hundred.”

Three to four hundred?

Although this was not much compared to a force of over ten thousand.

But this was only the first day.

Fang Le's mood remained heavy.

Zhao Gang then said, “Commander, please rest assured, these casualties are mainly among ordinary human soldiers. Their individual combat quality is even inferior to that of typical U.S. Military soldiers, and they only possess certain combat effectiveness when led by our synthetic soldiers.”

Fang Le selfishly let out a sigh of relief.

“What about the American military's casualties?”

Yue Hanshan replied, “From the preliminary assessment of the enemy casualty data compiled by our side, the American military's casualties are approximately eight hundred to nine hundred.”

Hoo.

Fang Le exclaimed, “That many?”

Yue Hanshan explained, “Yes, urban warfare always has a home-field advantage. We are more familiar with this area, and our defense line deployments are secretive and varied, so the American military's casualties are definitely higher.”

“Additionally, we captured approximately two hundred U.S. Military soldiers.”

Ah?

Really?

Fang Le was overjoyed.

Yue Hanshan continued, “The American military's attack on the city on this first day clearly did not anticipate the risks of the offensive and pushed blindly. They were ambushed many times by our People's Army. By late afternoon, seeing no hope of further advancement, and with night approaching, fearing that their troops would be unsafe if they remained in the city, they issued a collective retreat order, pulling back to a small, completely cleared outermost urban area they had occupied after entering the city.”

“Next, they will likely establish positions, consolidate their occupied defense lines, and fight a positional war with us, then advance step by step.”

“The American military should not use aggressive tactics going forward.”

Fang Le sighed with relief again.

It seemed the defense line was also temporarily safe.

Only now did Fang Le finally complete the demystification of the U.S. Military's combat capabilities, gaining more confidence in his own side's conventional warfare abilities.

Otherwise, he would have fantasized the U.S. Military as incredibly powerful and invincible, just like the people of many countries around the world.

Zhao Gang said, “Commander, I want to commend two individuals to you here.”

“The first is Qin Feng, the Commander of our People's Army's only armored regiment. His armored regiment played an indispensable role in the first day's defense. Many of the American military's heavy equipment and heavy firepower offensives were repelled by his troops' constant sorties and maneuvers. With the armored regiment's fire support, our People's Army also achieved a better casualty ratio in all aspects.”

Fang Le said, “Well done.”

“And the second one?”

Zhao Gang replied, “The second one is an infantry platoon leader named Huang Yanbing.”

“The platoon he led achieved the highest average number of enemy kills among all frontline units of the People's Army in today's Anti-War. Huang Yanbing himself, according to a rough estimate, killed over one hundred American military personnel.”

Fang Le gasped.

Killing over a hundred American military personnel, and this was only the first day.

This was more than just a soldier king; he was practically a god among soldier kings.

If every soldier in the People's Army had half of his combat ability, then this war wouldn't need to continue.

In short, Fang Le stated, “Commendations. For these two, and many other individuals and groups with outstanding combat achievements, let's first give internal commendations.”

“Oh, right, I plan to create a list of combat heroes after the war and include them both.”

“Understood, Commander.”

Fang Le was quite satisfied on his side.

Inside the U.S. Military Joint Military Action Command, General Aris, a four-star general, was utterly furious.
