150: Some people wear clothes, but they are not covered with human skin.

The bed had already been searched briefly, and there was no special suicide note or anything.

On the desk, a row of textbooks stood neatly. She was from the School of Management, so they were all management textbooks, along with some literary books.

Ye Lin, wearing gloves, picked up a book and flipped through it. On the textbooks were rows of delicate, small handwriting, neatly annotated in the blank spaces next to the text. It wasn't messy or ugly; she must have been a diligent student.

In some places with more blank space, Ye Lin occasionally found one or two cartoon character drawings, but these drawings all seemed very unhappy, looking quite dejected.

And in a few collections of essays, Ye Lin also found some jottings left by Liang Jing. Besides some thoughts and reflections on her reading, there were also some venting notes:

“Why do some people not have to worry about money and can focus on studying and reading?”

“Some people wear clothes, but what they wear is not human skin…” There were many other venting words, and Ye Lin was secretly alarmed, wondering what this girl was enduring in her heart.

“Team Leader Yu, look at these.” Ye Lin folded the pages with notes in the book and handed them to Yu Haifeng.

Yu Haifeng looked at them carefully, his expression gradually darkening, “Lin Zi, it seems there really is more to this than meets the eye.”

“It doesn't seem like a simple emotional dispute; it's more like she was coerced.”

“Hmm.” Ye Lin agreed. Among so many items, there was no sign of a boyfriend, so there couldn't be an emotional dispute without one. This would have to wait until they talked to her roommates.

A laptop was left on the table. Ye Lin picked it up and looked at it; it was a very old model and didn't look new. What was inside would have to wait for the technical department to investigate.

In the wardrobe, several of Liang Jing's clothes hung, mainly casual wear like hoodies and sweatpants. From the clothing tags, they were all affordable brands, and some seemed to be from clothing markets, not well-known.

Liang Jing's phone was taken away with the body. It wasn't the kind of high-end smartphone many girls use today, but a cheap e-commerce brand.

From the results of Ye Lin's current search, Liang Jing did not seem to be from a wealthy family. An ordinary phone, a second-hand computer, and generic brand clothes—she might not even be considered ordinary, but rather in the category of having financial difficulties.

It seemed she was a child with a hard life.

While reflecting, Sun Jinghua pulled something out of a box below and handed it to Yu Haifeng, “Team Leader Yu, look at this.”

Ye Lin looked over. "Damn," he thought, "a bag with a luxury brand logo, and inside was a brand-new designer handbag."

Yu Haifeng was also shocked. “It doesn't fit,” he thought. “This child, from what we've seen so far, doesn't seem like someone who could afford a designer handbag.”

Yu Haifeng handled it for a bit, not quite sure if it was real or fake. They would have to take it back and ask a specialty store.

If it was fake, then it would be consistent with Liang Jing's current situation, as a fake one would only cost a little over a hundred yuan.

If it was real, then this bag definitely had a story behind it and might even be a crucial clue for solving the case.

After further searching, finding no more useful clues, Yu Haifeng ordered the items to be taken back as evidence and then began to interview people who knew Liang Jing.

Liang Jing was a third-year student at the School of Management. Her Instructor was a female teacher in her 30s, Teacher Wu.

Teacher Wu had been with Liang Jing's class since their first year, so she had a good understanding of her personal situation.

Based on the personal information she provided about Liang Jing and the school's records, Ye Lin and the others gained a general understanding of Liang Jing.

Liang Jing was from Huagang City in this province. Due to inconvenient transportation, Huagang had always been a poverty-stricken county within the province. In recent years, with national support, it had improved somewhat, but overall, it was still poor.

Liang Jing was from a county below Huagang City, with her home in the mountains. She had two younger brothers. Because of the inconvenient transportation in the mountains and the lack of economic sources, they could only rely on farming and selling some mountain products, so the family was quite poor.

However, a phoenix had been raised in this poor mountain gully. Liang Jing was intelligent from a young age and also beautiful. With her natural talent, she was admitted to Yuezhou University with excellent grades.

It was said that before she came, Liang Jing's parents had disagreed because they had no money. Later, they heard that Yuezhou University offered scholarships, and a student like Liang Jing could essentially study without spending much money by getting a scholarship. Coupled with national support for mountain products, her parents gritted their teeth and let her go.

And Liang Jing indeed did not disappoint her parents. She had received full scholarships every year, along with some other financial aid, which was enough for her schooling.

On the day of her death, Liang Jing had classes all day. As for what happened after class, Teacher Wu was not very clear. The last class in the afternoon ended around 3 PM, and Teacher Wu hadn't seen her since then.

Yu Haifeng also asked about other aspects of Liang Jing's life, such as whether she was in a relationship or had contact with people outside the school. Teacher Wu wasn't too familiar with this, only saying that she didn't seem to have a boyfriend. After all, a university Instructor isn't a high school homeroom teacher and doesn't manage as much.

However, Teacher Wu also mentioned that Liang Jing's dormitory relationships were not very good, though she didn't know why.

This surprised Ye Lin a bit. A girl from a poor mountain gully, who seemed so frugal, had good grades, and was attractive, actually had poor interpersonal relationships?

However, a later comment from Teacher Wu made him suddenly understand; the world of men and the world of women truly are different.

According to Teacher Wu, there's a type of person in a girls' dormitory who is very easily isolated: the pretty ones.

Don't let the girls' outwardly cheerful demeanor fool you; their inner schemes are far more numerous than boys'.

Generally, a beautiful girl, unless she's very good at handling people, will likely face some exclusion, and cold remarks are quite normal.

Unless you're both pretty and rich, able to dominate the others in the dorm, or if everyone truly shares similar interests and becomes instant friends, then harmony is possible. Otherwise, it's out of the question.

After talking with Teacher Wu in the morning, Yu Haifeng originally wanted to talk directly to Liang Jing's three roommates.

But Ye Lin stopped him, “Team Leader Yu, why don't we let them stew for a bit?”

Yu Haifeng's eyes lit up, and he said with a mischievous smile, “You're the sly one.”

According to Ye Lin's guess, these three roommates surely knew they would be questioned by the police and had likely already started preparing.

Especially after talking to Teacher Wu, they probably figured it would be their turn soon. At this point, their psychological defenses would be at their strongest.

So, they decided not to question them yet, to wait and let them speculate wildly, causing their composure to falter, only then could they elicit some useful information.

In the afternoon, Yu Haifeng took Ye Lin and the others directly back to the team, leaving Liang Jing's three roommates aside.
