Ethan could now finish 10k cycles in a day, which meant he could get 1000 mammoth-level strength.

He didn’t know the power scale of the world, though. He would be able to know once Rey got into the sect.

The next morning, everyone was ready to go. They had a light meal at breakfast and went to the center of the city.

Park had already gathered information that the recruiting process would be conducted in two phases: first, a talent check; second, one-on-one battle.

It was very simple indeed. This news was actually spread by the sect itself.

Anyone below green level should not attend, that was their clear message.

Seeing Park and Iliana still hadn’t left, it was clear that Iliana had a talent above green level or it was green.

"Do I need to go? You should go with Iliana instead."

Rey looked at Iliana’s beautiful face and his face turned red.

Iliana also got shy when she saw Rey’s gaze.

Park smiled when he saw this. It would have been best if she could get along with Ethan instead, but that one was not bad either. Someone who had a talent above green was actually very rare.

Rey and Iliana left together. Park also followed them from behind.

Rey and Iliana arrived at the place where the talent would be checked.

When Rey didn’t hear from her for a while, he looked back and saw that Iliana had a very sad face.

Iliana came back to her senses.

"No one dares to ignore me, and if they are women, they should just grovel in front of me," Nick’s face turned nasty. He was 13 years old.

Anyone under 15 could participate in this test.

Just as Nick was about to grab Iliana’s shoulder, Rey caught his hand.

"Fuck off, punk, or I’ll cut off your balls."

Rey grew up in the slum, so slangs were his daily routine. He was just trying to be a gentleman in front of Iliana before. Now that he found some bullies, his innate nature kicked in instantly.

Iliana couldn’t help but put her hands over her mouth and started laughing.

"Bastard, let go of my hand. Do you know who I am?" Nick roared.

Rey didn’t give a shit.

"How the fuck would I know who you are? Didn’t your mom tell you who you are? Or are you just a bastard without any father?"

Rey didn’t have any idea how the world actually functioned. He just acted on his instinct.

Everyone laughed out loudly when he said this.

A punch landed on Rey’s face. Rey felt like a car hit him.

"So young and this vicious? How would you conduct yourself when you become adult?" Rey heard a voice.

It was not Nick but someone older than him.

"Brother, thank you for teaching him a lesson," Nick chimed in.

"Don’t destroy the family reputation or else I’ll skin you alive. Do you understand?" the man said coldly.

Nick instantly became frightened.

"I am sorry, brother. But it was his fault. He cursed me first," Nick complained.

Iliana ran toward him.

"Rey, are you alright?" Tears already started coming out. She became frightened by the sudden attack.

Rey wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and stood up. He just coldly looked at the young man who hit him but didn’t say anything else. He knew he was not a match for him and if he did something out of the line, even Ethan might be implicated.

So he went back into the line and stood up. Iliana also followed him.

Nick smirked, "That’s right. You should have known your place. But that girl will belong to me and you will go to the grave, because you have humiliated me in front of all these people."

But then,

The man who had just attacked Rey, flew away like a rag doll, then slammed on the ground and fell silent. No one knew if he was alive or dead.

Everyone looked at the attacker who had just made that young man fly away.

He was just a kid around 10 years old. He was unparallelly handsome even at such a young age.

"No one touches my brother. I’ll make him disappear from the world."

Ethan uttered that coldly.

Rey was looking at this scene, his mouth wide open.

"How strong is Ethan, really?" this was the question in his mind. He thought he had already surpassed Ethan as he had never seen him practice. He only treated others.

"Does treating others make him stronger?"

"Who is this young man? How can he be this powerful?" everyone was utterly surprised.

Ethan followed him because he became worried for him.

He saw all this, but didn’t interfere as he wanted to see what Rey would do.

Now that Rey decided to accept defeat, Ethan needed to step up.

Ethan stepped in front and vanished. He appeared in front of Nick. His speed was just this much.

"I can see killing intent in those eyes of yours. Do you want to kill him?" Ethan pointed at Rey.

Nick pissed his pants when he saw the cold eyes of Ethan and fainted on the spot.

Ethan gave a smile to Rey, "You did well."

Rey felt extremely proud when he heard this simple praise from Ethan.

"No wonder he is my idol. He is always the best," Rey thought proudly.

Suddenly they heard an old voice, "Excuse me young man, may I know your name?"

Everyone bowed when they saw the insignia on the white robe of the old man. He was the emissary of the Heavenly Fate Sect.

Ethan smiled at him, "I am Ethan."

The old man nodded.

"Would you like to join our sect? I can make you a core disciple at this moment," he asked him.

"Sorry sir, but I am just a healer. Nothing more. And I don’t like to be tied with any power. But he is my brother. He has Purple Sword Saint talent. You can recruit him instead."

Ethan just dropped three mega bombs.

First, he refused to join the sect as a core disciple, which was the dream of millions of people.

Second, he said he had just a healing talent; then how the heck did he gain so much power?

And third, this young man, who was just punched a while ago, turned out to possess a purple-colored Sword Saint talent.

The emissary felt his throat dry up a little.
