Chapter 58: Battling a king level monster with Optimus Prime

Ethan was about to knock on Alexander’s door when a voice drifted out from inside.

"Come in."

Ethan stepped in. Alexander was sitting in his chair, reading a book. He looked up and smiled warmly.

"Did you finish your seclusion fruitfully?"

Ethan nodded. "Great-grandpa, I wanted to ask you something."

Alexander closed his book, curiosity lighting his eyes. "Go on."

"Do you know what realms come after the Emperor?"

Alexander’s brows rose in surprise. Of all the questions Ethan could have asked—about techniques, the Grandmaster breakthrough, or the Battle Tower—he hadn’t expected this one. He leaned back thoughtfully.

"We actually don’t know much," he admitted. "From the records we’ve found in ancient ruins and the realms, there are indeed higher planes of cultivation beyond Emperor. But we never managed to uncover much knowledge about them. Maybe the President or Vice President knows more than I do. One thing is certain, though—the realm after Emperor is like stepping into a different world. It’s no longer about unlocking gene locks."

Ethan nodded. He already suspected as much. After all, the human body only had five major genes. Unlocking them could never be the path to the higher realms like the Planetary Realm.

So I was right, Ethan thought. Earth really doesn’t have much information about Planetary Realm. Maybe that secret realm holds the answer. But before I expose my cultivation, I need to be sure I’m strong enough to deal with any situation.



He shifted the topic. "Grandpa, I went to pilot the Nova Sentinel today. It has great potential—especially since even non-awakened humans can fight with it. I want to take it into the wilderness tomorrow to test its combat performance."

Alexander looked genuinely startled. "You’re interested in those robots? They’re not as good as your fists, you know. But one thing you said is true—ordinary civilians could use them if we overcome the mental strain. That would be a breakthrough. Unfortunately, piloting them takes a huge mental toll. For now, it’s not feasible for most people to operate them in battle."

Ethan inclined his head. "I know. But I still want to test it, and...try something."

Alexander studied his great grandson carefully, eyes narrowing with curiosity. Just what is this child planning?

"Are you confident you can fight effectively inside it?"

Ethan didn’t answer with words. He turned his gaze to the water filter in the corner of the room. A moment later, his mental power reached out, filling a glass with water. The glass floated smoothly through the air and landed in his hand. He took a sip, utterly calm.

Alexander shot to his feet. "You little brat—you’re a Spirit Master? Why didn’t you tell anyone?"

Ethan snorted. "So everyone could come try to kill me? Right."

Alexander looked embarrassed. They hadn’t been there when Ethan awakened. They went to Jack because they’d only heard that Ethan was a super genius. He had no right to lecture him.

Alexander cleared his throat awkwardly. "Anyway...you can do whatever you want. The Hunt family’s resources are at your disposal. But take one of your grandfathers with you tomorrow. There are Emperor-level beasts in the wilderness. We can never be too careful."

Ethan nodded silently and turned to leave. As the door closed, Alexander’s eyes gleamed with pride.

This monster carries the Hunt blood. Our ancestors are probably laughing in their graves.

He chuckled to himself.

Ethan returned to his room, then headed straight to the training hall. He conjured a sword of metal energy and began practicing the Extinction Technique. For eight hours, he didn’t stop.

At last, he reached the seventh level of the Extinction Sword Art—a twentyfold amplification of power. Combined with his prior sword intent, his total multiplier reached 240 times.

Morning light was already spilling across the sky.

Today, he would hunt alongside Rose in the Optimus Prime robot.

After breakfast with his family, Ryder volunteered to accompany them as a guardian.

Though he promised not to interfere unless absolutely necessary, Ethan knew it was for safety’s sake. Ryder was a Level 3 Emperor, boasting a base strength of 110 million tonnes—a figure more than twice that of a normal Emperor level 3.

But even so, Ethan was already stronger even in terms of raw physical power,let alone those astronomical amplification,though he kept that to himself. He simply appreciated their goodwill.

Once breakfast ended, Ethan made his way to Rose’s house.

Today, she wore a sleek battlesuit that traced the lines of her figure, highlighting both her grace and her quiet determination.

He looked at her silently for a long moment.

Her cheeks colored faintly. "What are you looking at?"

"You, of course."

His bluntness was disarming. Rose wrinkled her nose and snorted softly.

They arrived at the science lab, where the scientists were already assembled. Ethan had notified them in advance.

Without delay, he took Rose in his arms and rose into the air.

Like yesterday, the Optimus Prime mecha hummed to life, its vast frame unfolding as Ethan climbed inside. Yesterday’s test had been confined to the lab garage.

Today, he intended to take it into the real world.

As the towering robot stepped onto the street, the children watching nearby erupted into cheers.

"Look, Mommy—a huge robot! I want to buy one!"



His mother laughed. "Grow up first—then you can pilot the real thing. Why settle for a toy?"

The boy’s eyes widened in wonder. "Okay!"

Behind the Nova Sentinel, a large crowd had gathered. Drones hovered overhead, broadcasting the scene live across the city. It was the science lab’s way of drumming up interest in their project—maybe even attracting martial artists.

Ethan didn’t mind. He, too, wanted people to see that mecha had immense potential.

The robot’s thrusters ignited, lifting the colossal machine into the air. Citizens craned their necks to watch, mouths agape.

They soared straight toward the wilderness. Ryder followed them at a steady distance.

Ethan glanced at Rose. "How does it feel? Your first monster hunt—excited?"

Her eyes shone. "Yes. It feels like an adventure...like something out of a dream."

Ethan smiled faintly. He extended his mental domain outward, searching.

A hundred kilometers ahead, he sensed a powerful presence—a Level 1 King-rank bull monster. Perfect for the first test.

The mecha banked and accelerated, closing the distance swiftly.

The robot’s onboard sensors, with an 80-kilometer range, soon picked up the same target. A red marker appeared on the tactical display.

At the science lab, technicians watched the feed nervously.

"A Level 1 King—he intends to fight that on his first outing? Can he handle it?" a young scientist whispered.

An older researcher scoffed. "Just watch, rookie. If you’d seen what he did yesterday, you’d know—a level 1 King-rank beast is nothing to him."

The vast plain trembled as a colossal shape lumbered into view. The monster was nearly 20 meters long and 13 meters tall—a mutated bull with armor-like plates of black bone and glowing red eyes. Saliva frothed around its maw as it spotted the mecha descending from the sky.

Inside the cockpit, Ethan gripped the controls.

"Rose—hold tight."

The bull reared back, bellowing so loud the ground shook. Dust billowed around its hooves.

On the city broadcast, thousands of citizens watched breathlessly.

The bull thundered forward, each step gouging deep furrows in the soil. Its horns lowered like lances.

Ethan’s gaze sharpened. The Optimus Prime mecha braced, engines roaring.

Just as the bull’s charge reached full speed, Ethan activated the booster thrusters. The robot shot sideways with shocking agility for its size, narrowly evading the impact.

Gasps erupted from the crowd watching the livestream.

"He dodged it!"

"That thing moves like a martial artist!"

The bull skidded to a halt, enraged. It swung its horned head, trying to track its nimble foe.

Ethan seized the opportunity. He extended the mecha’s arm. A humming blade unfolded with a flash of blue-white light.

The bull roared and lunged again.

Ethan met the charge head-on. He sidestepped at the last instant and brought the blade slashing down across the monster’s shoulder. Sparks flew. A chunk of armor split and fell away, exposing red muscle.

The bull screamed in pain, staggering back.

In the city square, a boy clutched his mother’s sleeve. "Mommy—he’s winning! The robot is winning!"

A group of martial artists watched in awe.

"Did you see that maneuver? A clean sidestep and counter!"

"Impossible—how is he controlling something that huge with such precision?"

The camera drone zoomed in as the bull reared up again.

Ethan didn’t waste time. He charged, boosters flaring, and slammed the robot’s fist into the bull’s jaw with a thunderous crack. Bone shattered. The monster tumbled onto its side, kicking up an avalanche of dirt.

The crowd erupted into cheers.

"Finish it!"



Ethan raised the blade overhead. The mecha’s chest turbines howled, building power.

In a single, decisive motion, the blade fell—cleaving cleanly through the bull’s skull.

The mecha stood over the fallen beast, steam rising from its joints.

Inside the cockpit, Rose’s chest heaved. Her face was pale but luminous with exhilaration.

"...That was incredible," she whispered.

Ethan exhaled slowly. His mental power withdrew.

Back in the city, the broadcast commentator’s voice shook.

"Ladies and gentlemen—you just witnessed history. A Nova Sentinel mecha piloted by Ethan Hunt has successfully slain a King-level monster. This is proof—proof that humanity has a new weapon."

Ethan turned the machine back toward civilization. A smile played across his lips as the sunlight gleamed off the bloodstained blade.

He was thinking all kinds a robot were present in the battle field run by normal people or martial artists. Then he went forward with this robot and said, " All autobots, Assemble. I am optimus prime. You either fight beside me or fight against me."

That was exhilarating. He should start making autobots and train people for piloting. He would fight straight to the universe with a army of autobots behind him. He smiled.

He needs to learn how this thing was made. Then he can make them with his metal creation. And he should also learn about genetics so that he can make specific robots for non awakened combatants. Army of martial artists and army of autobots with non awakened people piloting them, the battle field would look cool.
