Chapter 71 Shen Pianran is invited to a family banquet
After leaving the law firm, the two walked directly toward the car dealership.
The dealership was near the Financial Center, so the two walked over. Along the way, Tan Xiaolei kept muttering:
"If my family finds out I sold the supermarket and traded it for the position of General Manager at a company with a market value of 100 million, they should think I've finally made something of myself, right?"
"Is this car tax-deductible?"
"Buddy, I've jumped across social classes in one step, haven't I?"
Chen Ang listened with a smile on his face, occasionally responding with a grunt.
There was one more thing he hadn't told him yet: Tan Xiaolei's first step wasn't to buy an office building, but to take 50 million and survey apartment buildings near the university town. Chen Ang intended to open up the rental housing market first.
A few minutes later, the two arrived at the dealership.
Tan Xiaolei spotted the black Range Rover parked in the showroom at a glance; its paint surface was like a mirror, shimmering with a cold light.
The smile on his face became uncontrollable. "Ang, pinch me and see if I'm dreaming."
Chen Ang reached out and pushed him in the back. "Don't waste time; we have serious business to discuss later."
Tan Xiaolei stumbled, took the opportunity to pounce in front of the Range Rover, and then circled the car.
Beside them, a saleswoman wearing a suit skirt and black stockings followed, saying sweetly, "Sir, have you taken a liking to our Range Rover? Do you need me to introduce it to you?"
Tan Xiaolei turned his head, flashed a roguish smile at the saleswoman, and pulled out the car purchase contract. "This car is already bought, no introduction needed. If you're interested, would you like to sit in the passenger seat and accompany me for a test drive?"
After speaking, he opened the car door, sat in the driver's seat, and touched the steering wheel with an expression of pure adoration.
The saleswoman took the purchase contract, smiled and declined, then notified the manager that a customer had arrived to pick up a car.
Seeing that the saleswoman didn't play by the rules, Tan Xiaolei pursed his lips, stuck his head out of the window, and shouted to Chen Ang, who was standing outside: "Buddy, get in. Tonight, I'll take you to win over the proprietress of the milk tea shop at the entrance of Bin University."
Chen Ang smiled and shook his head. He pulled out a cigarette, lit it unhurriedly, exhaled a puff of blue smoke, and then waved at the saleswoman.
The saleswoman was a bit surprised, but she still walked toward Chen Ang, clutching the documents.
Tan Xiaolei was equally confused, not knowing what Chen Ang meant by this.
When she came before him, Chen Ang pulled a folded document from his back pocket. "I'm also picking up a car. Help me call your manager over."
The saleswoman took it confusedly and opened it, only then realizing it was a fully paid purchase contract for a bentley Continental GT.
She looked up, her eyes shining, and a sweet smile instantly appeared on her face. "Certainly, sir, please wait a moment, or would you like to rest in the VIP room first? We will provide you with the most distinguished service."
Tan Xiaolei was dumbfounded. He opened the door and got out of the car, grumbling, "What kind of status is this? He even gets to sit in the VIP room."
The saleswoman turned back and smiled at Tan Xiaolei, "Sir, your friend purchased a bentley Continental GT."
Tan Xiaolei was stunned, staring at Chen Ang. "Bro, didn't I say back then that I'd sell my ass to get you into a bentley?"
"I don't remember." Chen Ang chuckled, turned to the saleswoman, and said, "Just take me to pick up the car."
"Damn it... what a huge loss." Tan Xiaolei watched Chen Ang leave, still cursing and swearing on the spot.
When the two returned to the law firm, Zhong Yuanxin had just arrived.
Seeing Zhong Yuanxin, Tan Xiaolei was also quite surprised. "Sister Xin, why are you here?"
Tan Xiaolei was also a childhood friend of Yu Liang; when the two got married, Tan Xiaolei was the best man, so naturally, he was familiar with Zhong Yuanxin.
"Xiaomi has started elementary school, and I wanted to come out to work. Our President Chen is generous and hired me to manage the company's finances," Zhong Yuanxin explained with a smile.
"That's great, then. You should approve two million for me first; I want to drive the same car as him," Tan Xiaolei said indignantly, pointing at Chen Ang, who was sitting on the sofa drinking tea.
Zhong Yuanxin covered her mouth and laughed. She knew this brother of Yu Liang liked to talk nonsense, so she said, "The bentley is for keeping up appearances; just make him give it to you when you go to see clients."
"That's a good idea. Anyway, he isn't really willing to manage things, so it's a waste for him to drive a bentley." Behind the desk, Shen Pianran also smiled and suggested.
After they finished joking, they all sat down.
Shen Pianran distributed several documents to everyone; the key tasks for the first phase of the rental company were organized very clearly.
"The first step is to build the team and set up the administrative structure. The four positions of receptionist, administration, finance, and market operations must be filled as soon as possible."
"Sister Xin will lead the recruitment, with Mr. Tan assisting, but he needs to select the market operations personnel himself."
Chen Ang did not participate in their discussion, just sitting on the side looking at his phone.
Hearing Shen Pianran break down the job requirements clearly and neatly, and seeing that all tasks were being implemented in an orderly fashion,
he felt that the current state was very good. Letting these few trusted people slowly smooth out the path while working together was perhaps also a business philosophy.
Anyway, he didn't want to make it big and strong.
Lying flat and living off his laurels—with the three of them, it was enough.
Listening to the sound of their discussion, his phone suddenly rang. It was a call from his mother. He stood up to answer it, listened for a few sentences, and a layer of faint gloom immediately surfaced on his face.
Wen Huilin had actually sought out his mother again.
Chen Ang tried his best to calm his breathing, and after hanging up the phone, he continued to listen to their discussion as if nothing had happened.
After about an hour of discussion, all the arrangements were finally settled.
Tan Xiaolei and Zhong Yuanxin were going to discuss recruitment matters. Before leaving, he asked Chen Ang, "Do you want to eat together tonight?"
Chen Ang shook his head and refused.
After they left, he sat back down on the sofa, holding the tea that had long since gone cold, and fell into deep thought.
Shen Pianran was sitting behind the desk, twirling a fountain pen in her hand. Her gaze rested on Chen Ang's face for a moment, and she asked, "What are you thinking about?"
Chen Ang snapped out of it, looked up at Shen Pianran, and said seriously, "Will you accompany me to a dinner party tonight?"
Shen Pianran was caught off guard and didn't meet Chen Ang's gaze. She asked, "What kind of party? Didn't Tan Xiaolei just ask you out?"
"It's a family dinner tonight; my parents will be there, and Chen Zhuo will be there too." He paused for a moment. "Wen Huilin will be coming as well."
Several layers of emotions flashed rapidly through Shen Pianran's clear eyes, so quickly that she couldn't even distinguish them herself. The pen she was twirling slipped from her hand and hit the desk with a soft click.
"Her?" Shen Pianran suppressed her somewhat turbulent emotions and asked in surprise, "Your family dinner—in what capacity would I attend? Wouldn't that be inappropriate?"
After speaking, she felt her heartbeat accelerate and unconsciously touched her cheek to confirm whether she was blushing.
"What's inappropriate about it? She can come." Chen Ang stated indifferently. "As for your identity, you'll be my lawyer."
"Lawyer doesn't seem very appropriate either, does it? You don't want your wife to go, yet you're asking me to." Shen Pianran leaned her hands gently on the desk, her tone suddenly turning somewhat cold.
"Wife?" Chen Ang suddenly chuckled. "She is insisting on attending, whereas you are invited to attend."
He paused for a moment and continued, "She already put on a show of being a virtuous daughter-in-law at the dinner table at noon. And she just called my mother again."
Chen Ang leaned back against the sofa. "She knows that it's not appropriate for me to show my cards in front of my parents right now, so she acts without fear. She's giving me a warning; as long as she wants, she can appear in front of my mother at any time, and at any time, she can say everything that should and shouldn't be said."
"Therefore, I need you to help me out of this predicament."
