Chapter 95 Great Wealth and Prosperity Depend on Fate
"What do you suggest?" he asked Shen Pianran.
Shen Pianran pondered for a moment. After the elevator chimed, she finally spoke: "Pause all subsequent funding for repatriation investments."
Chen Ang nodded, and the two walked out of the elevator. Shen Pianran continued: "Keep the subsequently converted funds in Hong Kong for now. Suspend the foreign exchange settlement. Leave the funds in the offshore account of New Hengtai and use the offshore company to allocate assets in Hong Kong."
"Additionally, for the money needed in Bin City, use cross-border guaranteed loans. Mortgage domestic assets to borrow RMB directly from Hong Kong banks, with the purpose of the funds being fixed asset investment by foreign-funded enterprises in the mainland."
Chen Ang bowed his head, listening while thinking.
The office building was purchased using the company's own funds, and the bank loans were processed as fixed asset financing; every penny had a compliant justification.
These funds were separated from his personal assets by a layer of offshore structure; if anyone tried to trace the cross-border fund flow from a tax perspective, the trail would end at the offshore company.
"Hmm, I understand. Then, the subsequent bitcoin will remain in Hong Kong to be used in cross-border trusts or offshore funds, without entering domestic accounts directly. This way, if outsiders want to investigate, they can only find the New Hengtai shell, not me personally."
"Yes, that's exactly it." The two walked out of the office building. After getting into the car, Shen Pianran said: "I will send the loan proposal and the offshore structure adjustment plan to Zhang Qixiang later. The legal entity here in Hong Kong needs an extra firewall."
"That's what I call professional." Chen Ang smiled, took out a cigarette, lit it, and exhaled a puff of smoke, his eyes full of admiration as he looked at her.
Shen Pianran waved her fair hand to clear the smoke in front of her and rolled her eyes at him. "You'll smoke yourself to death."
Chen Ang gave a sheepish smile and immediately stubbed out the cigarette.
The Alphard soon arrived at the airport.
On the flight back to Bin City, Shen Pianran fell asleep, leaning on Chen Ang's shoulder.
The cabin lights were dim. Her breathing was even and soft, and her fingers were unconsciously clutching the cuff of his suit.
When the plane hit some turbulence passing through the clouds, she frowned slightly, and her fingers gripped tighter.
Chen Ang looked down at her but didn't move. He pulled down the window shade to block the afternoon sun, tilted his head against the seat, and closed his eyes as well.
It was past four in the afternoon when they landed in Bin City.
He drove the bentley from the airport parking lot and took Shen Pianran home.
Just as he was considering whether to have dinner with this woman, Yu Liang's call came in.
After the two spoke a few words, Chen Ang agreed to accompany her to a blind date, then left the residential complex.
Outside a Hunan restaurant at the end of Binjiang Road, the bentley pulled into a narrow parking space. As soon as Chen Ang got out of the car, he saw Yu Liang's Cadillac.
Entering the restaurant, Yu Liang was leisurely drinking tea at a corner table, with a plate of peanuts and two bottles of beer on the table.
Chen Ang sat down opposite him and poured himself a glass. "Brother Cool, did you invite me out for an activity? Not looking after your little Mi?"
"Little Mi was picked up by her grandmother." Yu Liang pushed the peanuts toward him.
"You're quite the slacker. With your wife away, you still have your mother-in-law to help with the kid." Chen Ang raised his glass, took a sip, and smiled.
Yu Liang chuckled, glanced at him, and said pointedly: "Zhong Yuanxin met with Director Xu Qingwan. She stayed at her place last night."
Chen Ang's chopsticks, which were reaching for peanuts, paused for a moment before returning to normal. "They haven't seen each other in seven years; isn't it normal for them to stay together?"
"Guess what they talked about?" Yu Liang also picked up a peanut, put it in his mouth, and chewed slowly, his eyes fixed on Chen Ang.
"What could women possibly talk about when they're together?" Chen Ang laughed it off.
Yu Liang picked up his glass and downed it in one gulp. "I don't know what others talk about, but with those two, they'll most likely talk about you. Want me to ask?"
Chen Ang looked at him, shook his head, and picked up his wine glass again.
Seeing his refusal, Yu Liang didn't say anything more.
The two drank a round of alcohol in silence.
"By the way, Tu Yuandong was summoned this afternoon." Yu Liang changed the subject. "Cybersecurity retrieved his communication records. I can get the chat content between him and Wen Huilin for you tomorrow."
Chen Ang was slightly surprised. He sat up straight, looked up, and asked: "That fast?"
"Could I not keep an eye on your affairs?" Yu Liang chuckled and continued: "Looking at the timeline, his interactions with Wen Huilin can be traced back to over two years ago."
He paused and looked at Chen Ang. "The records show that the two were in frequent contact around the time Wen Huilin proposed the divorce. Several text messages directly prove that Tu Yuandong knew Chen Zetian was his son."
Chen Ang squeezed his glass, shifted his position slowly, and exhaled a long breath.
He knew that these records, combined with the data he had previously collected, could form a complete chain of evidence. Therefore, the case of fraudulent upbringing was basically nailed down.
He put down his chopsticks, took out a cigarette, handed one over, and smiled: "Then I'll meet with the litigation team tomorrow. It's time to end this."
"Yeah." Yu Liang replied, took the cigarette, and lit it. "Also, Nickname has started talking. Tu Yuandong directed him to stalk you and also had him investigate Shen Pianran. He won't be able to escape the charge of obstructing judicial justice."
"Then throw as many charges at him as possible." A sharp look flashed in Chen Ang's eyes.
"You really won't be satisfied until you finish him off." Yu Liang shook his head and smiled.
"Then what do you suggest?" Chen Ang spread his hands and shrugged. "If they want to date, fine. But what's the meaning of coming over to scheme against my family assets?"
As a cuckold for seven years, Chen Ang not only harbored murderous intent toward Wen Huilin but also toward Tu Yuandong.
If he hadn't noticed, the outcome for the rest of his life would have been absolutely miserable.
Even if he finished these two off, he would have no psychological burden.
Yu Liang nodded in agreement. "They lack professional ethics. They deserve it."
The meal lasted over an hour. As they were about to part ways, Yu Liang stopped him at the entrance of the Hunan restaurant.
"Regarding Director Xu Qingwan, are you really not going to reconsider? By taking that step, at least you'll prove you tried, and the outcome is not yet known."
Chen Ang stopped, turned back, and asked: "Do you believe in fate?"
Yu Liang was stunned, a bit confused. Before he could speak, Chen Ang added: "What is fated to be yours will come; what is not, don't force it. I believe in this more and more now."
Yu Liang smiled speechlessly, looking at Chen Ang and shaking his head.
Chen Ang flicked the cigarette butt from his hand, exhaled the last puff of smoke, and patted Yu Liang's shoulder. "Buddy, some things really are fate. Just like wealth; it's impossible to become extremely rich just by working hard."
Yu Liang watched blankly as Chen Ang got into the car, only regaining his senses after a long while.
He was still ruminating on the words that great wealth depends on fate.
Watching the taillights of the bentley fade away, he thought of the image of Chen Ang working from dawn to dusk, slogging away like a beast of burden for the past seven years.
He was hard-working enough, right?
But he only managed to scrape by, reaching at most a modest standard of living.
Yet, by inexplicably finding a USB drive, he directly became a billionaire.
If this isn't fate, what is it?
