8: Chapter 8 Directly Serving as Township Party Secretary

Today, the entire Qin Family was very lively. It was also very festive.

Even if they were busy or had no time, everyone returned, because the Qin Family's long-lost eldest grandson had been found.

Today was also the day for Qin Chuan to acknowledge his ancestors and return to the family.

At the request of Elder Qin, a grand ceremony for acknowledging his ancestors and returning to the family was held.

Having lived two lifetimes, Qin Chuan carried himself with propriety and grace, without the slightest bit of awkwardness.

The more Elder Qin looked at this grandson, the more he liked him.

In addition to members of the Qin Family, some high-ranking officials from the Qin Faction also appeared here to offer their congratulations to Elder Qin and Provincial Party Secretary Qin Zhendong.

Some of these officials were bona fide big shots within the system. Qin Chuan clicked his tongue in secret, witnessing the power of the Qin Family once again.

After acknowledging his ancestors and returning to the family, Qin Chuan stayed in the capital for the time being.

He discovered that not only did his grandfather like him, but his Older Sister was a total brother-con and treated him incredibly well. Just look, she took him shopping again and bought a whole lot of things in one go: various brand-name clothes, leather shoes, expensive watches, and so on.

After staying in the capital for several days, Qin Chuan returned to Handong Province.

Inside the study of the Provincial Party Committee Villa No. 1, the father and son were chatting.

Provincial Party Secretary Qin Zhendong hoped that his son could develop within the system, eventually take up his mantle, become a high-ranking official within the system, and become the flag-bearer for the third generation of the Qin Family.

"Chuan'er, what are your plans for the future? Do you intend to enter politics or go into business?"

Of course, in his heart, he hoped his son would enter politics. However, because his son had been lost for so many years, he felt a great sense of indebtedness and could not bear to make decisions for him directly, choosing instead to ask for his opinion.

Qin Chuan had long since decided on his future path. Of course, it was politics!

In his previous life, he had no background and came from humble roots, yet he still managed to become a County Party Secretary. In this life, with a "royal flush" start—not only did he have sky-high connections, but he also had a system—he was definitely going to make a name for himself within the system and achieve great success.

"Dad, if possible, I would still like to enter politics."

Provincial Party Secretary Qin Zhendong immediately felt relieved. "Good. You are worthy of being my son, Provincial Party Secretary Qin Zhendong. I will make the arrangements. Get ready to go down to the grassroots level for some training."

"I will follow your arrangements, Dad," Qin Chuan replied.

The matter was settled just like that. However, Luo Rong had a slightly different opinion.

In the evening, the couple was chatting about Qin Chuan.

Luo Rong said, "Hubby, I can't bear to let our son go to the grassroots level and suffer. Wouldn't it be better if you arranged for him to work in a department at the provincial level? It would also be easier for us to take care of him."

Clearly, Provincial Party Secretary Qin Zhendong had his own plans.

"Wife, that won't do. As the only male descendant of the third generation of our Qin Family, Chuan'er needs to be properly tempered. Flowers in a greenhouse cannot grow tall; he must go to the grassroots level for training. He is still young, and it won't hurt him to endure a little hardship."

Luo Rong said, "But I can't bear it. Our son has suffered so much over these years; I don't want him to continue suffering."

After much comforting, it took a long time to finally persuade Luo Rong.

Luo Rong said, "Since you say so, I will reluctantly agree to him going to the grassroots level for training, but I want to ask, what position are you planning to arrange for him?"

Provincial Party Secretary Qin Zhendong said, "Let's arrange for him to be a Deputy Township Head. He can start from the position of Deputy Township Head and work his way up step by step."

Just a Deputy Township Head? That starting point is too low.

Luo Rong disagreed. "No way. At the very least, it must be a Township Party Secretary, the top leader. If Chuan'er goes to the grassroots level as a Deputy Township Head, I'm worried he'll be bullied. No, absolutely not a Deputy Township Head."

"Hubby, we owe our son so much. Let him be a Township Party Secretary, how about that? Yes, just have him be a Township Party Secretary."

Provincial Party Secretary Qin Zhendong said, "Starting directly as a Township Party Secretary... isn't that step a bit too big? It might not be conducive to his development."

Next, it was Luo Rong's turn to persuade him.

"Hubby, Chuan'er is a graduate of Jingcheng University and has three years of work experience. I don't think there is any problem with him starting directly as a Township Party Secretary..."

After a long while, Provincial Party Secretary Qin Zhendong said, "Fine, I'll listen to you. Let Chuan'er go and be a Township Party Secretary."

The next morning. The family of three was eating breakfast together.

Provincial Party Secretary Qin Zhendong brought up the matter of the work arrangement. "Chuan'er, I have thought it over. You will go to a certain township down below to serve a term as Township Party Secretary."

What! Directly taking the position of Township Party Secretary! Qin Chuan was overjoyed!

In his previous life, he had struggled and climbed for over a decade before becoming a Township Party Secretary. Now, his starting point was a Township Party Secretary.

Having a father who is a Provincial Party Secretary really makes a difference!

Seeing the look of surprise and joy on Qin Chuan's face, Provincial Party Secretary Qin Zhendong did not forget to give him a warning and a reminder.

"Chuan'er, the purpose of this trip to the grassroots level is to properly temper yourself. Do not use my name, do not reveal your relationship with me, keep your feet on the ground, and strive to achieve some results for me. Do not disappoint me."

He certainly couldn't use the banner that his father was a Provincial Party Secretary. If he did that, he would never get any real training; he would be surrounded by a bunch of sycophants. Provincial Party Secretary Qin Zhendong was worried that his son would lose himself amidst the constant flattery and fawning.

But Qin Chuan's answer put his mind at ease.

"Dad, rest assured. I will absolutely not use your name. In front of anyone, I will not say that I am the son of the Provincial Party Secretary."

It was just a small Township Party Secretary position; it was not difficult at all. In his previous life, he had made it all the way to County Party Secretary.

After breakfast was finished, the matter was completely settled.

Two days later, Qin Chuan's destination was finalized: Dongzhou City, Wujiang County, Township Party Secretary of Dahe Township.

He just needed to go to the Wujiang County Organization Department to report for duty, and Wujiang County would send Qin Chuan to Dahe Township to take office.

Luo Rong reluctantly packed her son's luggage. She really wanted to see her son off to his new post, but she knew it was impossible. Once she did that, Qin Chuan's identity would be exposed very quickly.

Many people still recognized the wife of the Provincial Party Secretary. She could only take Qin Chuan to the train station and watch as her son boarded the train and gradually disappeared into the distance.

Wujiang County was not far from the provincial capital, with a highway the whole way, less than a three-hour drive. Qin Chuan had no plans to buy a car for the time being, so he would take the train. There was a train station in Wujiang County.

Dahe Township was a large township, with a large area and a large population, but it was a bit of a distance from the county seat and was mainly mountainous. Its economic development was relatively backward. The entire township basically had no industry; the biggest source of economic income was planting, and then, there was a large coal mine in the township.

Township Head Liu Qiang was a veteran. He was in his forties and had been the Township Head for more than three years. He had originally thought that succeeding as the Township Party Secretary was a sure thing, but a change had occurred.

Deputy County Party Secretary Wei Dong was on the phone with Township Head Liu Qiang.

"The candidate for the Township Party Secretary of Dahe Township has been decided. You should already know this. The purpose of my call is to tell you not to have any hard feelings, to properly cooperate with the work of the newly appointed Township Party Secretary, and you will have plenty of opportunities in the future..."
