179: Chapter 179 The Burden Is Still Lighter (Quick Read)

Ning Anbang called the Organization Department Minister, Zhao Tianle, to a side lounge just as the wedding was coming to an end.

The old man sat on the sofa, wearing a dark blue Zhongshan suit, with a steaming cup of Longjing tea placed on the coffee table in front of him.

Zhao Tianle sat down opposite him, his back straight, his attitude as respectful as if he were attending a formal briefing, despite the occasion being a wedding.

"Tianle, I have something to tell you."

Ning Anbang picked up his teacup and took a sip.

Zhao Tianle leaned forward slightly and said, "Elder Ning, please speak."

Ning Anbang leaned back against the sofa, his gaze falling on the snowflakes drifting outside the window, as if recalling something or perhaps weighing his words.

"Your Organization Department needs to have courage when it comes to the employment of young cadres. For some young people, if they have ability, responsibility, and have achieved results, don't just make them grind away for seniority step by step."

"When it is time to break the conventional rules, you must break them."

Zhao Tianle's fingers twitched slightly; he didn't reply, waiting for Ning Anbang to continue.

Ning Anbang withdrew his gaze, the corners of his mouth curling up slightly.

"I am talking about the kid from Xu Tianhua's family."

"This little guy has done a great job down there. I've visited Hukuang Township myself; the roads have been built, the industrial park has been established, and the income of the common people has doubled."

"For a young man in his twenties to be able to get work done in such a short time is not easy."

"What does this show? It shows he has ability and potential."

"The burden of being a Township Party Committee Secretary is not light, but it is definitely not his limit. It is entirely worth considering putting him in a more important position."

Zhao Tianle nodded, his expression unchanged, but his heart was surging with waves.

He never dreamed that, even at his level, he would be personally instructed about a young man at the section-chief level.

He had been in politics for decades, handling thousands of cadres, and never thought there would come a day when someone would specifically bring up the appointment of a Township Party Committee Secretary at the section-chief level with him.

But this person was no one else; it was Ning Anbang.

He steadied his mind, his smile remaining appropriate, and said in a calm tone, "Elder Ning, the matter you mentioned is something our Organization Department has actually been paying attention to as well."

"We are aware of Comrade Weidong's achievements in Hukuang Township. Whether compared across the province or even nationwide, among cadres at the same level, he is top-tier."

"In our Organization Department's plan this year, we already intended to raise Comrade Weidong's level."

"A Township Party Committee Secretary, at the section-chief level, is indeed too small for him."

"If a young person has drive and ideas, they should be given a bigger platform and a heavier burden."

Upon hearing this, Ning Anbang picked up his teacup and took another sip. He was silent for two seconds, then suddenly smiled.

"Tianle, I may have been a bit impatient just now. This is Weidong's wedding; I shouldn't be talking about this at this time."

"Your Organization Department has your own rhythm and your own considerations; I shouldn't interfere."

Zhao Tianle waved his hand quickly, his attitude sincere and firm as he said, "Elder Ning, what are you saying? You are showing concern for the growth of young cadres, which is a support for our Organization Department's work."

"We will definitely implement your opinions seriously."

Ning Anbang said nothing more. He turned his head to look at the secretary beside him, his voice returning to its usual calm as he said, "Go out and see if Party Secretary Li Ximing has arrived. Ask him to come over."

The secretary acknowledged the order and turned to leave.

Less than two minutes later, the door was knocked twice, and Party Secretary Li Ximing of the Fengtian Provincial Party Committee pushed the door open and entered. His steps were hurried yet steady, and his face wore a look of perfectly appropriate respect and warmth.

"Elder Ning, were you looking for me?"

Ning Anbang pointed to the sofa opposite and motioned for him to sit down.

Party Secretary Li Ximing sat down next to Zhao Tianle, his back straight and his posture proper.

"Xi Ming, do you know about a young comrade named Xu Weidong on your side?"

Ning Anbang did not beat around the bush; his tone was as direct as if he were asking about today's weather.

Party Secretary Li Ximing nodded quickly, his attitude as serious as if he were reporting on work, saying, "I know. Xu Weidong serves as the Party Committee Secretary in Hukuang Township of Changyuan County. He has done an excellent job these past two years. The rural revitalization demonstration township, the beautiful countryside pilot project, high-standard farmland construction, and living environment improvement are all benchmarks for the entire province."

"The one-hundred-million-yuan agricultural product processing project invested in by Tianmu Group is also located in Hukuang Township, which has driven local employment and tax revenue, and the income of the common people has more than doubled."

"This comrade is young, has courage, and has methods. He is a good seedling."

After listening, the curve of Ning Anbang's mouth grew a little larger, carrying a look of satisfaction.

He looked at Party Secretary Li Ximing, his tone still calm, but the meaning in his words was clearer.

"Xi Ming, for such young cadres, you need to add more burdens. Don't suppress him just because he is young, and don't treat him specially just because he is Xu Tianhua's son."

"Promote him when it is time to promote him, and give him important responsibilities when it is time to do so. Everything depends on ability and actual performance."

Party Secretary Li Ximing's mind worked rapidly. On the surface, Ning Anbang's words were about not giving special treatment, but in this occasion and context, the meaning was exactly the opposite.

He was reminding himself that while Xu Weidong was Xu Tianhua's son, he was even more so a young man favored by Elder Ning.

This burden must be added, and it must be added in a way that doesn't make people feel like he is just taking care of a well-connected person; it must be added logically and appropriately.

He quickly reviewed Xu Weidong's situation in his mind, his voice calm and firm.

"Elder Ning, the Provincial Party Committee and the Organization Department have actually been studying this for a long time."

"Xu Weidong has been in his section-chief level position for quite some time, and his achievements in Hukuang Township are there for all to see."

"The province happens to have a batch of young cadres to be promoted and used this year, and Xu Weidong is on our list for key cultivation."

"We intend to first promote him to the deputy-division level and put him in a more important position for further training."

Ning Anbang nodded and said nothing more.

He stood up, and Zhao Tianle and Party Secretary Li Ximing also stood up.

The secretary entered from the doorway to get things, while Ning Anbang walked out slowly.

The lounge quieted down, and Zhao Tianle and Party Secretary Li Ximing looked at each other without speaking.

They packed their things and walked out of the lounge one after the other.

In the main hall, guests had begun to leave one after another. Xu Tianhua stood at the entrance seeing guests off, with a smile on his face, shaking hands and saying goodbye to every departing guest.

His gaze paused on Zhao Tianle and Party Secretary Li Ximing, and he nodded slightly without saying much.

Some things did not need to be said; everyone knew in their hearts.

Zhao Tianle sat in the car, leaning back against the seat, eyes closed, his mind repeatedly turning over the few sentences Ning Anbang had said.

He had worked in the Organization Department his whole life; what kind of people had he not seen?

But a young man like Xu Weidong was truly the first he had ever seen.

It was not because Xu Weidong was so outstanding, but because of the people standing behind him.

Ning Anbang speaking personally, Liu Dehai attending in person, and several vice deans all present—a wedding for a section-chief level cadre was turned into a high-level gathering.

This was not Xu Weidong's energy; this was Xu Tianhua's energy.

He took out his phone and sent a message to the deputy minister in charge at the department: "When you go to work tomorrow, pull out the document regarding the cultivation of young cadres. I want to take another look at it."
