45: Chapter 45 Lin Xi is missing
"Why are you scaring him?" Su Yue looked at Gu Yanchen with amusement, not expecting Lian Boyu to be such a coward; this caught her by surprise.
She was afraid that Gu Yanchen would scare him away; what would happen to Mother Gu's illness then?
"Baby, your eyes should only have me; you are not allowed to look at other men!" Gu Yanchen stared intently at Su Yue, his tone domineering and firm.
He knew that acting this way might be a bit excessive, but he could not bear for Su Yue to spare even a glance for other men.
He hoped Su Yue could understand that his love for her was possessive and could not tolerate the existence of any third party.
Hearing Gu Yanchen's words, Su Yue couldn't help but laugh.
She knew that Gu Yanchen was acting this jealous because he loved her, but sometimes his behavior really left her speechless.
"Rest assured, my heart and eyes are full of only you."
Su Yue hurriedly smoothed his feathers, her fingers gently stroking his cheek to tell him that he was the only one in her heart.
Gu Yanchen scooped up Su Yue and gently placed her on the bed, then immediately lay down beside her.
"Baby, let's sleep; I'm tired."
Su Yue had thought something would happen, so she nervously clutched the bedsheets, but she hadn't expected that to be the end of it, feeling a bit pouty.
Not long after, the sound of Gu Yanchen's snoring drifted from beside her.

Su Yue smiled and whispered, "Sleep peacefully; I will always be by your side."
She leaned closer to Gu Yanchen and gently kissed his lips.
Then she lay down beside him, closed her eyes, and enjoyed this rare moment of peace and warmth.
The next morning, sunlight spilled through the gaps in the curtains onto the bed, shining on Su Yue's sleeping face.
Her eyes were tightly shut, and her brows were slightly furrowed, as if she were experiencing something unpleasant in her dreams.
Suddenly, a sharp ringtone broke the quiet atmosphere.
Su Yue was startled awake, opened her eyes abruptly, and scrambled to fumble for the phone on the bedside table.
"Hello... why are you calling me so early in the morning?" She mumbled, bleary-eyed, her voice still carrying a hint of laziness.
"Su Yue, it's bad; Lin Xi is missing!" The voice on the other end was anxious and flustered.
Su Yue's sleepiness vanished instantly, replaced by shock and worry.
She widened her eyes, unable to believe the news she had just heard.
Wasn't Liu Xiu always by her side? How could she be missing?
She asked urgently, "What exactly happened?"
Liu Xiu said anxiously, "I went home last night. Sigh... I can't explain it clearly over the phone. Hurry and come over to Lin Xi's place with the boss; I'll wait for you here."
After saying this, Liu Xiu changed his mind, "Forget it, there are zombies everywhere outside now; don't come over and take this risk. I'll go look for Lin Xi myself." With that, he hung up the phone.
Listening to the beeping sound from the phone, Su Yue's heart tightened.
Fearing that something might happen to them, she jumped out of bed and ran downstairs without even putting on her shoes.
Just then, a tall figure appeared at the top of the stairs—it was Gu Yanchen.
He scooped Su Yue up, gently placed her on the sofa, and then retrieved her shoes to put them on for her.
"Even if the sky is falling, you must wear shoes, do you understand? If there is a next time, be careful or I'll spank you." Gu Yanchen threatened, his tone full of doting affection.
A blush rose on Su Yue's face, but immediately after, she remembered the call from Liu Xiu informing her that Lin Xi was missing, and she was instantly filled with anxiety.
"A-Yan, Liu Xiu said that Lin Xi is missing!" Su Yue said anxiously.
Gu Yanchen quickly grasped Su Yue's hand and softly comforted her, "Baby, don't panic yet. We need to stay calm and think carefully about where Lin Xi might have gone."
"There are zombies everywhere now; where could she possibly run to?" Su Yue was almost on the verge of tears, her heart filled with worry for Lin Xi's safety.
Gu Yanchen comforted her, "Don't let your imagination run wild; Lin Xi will definitely be safe and sound. Let's go together and search the places that Lin Xi usually likes to go to."
Although he had some ominous premonitions deep down, seeing Su Yue so sad and anxious, he sincerely hoped that Lin Xi would be safe and sound.
Su Yue nodded vigorously, trying to calm herself down.
While thinking carefully, she recalled Lin Xi's preferences, "Lin Xi likes to go to the beach to watch the sunrise... but, given how dangerous the situation is outside now, would she really go there?"
"Regardless, we must go and search," Gu Yanchen said firmly.
