168: Chapter 168 Preparing to Leave?
Watching Ivy slide dozens of meters and lie motionless on the ground, Nie Ning looked innocent as he hurried over and poked Ivy's butt with his finger.
"I'm fine, just sleepy. Don't you have things to do? Go ahead and get busy, I'm going to sleep here for a while."
Ivy didn't even lift her head; her voice muffled as it came from the ground.
Hearing this, Nie Ning couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
"It's good that you're okay. I'll be going then, and I'll treat you to a meal in a few days."
While exchanging pleasantries, Nie Ning unfurled the Ice Wings behind him. As if afraid Ivy would try to frame him for an injury, he flapped the Ice Wings and soared into the sky, vanishing without a trace.
A gentle breeze blew by, leaving only Ivy lying on the ground, secretly grieving...
...
The sky gradually brightened.
The startled Nie Ning returned to the manor, but he was given another fright by Norma, who was sitting by the bed as soon as he entered the room.
"What are you doing? You look like you've seen a ghost."
Norma asked, looking at Nie Ning with some curiosity.
Even if she had startled Nie Ning so many times, shouldn't he have gotten used to it after all this time?
Nie Ning waved his hand, indicating he couldn't hear, and used sign language to tell Norma to leave quickly. After all, it wasn't good for his reputation for a lone man and woman to be in a room together.
Norma rolled her eyes, suppressed the urge to strike Nie Ning with her sword, and spoke slowly: "I'm preparing to leave this place."
She had stayed in Ska City long enough; staying any longer would only cause dissatisfaction among the people of the Church.
Hearing this, Nie Ning was stunned for a moment.
"When are you leaving?"
After a moment of silence, Nie Ning asked.
"I didn't expect to only hear you speak when it's time to leave."
Norma smiled, a hint of reluctance in her eyes, and then continued: "In these next few days, I plan to take Lilith with me when I leave."
Nie Ning frowned slightly: "That's not a good idea, is it? Lilith probably won't be able to adapt to life over there."
Life in the Church was dull and tedious.
Even though Lilith liked doing good deeds, she was still a young lady of a noble family accustomed to a privileged life; she likely wouldn't adapt well once she got there.
"The Church isn't some fierce beast. There are Church powerhouses guarding it, and people to take care of her. It won't affect Lilith's normal life; a change of environment might even be better."
After hearing Norma's words, Nie Ning opened his mouth, unsure of what to say for a moment.
Lilith had indeed been out of sorts lately. The impact Bunir caused wasn't that easy to erase; she even frequently appeared absent-minded during the day.
Seeing Nie Ning remain silent, Norma sighed.
"Aren't you preparing to go to the Nales Church? The people there aren't as friendly as those in the Yuelan Church. You don't actually want to leave Lilith here, do you?"
Nie Ning's gaze drifted, his heart filled with hesitation.
Although he didn't know how Norma knew about this, it didn't matter; he was about to break ties with the Nales Church anyway.
Once that matter was finished, he would need to break through to the third rank in the shortest time possible. He might even need to take Lilith and leave this place.
After all, that was a Church. It was impossible for there to be no powerhouses inside. They would definitely send more people to capture him, and they wouldn't be so easy to talk to then.
As for joining the Church...
Forget it!
If he were an ordinary believer, joining would be fine; moving to a new place to live wasn't necessarily bad.
But the problem was, he was now the Saint!
The vessel for a god!
Unless there was something wrong with his brain, he would never join the Nales Church.
"What does Lilith say?"
Nie Ning asked.
What he thought didn't matter; what mattered was Lilith's choice.
"I told her we were going out for fun, and she agreed."
Norma shrugged and added: "You don't need to worry about whether Lilith will live well. That place is much more fun than here."
Nie Ning's eyes widened upon hearing this.
That's it?
She's too easy to trick.
And what did she mean by 'fun'? What kind of fun things could a Church have?
However, Norma probably wouldn't lie to him, though Nie Ning was still a bit worried: "How about taking me along?"
Norma curled her lip: "The Yuelan Church headquarters is all women. What would you do there?"
Precisely because it was all women, she was even less likely to take Nie Ning there!
"Then leave an address. I'll go visit you when I have time."
Seeing Norma disagree, Nie Ning had no choice but to give up and settle for the next best thing.
Norma took out a piece of paper and wrote down the address.
Nie Ning took it and glanced at it: "Moon City? Is there such a place?"
"You'll find out soon enough."
Norma said, looking at Nie Ning meaningfully.
Once the Nales Church took Nie Ning away, he would naturally find out where Moon City was. However, she feared they might become enemies by then.
Nie Ning didn't ask any further.
He still had things to do here and likely wouldn't leave anytime soon.
Furthermore, he had a Teleportation Array leading to the Fertile Lands. It was possible Lilith and the others would be in that region; if so, he could just go find them then.
"Don't forget to notify me when you leave so I can see you off."
Nie Ning said with a smile.
"You're quite talkative now."
Norma rolled her eyes at Nie Ning and continued.
"You'd better not come, and don't return to the manor recently. The Nales Church and Yuelan Church don't have a good relationship. If they recognize you, I'm afraid you won't have a good ending."
Hearing this, Nie Ning abandoned the idea of seeing them off.
As the Saint of the Nales Church, even if he didn't want to admit it, it was useless; those people certainly had their own ways of identifying him.
Since that was the case, there was no need to risk his life. It wasn't as if they'd never see each other again anyway.
Norma stood up. Just as Nie Ning thought she was going back, she suddenly walked to his side, kissed him on the cheek, and then left the room.
Once Norma's figure disappeared, Nie Ning wiped the saliva from his face with a look of disgust.
'What is wrong with these people? Lusting after my body all day long—don't they have anything else to do? Truly, one cannot be too outstanding.'
Nie Ning shook his head slightly and sighed to himself, seemingly troubled by his own excellence.
...
Over the next two days, Nie Ning stayed at the manor without leaving, keeping Lilith company.
And Lilith also informed Nie Ning of her impending departure.
One could see that Lilith was a bit reluctant to leave, as the place they were going this time would be very far away.
But every time, Norma would jump out at such moments to interrupt their conversation.
In response, Nie Ning could only return the favor with a roll of his eyes.
If not for considering the Nales Church, he wouldn't let Lilith follow Norma to that 'nunnery' no matter what.
For someone with no cultivation talent and no desire to endure the hardships of cultivation, those places might not be as good for Lilith as staying here.
But since the decision was made, there was no need to dawdle. At worst, he would just bring Lilith back later.
As long as his strength was great enough, there was nowhere in the vast world he couldn't go!
