314: Chapter 314 Corrupted Wizard

"What is this? Why is this happening?!"

The Tier 3 Wizard looked at his arms, which were sprouting blood-colored tentacles, his eyes filled with terror.

Immediately after, he began to pull frantically at the blood tentacles on his body, trying to tear them away from himself.

But the more he did so, the more blood tentacles sprouted from beneath his ruptured skin.

Gradually, the Tier 3 Wizard's mind collapsed, his distorted face becoming hideous and terrifying.

Just then, a panicked Second-Order Knight accidentally stumbled into the Tier 3 Wizard's line of sight.

"What happened to you? How did you become like this?"

The Second-Order Knight looked at the Tier 3 Wizard with a terrified expression.

But suddenly, the Tier 3 Wizard pointed at the Second-Order Knight with a crazed look: "It's you! You're the one who made me like this!"

Before the Second-Order Knight could figure out what was going on, the blood-colored tentacles on the Tier 3 Wizard began to grow wildly, then twisted into strange blood-colored suction tubes.

The expression on the Tier 3 Wizard's face kept changing.

Sometimes crazed, sometimes depressed, inexplicably showing terror, but then suddenly becoming extremely excited.

"Go to hell!"

As the Tier 3 Wizard screamed frantically, a golden light lit up at the tips of the blood-colored suction tubes.

In an instant, countless golden spikes sprayed out from the tubes.

Seeing this, the Second-Order Knight raised his longsword to block.

But as a Second-Order Knight, how could he possibly be a match for a semi-Corrupted Wizard?

In just a flash, along with his armor and longsword, he was riddled with holes by the golden spikes sprayed from the tubes.

As the Second-Order Knight died, the blood-colored suction tubes on the semi-Corrupted Wizard's body inserted themselves into the knight's corpse.

In an instant, the knight was sucked dry, leaving only a pile of tattered armor on the ground.

The semi-Corrupted Wizard did not stop there.

Ignoring the Flesh Spider nearby, the semi-Corrupted Wizard charged directly into the gray mist.

Whether drawn by the aura of living beings or because his mind had fallen into madness, the semi-Corrupted Wizard began to hunt other Transcendents relentlessly.

As he killed more and more people, the mutation on the semi-Corrupted Wizard's body became increasingly severe.

At this point, his wizard robes were soaked in blood.

Flesh covered the surface of the robes, looking like a garment made of meat and blood.

The wizard's own face displayed four different expressions.

The upper left eye was calm, the upper right eye was crazed, the lower left corner of the mouth was turned down as if crying, and the lower right corner was turned up in inexplicable excitement.

Strange dark-red skin grew on his body, and dark-red suction tubes clung to his back like twisted dough sticks.

His attacks evolved from using golden spikes at the beginning to using multi-attribute elemental attacks.

...

...

Nie Ning looked down at this scene, his expression becoming increasingly solemn and astonished.

He had never imagined he would witness the birth process of a Corruptor with his own eyes.

Yes, not a Corrupted Puppet, but a true Corruptor!

Unlike ordinary Corruptors who use Power of Corruption to attack, the Corrupted Wizard before him could actually use wizardry normally!

Furthermore, for every person killed, the Corrupted Wizard could plunder their casting ability and then use the dark-red suction tubes on his back to release the corresponding wizardry.

Seeing this, Nie Ning felt a deep sense of horror.

Corruptors were truly perverse; the source of their power completely defied common sense.

Especially this kind of indiscriminate plundering growth ability—it was impossible to imagine how powerful he could become if allowed to develop normally.

After killing several people, the Corrupted Wizard was already approaching the level of a Tier 4.

Looking at the Corrupted Wizard, Nie Ning began to hesitate whether he should kill the Corrupted Wizard or enslave him.

This Corrupted Wizard was very special; there was a high probability he possessed the ability to reverse Elemental Power, just like himself.

If used well, he would be of great use.

But another problem arose: his Spiritual Power was not sufficient to enslave too many souls of corruption.

It had been several years since he first enslaved a Corruptor.

He had finally managed to adapt to the corruption erosion from the Jerky Bear Head and the Human-Faced Balloon; contracting a new Corruptor would likely break this balance.

If not handled properly, it could replicate the scene from when he used the Black Tide.

While Nie Ning was thinking, he suddenly sensed an unusual elemental fluctuation behind him.

Turning around, he could vaguely see two people flying toward this location.

"They're here?"

Nie Ning couldn't help but murmur softly.

Seeing this, Nie Ning's body descended rapidly, dropping into the gray mist below before the two arrived.

...

...

As Nie Ning's body hid in the mist, two men arrived above the hollow.

"What's going on? How could a Corruptor appear here!"

Looking at the gray mist below that blocked mental perception, Jonnamon's expression was extremely ugly.

He hadn't expected this to happen during the two days he was modifying the formation!

Judging by the concentration of corruption aura below, the Corruptor who came here was at least Tier 4.

"Should we notify the law enforcers in the city first?"

The Fourth-Order Knight beside him asked with a solemn frown.

Facing a Corruptor of this intensity, let alone just the two of them, even two more might not be enough to handle it.

However, he felt a bit strange; shouldn't Corruptors appear in crowded places?

Furthermore, this Corruptor's grade had reached Tier 4; growing to this level wasn't something that could be achieved by simply killing a couple of people.

For Corruptors, the initial stage is undoubtedly the hardest to survive, unless the Corruptor was formed from the death of a powerful Transcendent.

But they hadn't heard of any Transcendents above Tier 4 dying in the city recently.

"No! The guild's items are still inside. If a fight breaks out, the things inside might be destroyed, and who knows if those people will fish in troubled waters and steal things."

Jonnamon refused sternly.

Such things were common; even if they knew who took it, they wouldn't get it back.

They might even be falsely accused of creating the Corruptor themselves.

Of course, it was mainly due to his confidence in his own strength.

"But it's too dangerous down there. With our strength, I'm afraid it will be difficult to contend."

The Fourth-Order Knight hesitated upon hearing this.

Even the weakest Corruptor is very dangerous to a Transcendent.

The Corruptor before them had even reached Tier 4; one slip-up and they could lose their lives here, and even just being infected would not be good for them.

"It's fine. As long as we get back the items inside, we can just activate the defensive barrier to trap the Corruptor here."

Jonnamon waved his hand, his mind made up.

Compared to the danger they would face, having no money was clearly more terrifying.

Besides, as long as they were fast enough to catch the Corruptor off guard, getting out wouldn't be difficult.

With the newly made defensive barrier, it would be enough to keep the Corruptor here.

The Fourth-Order Knight didn't know how to persuade him for a moment and couldn't help but blame Jonnamon in his heart.

If Jonnamon hadn't modified the barrier inside without authorization, perhaps this wouldn't have happened.

And it was precisely because of the barrier modification that Jonnamon had left those precious materials and other items in the laboratory.
