142: Chapter 142 Knife Knife Knife Knife Knife!

"I'm sorry, we only sell coffee here." Jiang Miaozhu politely refused.

"Exactly. This isn't the place for you to be flirting. Take a look at yourself—are you even worthy of our Miaozhu?"

"Miaozhu is mine!"

Jiang Miaozhu looked helpless; having fans who were too enthusiastic was also a kind of trouble.

The man left sheepishly.

To think she had fans protecting her; that guy was almost ready to hit him.

Can't afford to mess with them, definitely can't.

"Look at this coward, he's not worthy of you in any way."

"You're not worthy either!" his friend next to him added, twisting the knife.

Jiang Miaozhu continued grinding her coffee by hand, her hands turning red from the effort.

"Miaozhu, take a break. Why don't I help you?" a middle-aged man wearing a shirt with neatly groomed hair asked with concern.

"It's okay, I'd rather do it myself."

"Exactly, if you grind it, how are we supposed to drink it?" a man said.

They were just here for the beautiful barista.

The coffee wasn't important.

What was important was the beauty.

It was the beauty in motion.

It was the beauty glistening with fragrant sweat.

The narrow space was filled with a faint fragrance like orchids; it was incredibly beautiful.

That 15 yuan was money well spent!

However, the girls still felt sorry for Jiang Miaozhu.

"Zhuzhu, you can take your time. I'm not in a rush," a girl with a mushroom haircut said with concern.

"Okay, thank you."

As the morning rush arrived, a small queue gradually formed in front of the stall.

Jiang Miaozhu focused on grinding the beans, brewing, and latte art, her movements smooth and flowing.

It was clear that Jiang Miaozhu truly enjoyed doing this.

Most of them were friendly fans; when they complimented her beauty, she would politely thank them and quickly steer the conversation back to the coffee itself.

She hoped that the coffee would get the attention, not herself.

It wasn't until around four in the afternoon that a man wearing a floral shirt appeared.

"Give me the most expensive one." He leaned against the counter, his gaze wandering over Jiang Miaozhu without any attempt to hide it.

"Geisha pour-over, 38 yuan." Jiang Miaozhu maintained a professional attitude and began grinding the coffee beans.

The man took out his phone to film: "A beauty running a stall, that's rare. Why do this when you're so pretty? Isn't being kept by someone easier than this?"

Jiang Miaozhu's fingers on the grinder turned slightly white, but she still maintained a steady tone: "Please respect each other. I am just selling coffee."

When she handed him the brewed coffee, the man took only one sip before frowning.

"What kind of garbage is this? It's so bitter! Do you even know how to make coffee? Just because you're pretty, you think you can fool people?"

His voice caused the customers in line to turn and look.

"Damn, this guy is just here to pick a fight!"

Jiang Miaozhu took a deep breath: "Sir, Geisha beans naturally have floral and fruity notes, and the aftertaste is indeed slightly bitter. If you don't like it, I can exchange it for a milk-based coffee for you at no extra charge."

She had done her best to remain calm and polite.

If she weren't live-streaming, if this weren't a society governed by the rule of law...

"I waited in line for over ten minutes, and you tell me to exchange it? Is my time worthless? Everyone, come and see this!"

He turned around, waving his arms, trying to incite the crowd of onlookers.

"This kind of stall is a scam! It relies entirely on a pretty face to attract people, and what they sell is just garbage! It's sour dishwater!"

His voice was sharp and grating, instantly attracting many gazes.

Even those running stalls nearby were just watching the spectacle.

"Hey! Buddy, that's enough." A tall boy standing further back couldn't stand it anymore and spoke up with a frown.

"She's been explaining to you for ages and even offered to exchange it. If you don't understand pour-over coffee, don't act like an expert here; you're just making a fool of yourself."

The man in the floral shirt immediately turned his fire, spittle flying: "What's it to you? Mind your own business! I paid for coffee, am I not allowed to critique it? Are you her lover or something?"

I wish I were, but my strength doesn't allow it!

The man in the floral shirt turned back, his greasy gaze wandering over Jiang Miaozhu's delicate face and slim waist, his previously feigned anger instantly turning into a nauseating lust.

He leaned forward, resting on the counter, and lowered his voice, the breath smelling of cigarettes hitting her face.

Disgusted, Jiang Miaozhu quickly stepped back.

Truly horrific!

"Wasting so much of my time, just getting a refund won't cut it... but..."

He grinned, revealing teeth stained yellow by smoke, his eyes lecherous.

"If you agree to be my girlfriend for a day and go shopping with me, I might consider it. Not only will I not make you pay, but I'll also pay for this coffee. How about it, beauty?"

In an instant, it felt as if all the surrounding sounds had been sucked away.

Jiang Miaozhu clearly heard the sound of the blood vessels in her temples throbbing.

The remaining trace of a smile on her face vanished without a trace, replaced by an extreme coldness and disdain.

She took a slow, deep breath, but this time, it wasn't to suppress herself, but to gather strength.

Then, she raised her eyes, her gaze like blades forged from thin ice, piercing straight at him.

Her red lips parted slightly, her words clear yet bone-chillingly cold:

"Have you never looked in a mirror in your entire life, you idiot? Do you not know how disgusting your face is, or how much it pollutes the environment?"

Every word of hers was like a nail, accurately hammered home.

"Look at those two slits you call eyes! They're smaller than the pupils of the Teddy dog downstairs! Comparing you to a dog is an insult to dogs; dogs know how to wag their tails to please people, while you only know how to bark here and annoy everyone!"

"You waste air while alive, waste land when dead, and waste money while half-dead! Someone like you, if taken to the crematorium, they'd think you're a waste of fuel, and the furnace would go out with you! Scattering your ashes would probably pollute the atmosphere!"

She finished in one breath, her chest rising and falling slightly, her originally fair cheeks flushed with a faint red from excitement, but her eyes were startlingly bright, like blades tempered in fire.

Slash, slash, slash, slash, slash!

A killing blade!

A dead silence fell in front of the coffee stall.

Everyone was stunned by this sudden, cathartic verbal lashing.

Even the tall boy who had spoken up earlier had his mouth agape, looking at Jiang Miaozhu with a mix of astonishment and admiration.

Awesome! So awesome!

If he had a mouth like that, who would dare to be presumptuous!

Jiang Miaozhu had once again refreshed everyone's perception of her.

This woman was not only beautiful, but she also spoke "well"!

It was so damn good!

So cultured!

The man in the floral shirt seemed stunned as if hit by a series of heavy hammers, his face turning red and then white, his finger trembling as he pointed at Jiang Miaozhu.

"You... you..."

He stammered for a long time but couldn't squeeze out a complete retort; perhaps in his limited vocabulary, he couldn't find any words to respond.

Or perhaps, it was because what Jiang Miaozhu said was so spot on that even he had to admit it.

Amidst the gradually rising snickers and pointing from the crowd, just as the man in the shirt was about to say something more, he saw two burly men walk out, their arms thicker than his thighs.

"If you don't get lost, I'll make you crawl out of here today."

"You just wait!" The man in the floral shirt spat out a harsh threat before finally squeezing out of the crowd, looking dejected.

"Get lost!"

"Exactly! Just look at what you look like!"

Everyone began to beat the dog when it was down.

Jiang Miaozhu was like a victorious female warrior at this moment, holding her head high with pride.

Awesome!
