246: Chapter 246 Li Fang Gets into a Fight After Drinking

The show had ended, and the backstage corridor was bustling with people, filled with a mix of congratulations and words of comfort.

Chen Yu was looking for a quiet corner to message Su Lingyin when a tall figure blocked his path.

He looked up and saw it was Tan Xinya, who had just won first place.

Her face still carried the excited flush of competition, and her eyes burned as she stared at Chen Yu, getting straight to the point.

"Chen Yu, I hope you'll bring your full strength to the next round."

Chen Yu was taken aback, feeling a bit bewildered. "Are you... okay?"

He thought she had come to offer comfort or polite pleasantries.

"I'm great!"

Tan Xinya's voice was clear and bright, even carrying a hint of satisfaction. "I've cleared my previous disgrace; I couldn't be better!"

Although she believed she should have been first in the previous round, actually winning this time had set her fighting spirit ablaze.

In her view, a singer who didn't want to be first wasn't a good singer! A true contest required a powerful opponent to make it meaningful.

Chen Yu looked at the fighting intent in her eyes, which was almost tangible, and shook his head helplessly.

This woman was like a lunatic; her obsession with music was akin to a 'martial arts fanatic' state.

Subconsciously wanting to avoid such blunt competitive pressure, he replied casually, "Oh, congratulations, Sister Tan."

He then tried to walk around her to leave.

Seeing Chen Yu walk away somewhat dismissively, Tan Xinya thought her words had worked and that he had taken her challenge to heart.

She raised her voice and added to Chen Yu's retreating back with unquestionable confidence: "Remember! In the next round, make it harder for me to win!"

Chen Yu's back visibly stiffened, and his pace quickened. He complained wildly in his head, "Is this woman's head right? She won and she's still not happy? She's asking for a beating? I'm not even in the same lane as her..."

If the media had heard this, it would have been on the trending searches immediately.

...

Meanwhile, Li Fang was slumped in his van, an empty beer bottle in front of him.

He had only taken one sip; the rest was poured out.

It was so damn foul-tasting.

When a person is down on their luck, they can even choke on beer.

He could not accept the fact that he had been eliminated by a "nobody" like Lou Bingan.

"Lou Bingan? Some small-fry I've never even heard of before! Why did she get more votes than me?"

The more he thought about it, the angrier he got, especially considering the vote count was so close. It felt as disgusting as swallowing a fly.

"Those fans really weren't supportive enough! If they could have been the live audience voting for me, would I have lost?"

Li Fang completely ignored the major flaws in his own performance, blaming his failure on external factors.

After all, he, Li Fang, was never wrong.

His music was the greatest music!

His manager, Sister Zhang, looked at his dark expression and comforted him cautiously, "Xiao Fang, don't take it too hard. We still have several concerts to prepare for. This is just a variety show; as long as we got the exposure, it's fine..."

"I can't even win a simple variety show..."

Li Fang interrupted her sharply, his eyes full of suspicion and resentment. "Sister Zhang, tell me, could there be foul play? Go investigate! I want to know whose fans those five hundred audience members were! Is someone deliberately targeting me?!"

Unable to vent his inner frustration, Li Fang put on a hat and mask and, driven by some strange impulse, went alone to a remote barbecue stall to drink his sorrows away.

After a few bottles of beer, the drunkenness set in, and everything he saw looked unpleasant.

A young man at the next table, who had also had a bit too much to drink, likely recognized him.

Even though Li Fang was disguised, that aura of his was hard to hide.

Like non-recyclable trash amidst recyclable waste.

The man across from him called out in a mocking tone, "Yo! Isn't this the big star Li Fang? What, lost the competition and came here to drink alone?"

These words were like a needle, ruthlessly piercing Li Fang's fragile ego.

He snapped to his feet, pointed at the man, and cursed, "Who the hell are you? Get lost! Stop being an eyesore!"

The young man was also provoked and shot back, "What are you acting so tough for? If you sing like that, you can't blame people for talking!"

Where did this random nobody get the nerve to talk about him!!!

Alcohol and anger completely clouded Li Fang's mind. He grabbed an empty beer bottle from the table and rushed over...

A farce of a street brawl began.

Li Fang attacked first, stumbling forward as the green glass bottle sliced through the muggy air, heading straight for the man's face.

The opponent clearly hadn't expected him to strike so suddenly, but his reactions were fast, and he jerked his head to the side.

The bottle whistled past his ear and shattered on the greasy concrete floor with a crisp 'clatter,' spraying glass shards everywhere.

The opponent missed!

With the strike missing its mark, Li Fang couldn't stop his momentum and lunged forward.

This momentary opening was precisely caught by the opponent.

The man also seemed to have his temper flared up, cursing "Lunatic!" as his solid right fist drove out, hitting Li Fang square in the left eye.

The opponent used self-defense, a direct hit!

Li Fang got a black eye!

Li Fang saw stars and was dazed!

The world went silent for a second, leaving only a buzzing ring in his ears.

His left eye swelled up painfully, and his vision quickly became blurred.

Pain and humiliation were like boiling oil, extinguishing his last shred of reason.

He clutched his eye and pointed at the man in disbelief, his voice shrill with fury: "You dare hit me!!!"

"I'm hitting a drunkard like you!" The opponent's eyes were also red. The previous dodge and punch seemed to have ignited his ferocity. Before Li Fang could steady himself, he stepped forward and kicked Li Fang in the stomach!

Despite being heavily drunk, Li Fang's survival instinct remained, and he blocked haphazardly with his arm.

The sole of the shoe slammed into his arm, making the bone ache, but at least the kick didn't land fully.

He took the opportunity to swing wild 'bastard punches,' flailing aimlessly at the man's head and body.

The two were instantly locked in a scuffle, a mix of curses, the dull thud of fists meeting flesh, and heavy breathing.

The melee began! Li Fang swung his fists wildly, while the opponent blocked and dodged; both landed hits, but the damage was low!

"Stop fighting! Stop it!"

"Boss! Boss! A fight broke out!"

"Call the police! Quick, call the police!"

The food stall immediately turned into chaos. Diners screamed and jumped away, knocking over cups, plates, and bowls, creating a cacophony of clattering sounds.

The owner, a chubby middle-aged man, was sweating profusely with anxiety. He rushed over with two workers, trying to break up the fight.

"Gentlemen! Let's talk this out! Don't fight at my place!"

The peacemakers tried to intervene, but the two men in their rage were like clashing bulls and couldn't be separated.

Li Fang grabbed the man's collar, while the man yanked Li Fang's hair. They rolled on the ground, covered in grease and spilled alcohol.

In the chaos, someone tripped over a stool, which knocked over several more.

Shouts for them to stop, curses, women's screams, and children's cries rose one after another. The entire food stall was in an absolute mess.

Until a sharp police siren echoed from a distance, drawing closer like a bucket of cold water suddenly splashed onto this chaotic and sweltering battlefield.

The bodies locked in combat suddenly stiffened, and their gripping hands subconsciously loosened their hold.

However, neither was willing to back down!!!
