117: Strange Lord
The three of them exchanged glances, nodded, and stepped back, letting Quan Wudi take the lead.
Quan Wudi rushed forward and slammed a brick onto Klahe's head, leaving her in a stunned state.
Then, Quan Wudi shouted, "Witness my Tiger Subduing Overlord Fist!"
Quan Wudi kicked Klahe down and immediately straddled her, his legs tightly gripping her slender waist as he sat upright and rained down alternating punches on her.
A series of thumping sounds from the physical strikes echoed out.
Xiao Hongyuan blushed at the sight and turned away.
After landing several punches, Quan Wudi let out a loud shout, raised his right hand to charge up slightly, and then delivered a final punch to Klahe's head.
With a 'bang', a massive Shockwave radiated from the ground beneath them. Klahe screamed and vanished into a white light.
Quan Wudi stood up, hands on his hips, and laughed heartily. "Haha, that felt great!"
With the room cleared, Jian Wuxie and the other two sat down to recover, while only A Fei searched the room for dropped loot.
Quan Wudi bragged to Jian Wuxie, "So, how about it? Is my new skill impressive or what?"
Xiao Hongyuan rolled her eyes, moved a bit further away from Quan Wudi, and muttered, "Indecent!"
Quan Wudi retorted, "What do you mean? How am I indecent?"
Jian Wuxie added fuel to the fire, "Forget it, Brother Quan, don't even try to explain. It's not like I haven't seen this Move before. Usually, people aim for the head, but I saw a few of those punches aiming for her chest. You think I'm blind?"
Quan Wudi's face flushed red as he stammered an explanation, "I... it was my first time... I just didn't cast it right, okay?"
The three of them turned their heads away simultaneously, ignoring Quan Wudi's weak excuse.
"Xiao Fei, I'm tapped out. Give me some of your recovery items; I'm completely out of supplies," Jian Wuxie called out.
A Fei circled the area and remarked, "Strange, these two sisters didn't drop any Badges."
"If they didn't, they didn't. Did anything else drop?" Quan Wudi asked.
A Fei pulled out a card and said, "Phenoxiu dropped an Enchantment Card after she died."
Quan Wudi curled his lip disdainfully. "Whatever, you keep it. Isn't your subclass Enchanter anyway? Don't bother showing us trash like that."
A Fei looked at Jian Wuxie and the other, but seeing their lack of interest, he had no choice but to toss the card into his backpack.
He then reached back into his bag, pulled out various bottles and jars, and spread them out on the ground.
If Quan Wudi ever learned the true value of that card in the future, who knows if he would regret today's decision.
Jian Wuxie picked out a few potions from the ground that looked acceptable and checked their attributes.
[Sky City Spring Water]
Restores 460 HP
[Sky City Dew]
Restores 230 MP
Seeing they were just spring water and dew, Jian Wuxie felt relieved and quickly drank them.
Xiao Hongyuan pointed to a door not far away and said, "It looks like the next room is the Boss Room. Our supplies should just barely be enough."
Jian Wuxie pulled out a revival coin and tossed it to Quan Wudi. "Brother Quan, you take this. Just in case you die, it'll keep you going."
Quan Wudi didn't stand on ceremony. He caught it and said, "Alright, I'll take it for now. Once we're out, I'll ask the Alliance Leader for some Spirit Stones to open gift boxes. I'll pay you back when I get a revival coin."
After the four of them finished recovering, they stood up and finally reached the entrance to the Boss Room.
As soon as they entered, before he could even see what the boss looked like, Jian Wuxie saw an eyeball the size of his head rushing toward him.
Startled, he cried out, "Holy crap, what is that thing!"
The other three quickly turned to look and found that there wasn't just one giant eyeball flying at them—there was a whole row.
"Quick, Block!" Xiao Hongyuan warned, holding her light sword vertically in front of her chest.
A moment later, the eyeballs collided with the four of them and vanished into black mist.
Xiao Hongyuan saw that she had only lost a few dozen HP and sighed in relief. "Good, the damage isn't high."
But Jian Wuxie shouted, "What's going on? Why is it so dark? Did the lights go out again?"
Xiao Hongyuan looked at Jian Wuxie in confusion. He was reaching out with one hand, flailing blindly at the air in front of him.
Quan Wudi chimed in, "Yeah, is there a chandelier in the Boss Room too? Quick, find the switch."
A Fei and Xiao Hongyuan exchanged looks, and A Fei quickly said, "Wait, don't run around! You've probably been blinded. We can still see!"
They expected the two to panic, but to their surprise, Quan Wudi laughed. "So this is what being blinded feels like. It seems my Sand Throw skill is pretty powerful."
Jian Wuxie waved his hand frantically in front of his face and said, "Hehe, I really can't see a thing!"
Xiao Hongyuan was speechless at these two idiots and quickly turned her gaze toward the boss in the room.
By the wall of the room, there was a mountain of flesh. On that mountain grew an eye about as tall as she was, and its pupil was staring fixedly at her.
Just as she was about to warn A Fei, he grabbed her arm first and signaled for her to look behind them.
Xiao Hongyuan turned back in confusion and saw an identical monster by the opposite wall. Its large eye was also staring intently at them.
Before she could Move, the eye behind her blinked and actually shed glowing tears. Then, a slender laser beam suddenly erupted from its pupil.
"Oh no! Get out of the way!" Xiao Hongyuan screamed, quickly dodging.
A Fei reacted quickly as well, dodging to the side.
Although Jian Wuxie and Quan Wudi heard the warning, they hadn't yet recovered from their blindness. Completely disoriented, they had no idea where to hide and just picked a direction at random.
Quan Wudi got lucky and accidentally dodged it, but Jian Wuxie blundered right into the laser beam firing from the eye.
The slender laser pierced through Jian Wuxie's body and vanished.
Jian Wuxie cried out and fell to the ground. He saw that his HP had plummeted by half.
Xiao Hongyuan shouted to A Fei, "Attack the one on the left with me first!" and then charged forward.
A Fei immediately used Three-Stage Slash to follow her, his eyes fixed on the large eye on the left, fearing it might unleash some new Move.
As soon as Xiao Hongyuan got close, she immediately used Uppercut, attempting to launch the monster into the air.
But as her light sword slashed across the giant eyeball, the monster remained motionless, aside from taking a bit of damage.
"Uncontrollable!" Xiao Hongyuan calmly warned A Fei.
A Fei had originally intended to use Wave Split Slash, but after hearing Xiao Hongyuan's warning, he switched to Full Moon Slash.
A bright moonlight flashed as the strike hit the eyeball, causing ripples to spread across it.
"The defense is so high!" A Fei frowned.
By this time, Jian Wuxie and Quan Wudi had finally recovered from their blindness. Seeing the boss they had to face today, both felt a bit nauseated.
Under the assault from A Fei and Xiao Hongyuan, the eye suddenly contracted. Then, another row of small eyeballs, emitting black energy, flew out from its pupil toward them.
A Fei raised his sword to Block, but Xiao Hongyuan proactively lowered her shoulders and initiated an Army Breaker Rising Dragon Strike.
A yellow shield of light flared up in front of her as she crashed into the eyeballs, her light sword slashing upward across the giant eye.
Protected by the shield, Xiao Hongyuan lost only a tiny bit of health and wasn't blinded. Instead, she dealt a powerful blow to the giant eye.
The eye actually began to shed tears, as if it were in great pain.
