127: Speculation about the octopus outside the temple

Quan Wudi saw the group stop in front of him and asked again, "Hey, do you guys know Ophelia or not? Say something!"

The group didn't answer him. Instead, they reached out, unfastened their robes, suddenly pulled out strange daggers from within, and stabbed directly at Quan Wudi.

"Holy crap!" Quan Wudi was startled and quickly used Backstep to dodge, cursing, "If you don't know her, just say so! Why pull out knives? Are you crazy?"

The group still didn't respond and chased directly after Quan Wudi.

"Something's wrong! Attack!" Xiao Hongyuan shouted immediately.

Quan Wudi didn't hesitate either; he turned around and used Sand Throw, hitting most of the robed men.

Following that, he threw Shadow Needles and used Brick Attack on the robed man closest to him.

The man let out a miserable scream and vanished into a flash of white light.

Jian Wuxie leaped over with a Mountain Collapse Strike, then activated Blood Frenzy, his dual swords beginning to slaughter the group.

The group occasionally pulled out daggers to counterattack, but Jian Wuxie didn't dodge at all, letting the attacks land on him.

Xiao Hongyuan also quickly approached and joined the battle, using an Uppercut to send them all flying.

A Fei rushed into the crowd and unleashed a Full Moon Slash; the robed men all turned into white light and disappeared.

"Eh? So weak?" Jian Wuxie deactivated Blood Frenzy and spoke in confusion.

A Fei circled the area and said, "These are likely Ophelia's Cultists, but for some reason, they've turned into mindless monsters."

"Let's keep moving forward and see what's going on," Xiao Hongyuan said.

The four entered the next room and found that the monsters this time were cannons carved into the shape of dragon heads. Without anyone pushing them, they were actually moving slowly on their own.

"Am I seeing things? Those cannons are moving by themselves?" Quan Wudi said in disbelief.

"Yes, they really are moving on their own!" A Fei said with certainty.

Just then, the eyes of one Dragon Head Cannon suddenly glowed red, a burst of steam erupted from the cannon's body, and with a 'bang,' it fired a shell at the four of them!

"Watch out!" Xiao Hongyuan quickly warned.

The four nimbly dodged the incoming shell, letting it land near a pile of tall jars.

Upon landing, the shell exploded again, shattering all the jars and causing quite a few items to fall out.

"Forget it, let's deal with these things first!" Jian Wuxie roared and immediately activated Three-Stage Slash, quickly closing in on the Dragon Head Cannons.

His Greatsword struck the cannon bodies, making the sound of metal hitting metal.

Xiao Hongyuan and the other two quickly followed and joined the fray.

For a moment, the clanging of metal clashing rang out incessantly.

A Fei rushed to the front and raised his hand to release three Ghost God Formations, enveloping all the Dragon Head Cannons.

Although the Dragon Head Cannons could move, they were very slow. Additionally, their attacks were easy to read; their eyes would light up and they would vent steam before firing, making them easy to dodge and basically no threat to the four.

However, Xiao Hongyuan felt a bit helpless seeing the shallow marks her light sword left on the cannon bodies.

Jian Wuxie, on the other hand, had a +12 Greatsword; with every slash, he could clearly feel the damage to the cannon bodies.

"The defense of these damn things is too high!" Quan Wudi shouted.

His weapon was already far behind, and facing these steel cannon bodies, he was suffering for a while.

A Fei, however, was having a great time. After his Class Advancement to Ghost Cry, many of his skills dealt magic damage, making it easy to face these monsters with high physical defense.

Within the Erosion Purimon Formation, the magic defense of these monsters would decrease. Combined with the occasionally triggered effect of the ruptured soul blade, A Fei became the absolute main force of this battle.

After an unknown amount of time, once the last Dragon Head Cannon fell apart and disappeared, A Fei didn't rest. Instead, he curiously ran to the corner where the jars had been shattered by the shell and began searching.

After a while, A Fei smiled and walked over to the three who were panting from exhaustion, saying with a grin, "Look, what did I find?"

He then shared the attributes of the items in his hand.

【Golden Eucharist】

Restores 680 Health Points.

After consumption, Physical Defense increases by 20% for 20 seconds.

【Sacred Wine】

Restores 330 Mana Points.

After consumption, Spirit +45 for 60 seconds.

【Evil Potion】

After consumption, Strength and Intelligence +45 for 60 seconds.

Spirit and Stamina -45.

All Elemental Resistances -30.

Looking at the descriptions of these supplies, the three said in novelty, "These supplies not only restore but can also provide temporary buffs?"

Jian Wuxie looked at the purple liquid in the transparent glass and said, "This thing is called an Evil Potion, and it certainly doesn't look like anything good. Can it really be drunk?"

"You've seen the attributes. It looks like a Medicinal Pill that can stimulate potential for a short time. It has some side effects, but it's definitely useful. Isn't your Berserker class all about the higher the Strength, the higher the damage? Losing a bit of Spirit shouldn't be important to you, right?" A Fei said.

"These all dropped from those jars?" Xiao Hongyuan asked.

"Yes," A Fei nodded affirmatively.

"Good. From now on, whenever we see those jars, we'll break them and see. There's no harm in collecting more of these supplies," Xiao Hongyuan said.

The four rested for a while before continuing into the next room.

Seeing the large red octopuses wandering all over the room, Quan Wudi couldn't help but curse, "Damn, so those disgusting Octopus Monsters came from here!"

Jian Wuxie laughed and said, "It's fine, these red octopuses are quite easy to deal with. Just be careful not to get caught by them!"

The four rushed forward. Compared to dealing with those high-defense Dragon Head Cannons, these octopuses were quickly eliminated by the four.

As usual, A Fei circled the room, breaking jars and picking up all the Materials dropped by the monsters before returning.

Just as he returned, he saw Xiao Hongyuan holding a brown robe, studying something.

"What's wrong?" A Fei asked.

Xiao Hongyuan spoke in confusion, "Look at these robes. There are quite a few on the ground over there. Why were they all just left here?"

Jian Wuxie took it and looked; his expression grew worse the more he looked.

"Senior Sister, look at these robes. They don't look like they were taken off voluntarily. The buttons are all perfectly fastened, as if... as if the person wearing the robe suddenly disappeared!"

A Fei also picked one up, unbuttoned it, and fell into thought as he looked at the mucus staining the inside of the robe.

"Do you think... is it possible that these octopuses ate the people, or simply that these octopuses are what the people turned into?" A Fei said after a long silence, pointing at the mucus inside the clothes that everyone was familiar with.

"Huh?" At these words, Quan Wudi, who was holding a tentacle left behind by a dead Octopus Monster, quickly threw it on the ground and said, "That can't be, right?"

A Fei stepped forward, put the tentacle thrown on the ground into his backpack, and said, "It's just a guess!"
