121: Ice sculptures and mechanical bull-headed beasts

While the group was happily slaughtering, they didn't notice several Small Pink Octopus Monsters moving through the crowd of monsters, quickly approaching them.

Those small octopuses were less than one-tenth the size of a normal Octopus Monster, and because of the chaotic battle, no one noticed them getting close.

Suddenly, a small octopus jumped up, its body spinning rapidly. Its tentacles whipped around so fast they left afterimages, interrupting Quan Wudi's attempt to throw a poison needle and leaving him momentarily stunned.

The next moment, a Red Octopus near him also leaped suddenly, its eight tentacles spreading out. With a wet smack, it landed on Quan Wudi, its tentacles tightly coiling around him and enveloping his entire upper body within its mass.

Quan Wudi felt his vision go dark; he couldn't see anything and his body was unable to move.

In the next instant, Quan Wudi felt his head suddenly covered by a hole filled with jagged teeth. A massive suction force pulled at him, causing intense pain in his head as his health began to drop.

A Fei, who was not far from Quan Wudi, witnessed the entire scene. He first shouted, "Watch out for the small octopuses at your feet!"

Then, he quickly rushed toward Quan Wudi.

Jian Wuxie and the other two heard A Fei's warning and hurriedly looked down. Sure enough, they found the small Octopus Monsters at their feet that were hard to notice if one wasn't paying attention, and they quickly used Uppercut to launch them into the air.

To their surprise, those small octopuses didn't have much health; a single Uppercut was enough to kill them instantly.

At the same time, the two also noticed Quan Wudi, who was still squirming under the grip of the red Octopus Monster.

A Fei reached Quan Wudi and, seeing the Octopus Monster pulsing as if it were sucking something out, he acted decisively, using an Uppercut to knock it off Quan Wudi's head.

Seeing the light again, Quan Wudi's legs went weak for a moment, and then he hurriedly reached up to touch his head.

Seeing his hands covered in slime, he was thoroughly disgusted, and then an intense rage welled up in his heart.

He stood up immediately and unleashed a Tiger Subduing Overlord Fist on the Octopus Monster that A Fei had just knocked into the air and which had just landed.

After a round of skill attacks from the four of them, most of the Octopus Monsters were dead or wounded. Only a few scattered ones remained in the back and hadn't come over yet, but these remaining ones were actually dark green.

Jian Wuxie still led the way, charging directly into the group of monsters.

Under the effect of Blood Frenzy, Jian Wuxie wielded his dual blades like a combat machine, seemingly tireless as he chased down and slaughtered those monsters.

Xiao Hongyuan and the other two also moved up to support, wanting to quickly kill the last few Octopus Monsters together.

Just then, those dark green Octopus Monsters arched their bodies and fired black water balls at the four of them.

Jian Wuxie was hit directly and suddenly felt his vision go dark, falling into a blinded state.

Although the three behind Jian Wuxie also dodged, the black water balls exploded upon hitting him, splashing quite a bit onto the three behind him.

However, the three of them did not fall into a blinded state like Jian Wuxie.

Jian Wuxie reached out and wiped his face haphazardly, feeling his hands full of water, and the blinded state vanished.

He looked back and saw Xiao Hongyuan and the other two covered in black ink, looking at him while trying to suppress their laughter.

Without even looking in a mirror, he knew his entire head must be covered in black ink as well.

After wiping himself haphazardly again, Jian Wuxie turned and used a Three-Stage Slash to catch up to the retreating dark green octopus, lifting it up with a Soul Devouring Hand.

Seeing Jian Wuxie take action, the three of them stopped laughing and quickly followed, surrounding and killing the last few Octopus Monsters.

Looking at Jian Wuxie with his head full of ink and Quan Wudi with his head full of slime, A Fei couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Stop laughing and hurry up and clean up the battlefield. See if there's anything left behind. Why do I feel like these monsters are dropping more items than usual?" Jian Wuxie said.

A Fei stopped laughing, ran a lap around the area, and returned to say excitedly, "You're right. Besides two Intelligence Books, there are actually several Monster Cards. My Enchanting can finally level up its Rank."

As soon as he finished speaking, the four felt their vision blur, and the rhythmic, magical music reached their ears again. They had clearly returned to the streets of Heatonmar.

"You hold onto the Intelligence Books for now. If any more drop from the next monster, we'll give them to Brother Quan. We'll take turns!" Jian Wuxie said.

However, Xiao Hongyuan spoke up, "Look, what's that?"

The three turned to look and saw four Cultivators standing on the street, half their bodies encased in ice, standing there like statues.

Er Gou walked over curiously and found that the eyes of those four were still moving, looking at him.

He asked, "Fellow Daoists, what happened to you?"

The Ghost Swordsman looked at him and said, "Our team just encountered a monster we'd never seen before. It looked like some kind of Elemental Spirit. As soon as the fight started, our team's Qigong Master had just used one move when, for some reason, those monsters suddenly one-shotted us."

"And then you became like this?" Jian Wuxie said in surprise.

"Yes, after being defeated by the monster, the system prompted that we would be frozen in place for 1 minute," the man replied.

At that moment, Xiao Hongyuan suddenly said, "Look! That must be the Boss-tier monster, right?"

The three quickly looked over and indeed saw a massive Minotaur made entirely of steel. With its height towering over the crowd, it was hard to miss.

"Quick, everyone is charging up. Let's follow!" Quan Wudi shouted.

Without hesitation, they all rushed toward the monster.

They reached it, but they were still a step too late. The Minotaur Giant Beast suddenly turned into a large cloud of white mist, and the sounds of fighting could be heard from within.

"Dammit, someone beat us to it!" Jian Wuxie said with annoyance.

"It's fine, let's fight other monsters first. Collecting more Intelligence Books is just as good," Xiao Hongyuan consoled him.

Just as she finished speaking and they were about to leave, the Minotaur Giant Beast reappeared, and four more ice sculptures were added at its feet.

"Haha, they were so weak, they lost so soon after going in. Let's go!" Jian Wuxie grew excited and hurriedly went up to touch the Minotaur Giant Beast.

The four of them instantly felt their vision blur. The street cleared in an instant, leaving only them, the Steel Minotaur, and a large number of Cat Wraiths.

"Our status has been fully restored. It seems like every battle automatically refills our status. In that case, we don't need to worry about consumption!" A Fei said happily.

The other three looked and saw that it was indeed the case, and they were all very happy.

Jian Wuxie pointed at the monsters in the distance and said, "How weak was that previous team? They were finished off so quickly by this Iron Minotaur and this group of Cat Wraiths?"

"Hehe, isn't that just to our advantage!" Quan Wudi laughed.

Jian Wuxie immediately activated Blood Frenzy and Berserk, shouting, "Since we don't have to worry about consumption anyway, let's go all out!"

As soon as he spoke, he launched a Three-Stage Slash and charged forward.

The remaining three also quickly activated their full states and followed closely behind Jian Wuxie, charging toward the Mechanical Minotaur Giant Beast.
