91: First Epic Equipment
As soon as the two landed, they buffed themselves and immediately charged toward the four Ghost Swordsmen.
By this time, Elder Shen had already neared the four; with a duck and a dash, his blue fist struck the first person's abdomen, followed by a sudden backward slide to dodge the staff shadows swung by the other three.
Immediately after, Flicker Blow was activated, and a blue fist shadow appeared, pulling the Ghost Swordsman who had just been hit in the abdomen toward him; a rapid succession of blue fist shadows followed, moving so fast they were almost a blur.
That Ghost Swordsman let out continuous screams from the beating, until finally, Elder Shen delivered an Uppercut, smashing him heavily onto the ground.
But before Elder Shen could recover from his move, a wooden staff struck, sending him flying once more.
The same scene played out again; Elder Shen didn't even hit the ground before he was turned into a corpse amidst a flurry of staff shadows.
The sound of gunfire from the Second Prince in the back had never stopped; as soon as Elder Shen died, before the Prince could retreat, he was caught, launched into the air, and beaten to death with a barrage of staves.
At this moment, only Captain Yang could ignore the knockback effect thanks to his Super Armor state, but before he could land many punches, the massive damage from the Ghost Swordsman turned him into a dead fish once again.
Commander Ma used the brief moment of invincibility from Soul Devouring Hand to dodge countless staff shadows; as the Soul Devouring Hand erupted, it briefly knocked back all four enemies, but just as he was about to use Mountain Collapse Strike to smash them, he was unexpectedly hit in the face by a staff from the air, interrupting the skill, and was surrounded and beaten to death by the four again.
With a flash of blue light, the Second Prince and the other three were resurrected again; using the shockwave from the revival to knock down the four Ghost Swordsmen, they hurriedly applied their buff skills.
After landing, the Second Prince threw a grenade, knocking down the four Ghost Swordsmen who had just stood up, loaded his rifle with Freezing Bullets, and raised his hand to fire at one of them.
Seeing the Ghost Swordsman affected by the freeze and slowing down, the Second Prince roared, "Concentrate your attacks on one! Don't be afraid to die; this Prince has plenty of revival coin! I don't believe we can't kill these bastards!"
Hearing the shout, the others immediately focused their gaze on the Ghost Swordsman slowed by the Second Prince and charged forward, unafraid of death.
Especially Elder Shen; having thrust his weapon into the ground, he swayed his body and charged in, blue fist shadows flying up and down, and he could even dodge the attacks of the other Ghost Swordsmen from time to time.
Captain Yang became ruthless; after applying Super Armor to himself, he plunged into the crowd, fixed his eyes on the target, and used both fists and feet, completely ignoring the attacks from the side.
Commander Ma had no choice either; he followed behind Captain Yang with a Three-Stage Slash, not having time to use other skills for fear of being interrupted, so he could only land whatever slashes he could.
Behind the crowd, the Second Prince set up his Gatling Gun and opened fire with a roar.
A flash of blue light appeared—it was unclear who had died and resurrected again—but they charged straight in upon landing, grabbing the target specified by the Second Prince and attacking relentlessly.
The Second Prince didn't know how many times he had been resurrected; anyway, he had hundreds of revival coin now and didn't care to check, until finally, he heard Captain Yang shout from the crowd, "Second Prince, that Ghost Swordsman is dead!"
The Second Prince threw out all his grenades, then set up his machine gun and shouted, "Hahaha, good! Grab another one!"
With one fewer Ghost Swordsman, the pressure on the four decreased significantly, and even the frequency of resurrections dropped quite a bit.
After an unknown number of resurrection rounds, the second Ghost Swordsman finally died.
Now only two Ghost Swordsmen remained, and Elder Shen said, "I can handle one myself; you guys take care of the remaining one!"
Commander Ma did not hesitate; he reached out with his Soul Devouring Hand, grabbed a Ghost Swordsman by the neck, and blasted him into the distance, leaving space for Elder Shen.
Captain Yang and the Second Prince immediately surrounded and attacked the Ghost Swordsman blasted away by Commander Ma.
Now there were only two Ghost Swordsmen left on the field; aside from Commander Ma accidentally being beaten to death once and resurrecting, the casualties had actually stopped.
The Second Prince even mischievously ran forward while a Ghost Swordsman was on the ground and placed a Flash Mine under him.
A white light flashed, and the Ghost Swordsman was stunned; the three immediately beat the man while he was down, throwing all their skills at him recklessly.
With a scream, the Ghost Swordsman besieged by the Second Prince's trio finally fell dead.
The three immediately wanted to support Elder Shen, but they heard him shout, "Don't come over! This old man hasn't had this much fun in a long time; let me trade blows with him."
The three could only stop helplessly and watch Elder Shen's magnificent performance.
Elder Shen called it trading blows, but the scene looked entirely like a one-sided slaughter.
Under the attack of the blue fist shadows, the Ghost Swordsman was like a small boat in the ocean, tossed about by the storm-like punches.
Elder Shen seemed very skilled in this style of combat; his footwork was elegant, and every punch perfectly interrupted the Ghost Swordsman's fall, sending him flying into the air again.
The three watched like they were at a performance, letting out exclamations from time to time.
Finally, under a heavy punch from Elder Shen, the Ghost Swordsman screamed and fell to the ground dead.
Upon the Ghost Swordsman's death, a dazzling golden light and a less conspicuous pink light, accompanied by several pieces of equipment, clattered to the ground.
The eyes of the four were all drawn to that dazzling golden light, and they looked toward the ground.
There lay a massive totem staff, with golden light faintly flowing over it.
The Second Prince shouted excitedly, "Don't move! Let me see what equipment it is—it's actually golden!"
After saying that, he ran forward excitedly, wanting to pick up the massive totem pole.
But the moment his hand touched the totem pole, a notification sounded in his ear.
[This equipment is epic equipment. Once picked up, it cannot be traded or transferred and will be bound directly. Do you wish to pick it up?]
The Second Prince hesitated; this equipment was clearly not something his character could use, and if he picked it up, it would just sit in his bag, unusable.
He quickly withdrew his hand and asked, "Do you guys know which character uses this equipment?"
Captain Yang and Commander Ma both shook their heads; they hadn't seen anyone equipped with this yet.
At that moment, Elder Shen said, "It's for my use."
The Second Prince hurriedly said, "Then you pick it up, Elder Shen; this equipment binds upon being picked up."
Elder Shen nodded, walked forward, picked it up, and checked the attributes.
The Second Prince urged with a face full of anticipation, "Elder Shen, hurry up and post the attributes for us to see!"
Before Elder Shen could share it, a mechanical announcement suddenly rang throughout the entire Secret Realm, startling many people into a daze.
[Congratulations to Trialist Shen He for obtaining the first Epic-grade equipment in the entire Secret Realm. As a reward, a server-wide announcement is hereby issued.]
Upon hearing this, everyone couldn't help but discuss how powerful this epic equipment must be for it to be announced across the entire Secret Realm.
Everyone already knew that Divine Artifact equipment was powerful, and although the drop rate was low, quite a few people had gotten them; but this Epic-grade equipment was the very first one in the entire Secret Realm.
