197: Chapter 197 The Heavenly Dao of the Xuanhuang Realm

At this moment, Jiang Changge's Divine Sense had long since climbed upward, following the lingering charm of that light of the Heavenly Dao, passing through the sea of clouds, through the Void Realm, and through a certain barrier he had never encountered before, finally arriving in a space he had never seen.

This space had no up, down, left, or right, no alternation of day and night; there was only the power of Origin filling his vision, flowing slowly in the Void Realm like the rotation of a galaxy.

Each Law was like a flowing ribbon of light, intertwining and wrapping around in the space, forming an ancient and magnificent painting.

He stood there, feeling those powers of Law flowing past his side; wherever his gaze fell, there was the most fundamental power that constituted this world.

Jiang Changge was quietly observing this strange Domain.

At this moment, a voice came from the Void Realm, gentle yet carrying an indescribable ancient echo, as if it had traversed time and space from countless epochs ago: "Interesting, I did not expect that you could actually come here."

Jiang Changge looked in the direction of the voice and saw a pure white figure slowly emerging in the Void Realm.

That figure had no fixed outline; at times it resembled a middle-aged man dressed in white, and at other times it transformed into a soft halo, as if its form itself was merely a temporary choice.

Jiang Changge was not too surprised; when he had followed the light of the Heavenly Dao to probe into this space, he already had a guess in his heart.

He spoke, his tone flat: "The Heavenly Dao of the Xuanhuang World?"

That pure white figure swayed slightly, as if nodding: "Since I birthed consciousness, there has been no person or object within this Xuanhuang World that I could not see through."

"Even those Red Dust Immortals who could achieve Ascension but still choose to remain in this world cannot escape my perception."

It paused for a moment, and its voice carried a rare fluctuation, "You are different. I cannot see through your Origin, nor your cultivation, and I cannot even trace the lines of Karma of your appearance in this world."

"Originally, this was already enough to surprise me, but I did not expect that you could actually find this place by following my light of the Heavenly Dao."

Jiang Changge did not reply, but his heart stirred slightly.

He naturally knew why he could avoid the prying of the Heavenly Dao; the System had obscured all of his Heavenly Secrets.

If he really let the Heavenly Dao see through him, wouldn't the System he possessed become a mere decoration?

At this moment, the System also gave a response.

[Ding, System product, must be premium! The Heavenly Dao of the tiny Xuanhuang World wants to see through me? Even the Heavenly Dao of the Immortal Realm would have to kneel before the System!]

That pure white figure of the Heavenly Dao flowed slowly in the Void Realm, as if examining Jiang Changge, and after a moment, it continued to speak: "I have observed you for a long time."

"There are no lines of Karma on you that connect to this world; you have no past life, no Reincarnation, and no traces that can be traced. You seem to have appeared in the Xuanhuang World out of thin air."

Its voice carried a sincere curiosity, "Even if an Immortal from the Immortal Realm wants to descend into this world, I would perceive their traces on the space-time barrier. But you do not; you are the only existence I have been completely unable to see through since I birthed consciousness."

Jiang Changge listened, nodded slightly, and neither denied nor explained.

He knew that what the Heavenly Dao said was the truth; his Origin indeed could not be understood by this world, and he did not intend to explain it.

After a moment of silence, he spoke, his tone casual: "You do not seem to care about me, or rather, you do not care about the appearance of an uncontrollable existence."

That pure white figure of the Heavenly Dao swayed slightly in the Void Realm, and its voice carried a hint of a smile, as if it had heard some interesting statement: "Why should I care?"

Jiang Changge looked at that flowing light and shadow: "In common understanding, the Heavenly Dao controls the living beings of a world, playing with them in the palm of its hand; if some Heaven-Defying people or uncontrollable people appear, the Heavenly Dao will take action to eliminate them."

The Heavenly Dao was silent for a few breaths, and then that voice sounded again, the smile more obvious than before: "Have you ever been the Heavenly Dao?"

Jiang Changge did not answer.

The Heavenly Dao continued: "If you have not been, how would you know what the Heavenly Dao does? What do you think the Heavenly Dao is? Is it a will with joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness? Is it an existence that would become angry because of the provocation of an ant?"

Its voice calmed down, carrying a sense of detachment after the sedimentation of time.

"The Heavenly Dao is merely the rules of this world itself; rules have no joy or anger, no preferences; they will not feel threatened because of the appearance of a living being, nor will they feel happy because of the disappearance of a living being. What you practitioners call Heaven-Defying is merely an object of confrontation you imagined yourselves. What you defy is never me, but your own cognitive boundaries."

Jiang Changge listened, and was silent for another moment.

He indeed had never been the Heavenly Dao, and could not verify the truth of these words; according to the novels he read on Blue Star in his past life, the Heavenly Dao was basically like this.

But judging from the calmness and certainty contained in the words of the Xuanhuang Heavenly Dao, the other party had no need to lie.

He looked at that pure white light and shadow again: "You called me here just to tell me these things?"

The voice of the Heavenly Dao sounded again: "No, I just wanted to see you with my own eyes; an existence that I cannot see through at all is something I should see."

"Since you have already come, my curiosity is satisfied." Its voice gradually became distant.

"As for what you do in this world, I will not interfere; within the rules, all things can exist. You may go back."

Jiang Changge did not leave immediately; he watched that pure white light and shadow flowing slowly in the Void Realm and asked: "You just said that within the rules, all things can exist; what about outside the rules?"

The light of the Heavenly Dao paused slightly, as if thinking about this question.

After a moment, its voice sounded again, with a bit more seriousness than before: "Outside the rules, there are things that do not exist in this world; if you do things outside the rules, that means you have changed the order of this world."

"That kind of change is something even I cannot predict the consequences of."

Jiang Changge nodded and did not continue to ask.

He already had a rough judgment in his heart; the Xuanhuang Heavenly Dao's understanding of the rules was purer than he had expected, possessing neither the oppressive feeling of being high above, nor the detachment of looking down on all living beings, but was merely observing everything happening in this world with the attitude of a bystander.

It said it would not interfere, so it really would not interfere; at least before he truly touched the boundaries of the rules, he did not need to worry about resistance from this world itself.

"Then I will go back." After Jiang Changge finished speaking, his Divine Sense began to slowly withdraw from this space.

That pure white figure watched him in the Void Realm, without trying to keep him, and without saying anything more, but just as he was about to completely withdraw, a very faint voice came through the space: "If there is another opportunity to come next time, you can sit for a while longer."

Jiang Changge did not look back; his Divine Sense had already receded like a tide, passing through that invisible barrier, through the sea of clouds, through the Void Realm, and falling back into his own body.
