28: Chapter 28 Burial Valley
In the Zhouwu Dynasty, at the Qin Family estate, Clan Head Qin Wentian and Su Wanli stood side by side in the main hall, watching the two young men before them with nervous expressions.
"Qin Muchuan, what did you say?" Clan Head Qin Wentian's voice trembled slightly.
Qin Muchuan took a deep breath, his face filled with irrepressible joy.
"Father, Su Fuguang and I have already been accepted as Disciples of Kunlun!"
Su Wanli widened his eyes and turned to look at Su Fuguang.
"Su Fuguang, is this true?"
Su Fuguang nodded heavily, his eyes also filled with excitement.
"Father, it is true! The Senior personally agreed to take us as Disciples!"
Clan Head Qin Wentian and Su Wanli exchanged a glance and burst into laughter, their laughter filled with delight and pride.
"Good! Good! Good!"
Clan Head Qin Wentian said "Good" three times in a row, patting Qin Muchuan on the shoulder, his eyes full of gratification.
"Qin Muchuan, being able to become a Disciple of the Senior is a blessing you have cultivated over several lifetimes! In the future, you must Cultivate with focus and not let the Senior's expectations go to waste!"
Su Wanli also took Su Fuguang's hand and urged, "Su Fuguang, you too! Being able to join a Holy Land like Kunlun is a massive Opportunity; you must never slack off!"
Qin Muchuan and Su Fuguang nodded repeatedly, their eyes filled with determination.
Clan Head Qin Wentian composed his expression and looked at them solemnly.
"Did that Senior say anything? For example, did he have any requirements for you?"
Qin Muchuan thought for a moment and shook his head. "Revered Master only instructed us to Cultivate diligently and not to slack off."
Clan Head Qin Wentian gave a few more instructions before letting the two leave.
After walking out of the main hall, Qin Muchuan let out a long breath and turned to look at Su Fuguang beside him.
"Su Fuguang, I still feel like I'm dreaming."
Su Fuguang smiled, his eyes also somewhat dazed. "Me too."
The two smiled at each other, their hearts filled with emotion.
Just then, a figure walked in from outside the courtyard; it was Lu Jinghan.
"Senior Brother!" Qin Muchuan and Su Fuguang quickly went up to greet him, bowing in unison.
Lu Jinghan waved his hand and smiled. "No need for formalities."
He looked at Qin Muchuan and Su Fuguang, recalling the various events of his past life; now, in this lifetime, the three of them had all joined Kunlun, so they would certainly not encounter the same calamities as before.
He paused, his gaze sweeping across their faces. "I will take you to a place."
Qin Muchuan and Su Fuguang exchanged a glance and asked in unison, "What place?"
Lu Jinghan did not answer, simply turning and walking outside. "Follow me."
The three left the capital and headed north. Lu Jinghan traveled by flying on his sword, with Qin Muchuan and Su Fuguang closely following behind.
After flying for about half an hour, the three landed in front of a desolate canyon.
The sides of the canyon were steep rock walls where nothing grew, with only the whistling wind echoing in the valley.
A faint scent of blood permeated the air, as if a fierce battle had once taken place here.
"Senior Brother, what is this place?" Qin Muchuan looked around curiously.
Lu Jinghan's gaze was deep as he looked into the depths of the canyon, speaking slowly. "This place is called Zangjian Valley."
"Zangjian Valley?" Su Fuguang frowned slightly. "I feel like I've heard this name somewhere."
"It's normal that you haven't heard of it." Lu Jinghan withdrew his gaze and looked at the two. "Because this canyon will only appear before the world in a few years."
Qin Muchuan and Su Fuguang were both stunned. "Senior Brother, what do you mean by that?" Qin Muchuan asked, puzzled.
Lu Jinghan did not answer immediately, his gaze falling into the deep canyon, his eyes somewhat distant. He remembered his past life.
It was the fifth year after the Purple Bamboo Forest closed; he had traveled north from the Southern Wilderness and had been training in the Central Plains for several years.
At that time, he had just finished a life-and-death struggle and returned to the Southern Wilderness covered in wounds, just as news of the opening of Zangjian Valley spread throughout the entire Southern Wilderness.
That was the first time Zangjian Valley appeared before the world. No one knew where this canyon came from; it was as if, overnight, the desolate valley had been shrouded in a faint purple light.
When the news spread, the Southern Wilderness was shaken, and even Sword Cultivators from the other four regions rushed over upon hearing the news. Because in Zangjian Valley, the Legacy of ancient Sword Cultivators was buried.
Lu Jinghan still remembered that when he stepped into Zangjian Valley, the fierce Sword Intent rushing towards him felt as if it would tear his Divine Soul apart.
Everywhere in the valley were broken ancient swords, some stuck in the rock walls, others half-buried in the soil, with each sword emitting a different Sword Intent.
Lu Jinghan stayed in that canyon for three whole months, enduring the baptism of Sword Intent day and night to polish his Sword Dao.
He still remembered that in the deepest part of the valley, there was a huge cyan-gray Sword Stone, its surface covered with sword marks, each mark containing the Sword Intent of an ancient Sword Cultivator. That Sword Stone was the core of the entire Zangjian Valley. It was also a place that every Cultivator entering Zangjian Valley had to visit.
Lu Jinghan withdrew his thoughts and looked at Qin Muchuan and Su Fuguang beside him.
"Zangjian Valley is a relic left behind by ancient Sword Cultivators," he said slowly. "Buried in the valley are countless Sword Dao Opportunities, as well as the Legacies of countless Sword Cultivators."
Qin Muchuan and Su Fuguang exchanged a glance, their eyes full of curiosity. "Then shall we go in now?" Qin Muchuan said, eager to try.
Lu Jinghan shook his head. "We cannot enter. The Restriction of Zangjian Valley has not fully dissipated; forcing our way in will only result in being backlashed by the Sword Intent. At best, your Meridians will be severed; at worst, you will perish on the spot."
Upon hearing this, Qin Muchuan immediately deflated. "Then why did Senior Brother bring us here?"
The corners of Lu Jinghan's mouth lifted slightly, and he pointed towards the depths of the canyon. "Although we cannot go in, there is a Sword Stone at the valley entrance that constantly radiates Sword Dao pressure."
"Although that pressure is not as fierce as inside the valley, it is enough to be used to polish one's Sword Dao."
He paused, his gaze falling on the two. "You are not Sword Cultivators, but Sword Dao pressure is beneficial to any Cultivator. Cultivating under that pressure can temper the Divine Soul and consolidate your will, which will be of great benefit to your future Cultivation."
Su Fuguang nodded thoughtfully, while Qin Muchuan could no longer hold back, eager to try as he walked towards the canyon. "Then I'll go try it first!"
He had only taken a few steps when a fierce Sword Intent rushed towards him from the depths of the canyon.
Qin Muchuan's expression changed, his footsteps coming to a sudden halt. Veins bulged on his forehead, and his body stiffened in place, as if held at the throat by an invisible sword.
"Qin Muchuan!" Su Fuguang's expression changed drastically, and just as he was about to step forward, he was stopped by Lu Jinghan's hand.
"Don't move." Lu Jinghan's gaze was steady. "Let him endure it himself; this is a test of Sword Intent, and no one else can help him."
Upon hearing this, Su Fuguang could only stand in place, watching Qin Muchuan anxiously.
