68: Chapter 68 How many can the two of you handle?

Meanwhile, in the southwest border of the Zhouwu Dynasty, Canglan Town.

Though called a town, it was actually just a small border settlement with a single main street running from east to west, scattered with about a hundred households.

Lu Jinghan stepped into the town, his gaze scanning the surroundings.

This was the Canglan Town in his memories, exactly as it had been in his past life, without any change.

Qin Muchuan followed behind him, looking around curiously with a hint of novelty in his eyes: "Senior Brother, this place is so remote."

"We've come so far; what exactly are we looking for?"

Lu Jinghan didn't answer, simply walking along the main street, his gaze sweeping across the shops on both sides.

Inns, wine shops, general stores, and Medicinal Pill shops—everything was there. Though simple, it could be said that the sparrow was small but possessed all its internal organs.

"Let's find a place to stay first."

Lu Jinghan stopped in front of an inn called Kelai Residence.

The inn's storefront wasn't large, and the wooden sign was somewhat mottled, yet the characters carved on it were still quite clear.

Lu Jinghan pushed the door open and entered. The proprietor was a middle-aged fat man who greeted them with a smile.

His gaze swept over the three of them as he asked warmly, "Guests, are you stopping for a meal or staying the night?"

"Staying."

Lu Jinghan took a few Spirit Stones from his sleeve and placed them on the counter.

"Three premium rooms, for one night."

The proprietor's eyes lit up. He quickly took the Spirit Stones, retrieved three keys from the wall, and handed them over, saying attentively:

"Upstairs, please. Three 'Heaven' grade rooms, right next to each other. If you three guests need anything, just call out."

Lu Jinghan took the keys and turned to go upstairs.

Qin Muchuan and Su Fuguang followed behind, entering their respective rooms.

Lu Jinghan pushed open the door to 'Heaven' Room One. The room wasn't large, but it was clean and tidy.

He sat down at the table, poured a cup of tea, and fixed his gaze on the rolling mountains in the distance outside the window.

In his past life, he, Qin Muchuan, Su Fuguang, and those two scoundrels had set out from Canglan Town and entered those mountains, where they accidentally discovered a dilapidated Daoist arena.

The arena wasn't large, but it was the Legacy site left by that mysterious powerhouse.

The most precious items within were five medallions—the keys to opening the Tianyu Secret Realm in the Central Continent.

The Tianyu Secret Realm, one of the top Secret Realms in the Central Continent, opened once every ten thousand years.

Within the Secret Realm lay the Legacy left by Master Tianyu, along with countless Heaven And Earth Treasures and divine Magical Artifacts.

In his past life, the five of them had used those five medallions to enter the Tianyu Secret Realm, gaining immense opportunities within.

Thinking of this, Lu Jinghan's eyes turned slightly cold.

Toward Xiao Yuan and Bai Yue, he had been completely open and helpful.

But in return, he received betrayal and a tragic death.

Lu Jinghan set down the teacup and took a deep breath, suppressing the surging killing intent in his heart.

In this life, the fate of those two scoundrels had already been sealed from the moment of his Rebirth.

In his past life, it had taken them nearly a month to find that arena. In this life, guided by his memories, it would take three days at most.

While Lu Jinghan stood by the window pondering the next route, his brow suddenly furrowed slightly, and he instinctively looked toward the north.

A strange feeling inexplicably flashed through his heart, as if something was approaching, yet he couldn't say exactly what it was.

"An illusion?"

Lu Jinghan whispered to himself, spreading out his Divine Sense.

Everything around the inn was normal.

Canglan Town was too small—so small that there wasn't even a decent Cultivator; most of the residents were ordinary people.

Occasional low-level Loose Cultivators passing through had already left before nightfall.

There was no abnormality, no aura worth being wary of.

Lu Jinghan withdrew his Divine Sense, but his heart did not relax because of it.

Experience from his past life told him that the most terrifying thing in the cultivation world was not the visible enemy.

But rather those threats hidden in the shadows, whose existence you weren't even aware of.

He took a deep breath, suppressed the stray thoughts in his mind, and sat back down by the bed.

Regardless, he would first regulate his breathing and recover tonight, then enter the mountains first thing tomorrow morning.

The matter of the medallions should be resolved as quickly as possible.

In the northern part of the Southern Barrens, a grey figure was speeding through the night sky.

Yin Tianzheng's face was as grim as water as he held a compass. The emerald needle on the dial pointed straight toward the southwest, remaining motionless.

The aura of the heart-cleansing bamboo was coming from that direction.

"At this speed, I'll be able to catch up in three more days."

Yin Tianzheng muttered to himself, a cold light of determination flashing in his eyes.

The heart-cleansing bamboo was of vital importance to a certain Old Ancestor of the Liuli Sect who was Undergoing Tribulation; bringing it back would be a great achievement.

Yin Tianzheng put away the compass and accelerated.

His figure was like a streak of grey lightning, vanishing in an instant as he sped toward the southwest.

Three days later, among the mountains outside Canglan Town.

"Senior Brother, is this the place?" Qin Muchuan pushed aside a thicket of shrubs and poked his head out to look ahead.

Lu Jinghan stopped, his gaze falling on the dried-up creek valley ahead.

The creek valley wasn't wide, with steep rock walls on both sides. The creek water had long since dried up, leaving only a winding trail.

It was here in his past life; they had walked in this creek valley for a whole day before discovering the entrance to the arena at the end.

In this life, with his memories guiding the way, it took less than three days.

"Stay close to me, don't get separated."

Lu Jinghan stepped into the creek valley, while Qin Muchuan and Su Fuguang exchanged a glance and quickly followed.

Not long after, the three of them arrived at the dilapidated arena.

In the very center of the arena, a stone platform stood quietly. Atop the platform, five medallions were neatly arranged.

The medallions were dark gold, about the size of a palm, with an ancient seal character carved on the front—'Tian'.

"These are the medallions you mentioned?" Qin Muchuan walked to the stone platform and curiously sized up the five medallions.

Lu Jinghan nodded and waved his hand. The five medallions flew up from the stone platform and landed in his hand.

They felt cool and smooth to the touch, as if he were holding pieces of warm jade.

He put the medallions into his Storage Pouch and scanned the surroundings of the arena.

Aside from these five medallions, there was nothing else of value in the arena.

"Let's go."

Lu Jinghan turned and walked toward the exit they had come from.

The moment he took a step, a low growl came from deep within the arena. The sound was muffled and heavy, causing loose stones on the rock walls to rustle down.

Lu Jinghan paused, his brow furrowing slightly.

Qin Muchuan and Su Fuguang turned at the same time, their gazes warily fixed on the direction the sound came from.

Deep within the arena, pairs of crimson eyes lit up in the darkness.

One pair, two pairs, four pairs... they were densely packed, at least a dozen pairs.

Those eyes shimmered with bloodthirsty light in the darkness, staring fixedly at the three people standing in the center of the arena.

"What are those things?"

Qin Muchuan asked in a low voice, his tone carrying a hint of nervousness, but also a bit of eagerness to try.

Lu Jinghan didn't answer. His Divine Sense had already probed into the darkness, taking in all dozen or so auras.

Eleven Yao Beasts. The lowest cultivation among them was at the Early Nascent Soul Stage, and three of them were even faintly touching the threshold of the Nascent Soul Mid Stage.

Lu Jinghan was in no hurry to strike. Instead, he turned sideways to look at Qin Muchuan and Su Fuguang behind him.

"You two, how many can you handle?"
