392: Chapter 392 Near Death

On the other side.

Inside the hall.

As Xiao Weiqing entered the door.

Lou Xiaoxing spoke up, "A guessing game with no prize: how long do you think it'll take for Xiao Weiqing to come out this time?"

"Hard to say. I expect Xiao Weiqing will do what he usually does and test the strength of a First-Class Nirvana Warrior. He could be out in a few minutes," Yin Wenzheng said.

"It's possible," Tian Zhenzhen said. "Xiao Weiqing's strength is beyond our predictions; a Nirvana Warrior won't be able to stir up any trouble against him."

Lou Xiaoxing nodded. "Indeed."

Just as the three were reflecting on this.

Suddenly.

"Om— Om— Om—"

An urgent sound rang out.

The red warning light on the fourth door began to flash.

"Eh?"

"What's the situation?"

"Why is the fourth door sounding an alarm?"

Lou Xiaoxing asked.

"I don't know. This is the first time I've seen the warning light flash." Yin Wenzheng searched his memory but couldn't find any information regarding a flashing warning light.

Tian Zhenzhen said, "Do you think it's possible Xiao Weiqing did something inside, and the fourth door is about to open?"

Yin Wenzheng furrowed his brows. "It's not impossible."

Right then.

The door actually opened.

The next second.

"Swoosh—"

A streak of silver light shot out from inside the door.

Lou Xiaoxing's Divine Soul shuddered violently.

"Watch out!"

A Black Bow materialized in Lou Xiaoxing's hand, its divine runes glowing as it blocked the silver light.

Clang!

Looking closely, the silver light was a dagger.

The dagger struck the handle of the Black Bow, continuously pushing Lou Xiaoxing back.

Abruptly.

A figure leapt out from within the door.

A pale blue hand grabbed the dagger, and with a twist, it bypassed the Black Bow and aimed straight for Lou Xiaoxing's face.

"Get lost!"

Lou Xiaoxing was no longer in the Seventh Realm but the Eighth Realm; his power was more than a level stronger than before.

He slammed his right leg down to stop himself, spun the Black Bow, and swung it like a heavy staff.

But even so.

The dagger's sharp tip still grazed Lou Xiaoxing's brow, causing pale golden blood to seep out.

At this moment.

The three finally saw the newcomer clearly: a woman nearly two meters tall. Her face and figure were very similar to a human from Blue Star, but her skin was a pale blue overall, and there was a pattern the size of a silver coin on her forehead, its meaning unknown.

The newcomer was none other than Mirlan.

"Attack!"

Yin Wenzheng and Tian Zhenzhen reacted immediately.

The two besieged the woman from the left and right.

Yin Wenzheng held a large saber, its blade encircled by seven divine runes, as he launched a frontal assault.

Tian Zhenzhen utilized a ghost-like Movement Technique to appear behind the woman.

Swish—

The short blade in her hand sliced through the air, stabbing toward the back of the woman's head.

Unexpectedly.

The woman remained calm. She reached out her hand, and her pale blue palm crystallized, allowing her to catch Yin Wenzheng's saber blade with her bare hand.

Clang!

The crystallized palm and the saber blade produced the sound of clashing metal.

"What?"

Yin Wenzheng was terrified. Before he could react, he was kicked flying by the woman in the next second.

"Gah!"

Just one kick.

Yin Wenzheng flew backward, his internal organs ruptured and an unknown number of bones broken.

Then.

The woman turned and, holding her dagger, easily parried Tian Zhenzhen's short blade.

Her crystallized palm struck out rapidly, hitting Tian Zhenzhen squarely in the chest. Tian Zhenzhen felt as if she had been hit by a mountain; she flew back, slammed into the hall wall, and slumped down, losing her ability to fight.

Fast!

Too fast.

Everything happened in a flash. After Yin Wenzheng and Tian Zhenzhen attacked, the woman struck back with a speed that left them unable to react.

This was simply not a contest between the same level of strength.

After knocking Tian Zhenzhen away, the woman did not stop. She lunged forward, her dagger striking toward Tian Zhenzhen's throat.

"Watch out!"

An arrow flew out without warning.

However, because the shot was hurried and the space in the hall was limited, the arrow's power was insufficient. Even with the empowerment of Lou Xiaoxing's Divine Soul, the woman easily dodged it.

The woman ignored Lou Xiaoxing, a ruthless glint in her eyes as she prepared to kill Tian Zhenzhen.

Fortunately.

Lou Xiaoxing arrived just in time, shielding Tian Zhenzhen.

Clang—

The two began to fight intensely.

As an archer, Lou Xiaoxing's close-combat abilities were far from a match for the woman. After a few moves, his body was covered in wounds and blood flowed freely, though fortunately none were fatal.

However, this was no solution. If this continued, Lou Xiaoxing would likely bleed to death.

Moreover, Lou Xiaoxing could feel that the woman's combat techniques were superb; she constantly prevented him from drawing his bow again.

"Lou Xiaoxing, don't worry about me! Run, wait for Xiao Weiqing to come out!"

"Shut up!"

Lou Xiaoxing gave a thunderous shout.

A fierce glint flashed in his eyes.

He grabbed the woman's dagger, letting it pierce through his own palm.

Puchi!

Then, he spat a mouthful of Essence Blood onto the Black Bow.

The Black Bow opened automatically, a blood-colored arrow appeared, and the bow snapped open, firing it violently.

At such close range, the woman could not dodge in time.

The blood-colored arrow pierced through her body.

"Ugh—"

The woman hissed in pain, her expression momentarily dazed, but she quickly recovered, and the killing intent in her eyes grew even stronger.

Lou Xiaoxing was horrified at the sight.

"Divine Soul!"

Only a Divine Soul could have blocked that strike. This woman was not only powerful but undoubtedly possessed a Divine Soul as well.

Rip!

The woman pulled out the dagger and stabbed it into Lou Xiaoxing's other arm with a backhand strike.

Lou Xiaoxing's arm bone was pierced through, pinning him directly to the wall. His arm was instantly incapacitated, and he couldn't even hold the Black Bow anymore.

Boom—

Once again, the woman's palm crystallized, striking toward Lou Xiaoxing with terrifying power.

Lou Xiaoxing tilted his head just in time to dodge the blow.

The crystallized palm hit the wall behind him, erupting with a massive shockwave that nearly knocked him unconscious.

"Lou Xiaoxing!"

Tian Zhenzhen cried out in alarm.

Just as the woman was about to end their lives.

Her figure flickered and vanished, abandoning the kill.

"Not bad speed!"

A calm voice rang out where the woman had just been standing. A tall, straight figure slowly turned around; it was Xiao Weiqing.

"But, it's only 'not bad,' that's all."

The abrupt voice sounded behind the woman. Her pupils dilated in shock; at the spot where Xiao Weiqing had just been standing, a blurred image slowly dissipated. He was no longer there.

A flash of saber light.

Puchi!

Puchi!

"Aaaah!—"

With a shrill scream, the woman's arms were severed. It was so fast she couldn't react at all.

Bang—

Another kick. Xiao Weiqing didn't hold back at all. The woman's body folded ninety degrees as she slammed face-first into the hall wall.

Swoosh— swoosh—

With a wave of his hand, Xiao Weiqing transformed ten thousand calamities into five Coffin Nails, pinning the woman firmly to the wall. However, he intentionally avoided her vitals, leaving her alive.

The woman did not die immediately. Her severed arms had already begun to heal, stopping the bleeding. This kind of recovery speed was something only a Divine Body possessed.

Ignoring the woman for the moment.

Xiao Weiqing looked at Lou Xiaoxing. "Are you alright?"

"Xiao Weiqing, I'm not going to make it. Help me take a message back... tell them I've failed the organization's training."

Lou Xiaoxing's voice was tragic and grew weaker as he collapsed into Tian Zhenzhen's arms.

"Lou Xiaoxing, wake up!"

Tian Zhenzhen panicked instantly. If Lou Xiaoxing hadn't tried to save her, he wouldn't have ended up in this state.

"Zhenzhen, it's such a pity... I wish I had met you sooner."

"Don't talk like that, you'll be fine." Tian Zhenzhen took out the Medicinal Pill Lou Xiaoxing had given her earlier and stuffed it into his mouth.

Lou Xiaoxing shook his head. "Keep it for yourself... don't waste it."

"Sigh, to think my Lou family has been the sole heir for four generations... I didn't expect the line to end with me. I'm so unwilling..."

Lou Xiaoxing's voice was filled with unspeakable regret and self-reproach.
