485: Chapter 485 Support
"Sister Yi."
"Do you know what the situation is like on the various Demon Realm battlefields right now?"
Qian Yi said, "The situation at the three Yao Race entrances in Great Xia is currently quite stable. Battle reports are sent to Azure Dragon Island every day."
"The experts on Azure Dragon Island organize personnel to provide support to different battlefields based on the situation."
"By the way, I forgot to tell you. Since the Yao Race's full-scale invasion, Principal Xie and Principal Ning made a decision on your behalf. Lingshen Peak is now open to all Eighth Realm Experts in Great Xia, as long as they are willing to support the battlefields."
"So, more than half of the Eighth Realm Experts in Great Xia are gathered on Azure Dragon Island."
Xiao Weiqing nodded slightly; he understood. At that time, he was in a coma, so it was perfectly fine for the Old Headmaster and his teacher to make that decision.
Even if he had known then, he wouldn't have objected. He might have even skipped practicing the Starry Sky Ultimate Technique to return to Blue Star early.
"Sister Yi, you should focus on your cultivation. I'm going to support the battlefields."
"Are you going right now?" Qian Yi asked softly.
"Yes, the sooner the better."
"Alright."
"I'll finish Constructing a Divine Body as soon as possible, then I'll go help you."
"No need. Just focus on your cultivation; leave the rest to me."
"I'm leaving."
Xiao Weiqing turned to leave with swift determination, but Qian Yi grabbed him.
"What is it, Sister Yi?"
Qian Yi leaned close to Xiao Weiqing and pointed a slender finger at her red lips.
Xiao Weiqing understood and smiled.
Wrapping one arm around her slender waist and cradling the back of her head with the other, he lowered his head and pressed his lips against hers.
After a long while.
Qian Yi pushed Xiao Weiqing away. "Go on, and be careful."
"I will."
A few moments later.
Xiao Weiqing flew out of Azure Dragon Island.
He immediately dialed Ning Xing's communicator.
"Weiqing?"
Ning Xing's voice came through, carrying obvious exhaustion along with a hint of pleasant surprise.
"Teacher, it's me. I'm back."
"Good, it's good that you're back."
"Teacher, how is the situation at the Luojiang Demon Realm Entrance? I'm heading there now."
"No, don't come here," Ning Xing said.
Xiao Weiqing was puzzled. "Why?"
"Go to the Honghua Yao Race battlefield in the Vermilion Bird Empire."
"Yesterday, the Yao Race launched their largest invasion yet. No fewer than twenty Demonic Race Demigods entered Blue Star."
"Six of them are at the Honghua Demon Realm Entrance. There are others at the remaining four entrances, but those Demonic Race Demigods haven't made a move yet. They want to tie us down and prioritize capturing Red Flower Base."
"Yin Zong asked for help last night. We sent two Ninth Realm Nirvana Warriors over, but the situation is still grim. According to Yin Zong, something is wrong with the Palace Master Yun Shu's health. I'm afraid she won't be able to hold out for much longer."
Xiao Weiqing was startled. "I understand. I'm going there now."
"Teacher, don't worry about saving the First-Grade Divine Body Treasures. Holding the Demon Realm Entrance is what matters. When I get back, I'll solve everything."
On the other end of the Wristband.
Ning Xing was briefly stunned, then overjoyed. Xiao Weiqing sounded so certain that he must be confident. It seemed his trip to the Star Dome had definitely been fruitful.
"Alright, I understand."
"Yes. Goodbye, Teacher."
He hung up the call.
Xiao Weiqing tapped his Wristband a couple of times to summon his aircraft. The aircraft was silver-gray and triangular, with a seamless hull that looked highly advanced.
This was a gift from Great Xia to Xiao Weiqing a year ago, and it had been hidden near the entrance of Azure Dragon Island.
The hatch opened.
Xiao Weiqing entered the aircraft, which turned around on the spot and flew toward the Vermilion Bird Empire.
Inside the aircraft.
After a moment's thought, Xiao Weiqing tried to contact the Palace Master Yun Shu, but after several attempts, there was no answer.
"Has it already fallen?"
Frowning deeply, Xiao Weiqing opened a channel to Yin Zong.
"Elder Yin."
"Xiao Weiqing?! Is that you?"
"Yes, it's me, Elder Yin. How is the situation on your end?"
"Not good. Six Demonic Race Demigods are constantly wearing down our strength. The Palace Master Yun Shu's condition is getting worse; she sometimes loses consciousness for no reason."
"The three Nirvana Warriors are burning through First-Grade Divine Body Treasures too quickly. They won't be able to hold out much longer."
"Those six demigods are clearly trying to kill the Palace Master Yun Shu."
Yin Zong was right. Even though the six demigods were together, they hadn't launched a full-scale assault. Instead, they were continuously wearing down the Vermilion Bird Army. The Demonic Race Demigods were taking turns fighting the Palace Master Yun Shu simply to exhaust her.
The Demonic Race Demigods weren't stupid. They knew the Palace Master Yun Shu was at the end of her rope and was only holding on by a thread. They didn't want to be dragged down with her if she made a final, desperate stand.
"Hold out for two hours."
"I'll be there soon."
"You're... coming here?" Yin Zong was overjoyed.
"Yes. Tell the Palace Master Yun Shu not to engage in direct combat. Just stall those six demigods. Don't let them escape. Wait for me."
"Alright, alright."
Yin Zong was ecstatic.
...
...
Red Flower Base.
Yin Zong went to find Ruan Zhen.
"Old Ghost Yin, what do you want? If you don't have a way to solve this crisis, don't bother me."
Within a single day.
Ten consecutive attacks from the Yao Race had left Ruan Zhen exhausted, and he had even lost an arm.
Yet even so, the Empire's Marshal still spoke with a booming voice, full of vigor and a magnificent Aura.
Yin Zong released his Mental Energy and opened an isolated space.
Ruan Zhen was surprised. "Hmm? You really have something?"
"Xiao Weiqing has appeared."
"Xiao Weiqing? Where?"
"On his way here."
"For real?"
Ruan Zhen stood up in excitement. He didn't fear death, but he feared that if he died in battle, the front lines would collapse, and the people behind him would be slaughtered by the Yao Race, leaving rivers of blood.
"Yes, he's on his way. He told us to hold out for two hours."
"Good."
"Three hours! Even if I have to sacrifice my life, I won't let the Yao Race take a single step past this base."
"Idiot!"
"What did you say?!" Ruan Zhen roared in anger. "Old Ghost Yin, are you looking for a beating? Even if I fight you with one hand tied behind my back, you're still no match for me."
"Heh... You really are down to one hand."
"Piss off! Make yourself clear."
"We're going to launch an offensive," Yin Zong said.
"What? Are you crazy? You want to attack now? The Vermilion Bird Army is decimated..."
"That's exactly why I want to attack," Yin Zong interrupted. "We don't need to actually fight; we just need to stall for two hours."
"Xiao Weiqing has been missing for a year. Now he shows up and heads straight here, knowing we're facing six demigods, and he specifically told me to stall them and not let them escape."
Ruan Zhen calmed down and caught on. "Which means he doesn't care about the six demigods at all, or maybe he even intends to kill them all?"
"Exactly."
"What do you have in mind?"
"We'll put on a show of force. The more noise we make, the better. We'll act like we're preparing for a massive counterattack."
"Will that work?" Ruan Zhen asked skeptically.
"We've been on the defensive for three months. If we suddenly look like we're counterattacking, do you think the Yao Race will believe it?"
"How should I know? I'm not one of them."
Yin Zong: "..."
He felt exhausted—more exhausted than he felt when facing the Yao Race.
"Even if the Yao Race doesn't believe it, stalling for two hours shouldn't be an issue. If we're found out, the worst-case scenario is just starting the battle anyway."
"Fine. You're the one with all the dirty tricks; I'll listen to you."
"If this fails, you'd better be the one to bury me."
Ruan Zhen strode away, completely fearless.
