405: Chapter 405 The Great Sage
Average is fine then.
Xiao Weiqing didn't want to dwell on that too much.
"Senior, you were looking for me. Is there something you need?"
The old man said, "It's not me looking for you; the Great Sage wants to see you."
"The Great Sage?"
"He is the guardian of the entire ruins, the guide of the civilization's Legacy, a true sage."
"He's still alive?"
"Nonsense. Although the Great Sage isn't skilled in combat, he is still a Star Lord. It's normal for him to be alive, though he doesn't have much longer to live. After all, a Star Lord can live for ten or twenty thousand years."
"Even though the Great Sage has entered hibernation several times, he still cannot withstand the power of time and is nearing death." The old man's voice was filled with unspeakable sorrow.
"Follow me."
A door appeared in front of the old man, and he was the first to step inside.
Xiao Weiqing followed closely behind.
...
A magnificent hall.
The vaulted ceiling was as high and vast as the sky, solemn and dignified.
Ten divine statues stood on either side of the hall, each over ten zhang tall, made of white jade with gold inlay. Some held weapons with angry glares, while others lowered their eyes and performed hand seals, their bodies surrounded by a faint divine light.
As soon as Xiao Weiqing stepped into the hall, he felt as if he were standing before gods. A sense of awe filled his heart, and he didn't dare speak recklessly.
At the end of the hall.
On a massive throne sat a God of War. Even while seated, he was a zhang taller than the surrounding statues. The powerful aura he radiated made Xiao Weiqing afraid to look directly at him.
"Come here, child."
An abrupt voice rang out.
"Holy crap!"
Xiao Weiqing's heart skipped a beat. A corpse coming back to life?
"What are you standing there for?"
"Hurry up and come over," the old man's voice sounded.
Xiao Weiqing looked down and saw two figures beneath the throne.
One of them was slender, three meters tall, and looked like a withered tree; it felt like a gust of wind could knock him over.
The old man beside him was incredibly respectful toward this elder.
This was the Great Sage of the Kuhn Civilization?
"Is he really a Star Lord?"
Xiao Weiqing was doubtful but slowly stepped forward.
"Junior Qin Weixiao of the Blue Star Civilization greets the Great Sage."
"Why use a fake name?"
The Great Sage asked with a squinted smile. Although his eyes didn't seem to be open, Xiao Weiqing felt as if he were naked, seen through completely.
Xiao Weiqing was startled.
"He could tell even that?"
"Uh... it's a former name. It's a former name, not exactly a fake one."
"My other name is Xiao Weiqing."
Xiao Weiqing gave an embarrassed laugh.
"Is that so?"
The Great Sage didn't dwell on it and spoke slowly, "Child, how about we make a deal?"
Xiao Weiqing's heart tightened. Making a deal with an old monster who had lived for countless years always felt like he might be sold out.
"Great Sage, why don't you tell me what the deal is first?"
"Kid, the deal the Great Sage is offering only has benefits for you and no downsides. Hurry up and agree," the old man said.
The Great Sage stopped him, "It's fine. I like dealing with smart people. Grace, it's okay to let Xiao Weiqing consider it."
"Yes."
Grace. This was the first time Xiao Weiqing had learned the old man's name.
"The deal I'm proposing is that once you take control of this Incubation Ground, you gift our Kuhn Civilization a habitable planet so we can rebuild our civilization."
This sentence made Xiao Weiqing freeze on the spot, his brain unable to process it.
"Great Sage, I don't quite understand," Xiao Weiqing asked honestly.
"Go ahead."
"Why do you believe that I will control this Incubation Ground in the future? Also, how large is this Incubation Ground? How many habitable planets are there? And planets can be gifted?"
Xiao Weiqing asked many questions in one breath.
The Great Sage said, "I'll answer the first question first. Intuition. My intuition tells me that you will become the Dominator of this world in the future."
"Intuition?"
Xiao Weiqing was somewhat speechless. Was it that casual?
"Even if you said you could prophesy, or saw fragments of the future, or saw me killing in all directions in the starry sky, defeating powerful enemies and ruling the world—it would be better than vague intuition."
The Great Sage smiled, "My intuition has always been very accurate."
"Back then, I sensed in the darkness that our civilization was about to perish. I had the Star Lords of the Kuhn Civilization at that time work together to create these ruins, giving my Kuhn Civilization a chance to rise again."
"Good grief, he's a jinx," Xiao Weiqing thought to himself.
He felt he had discovered the reason for the destruction of the Kuhn Civilization. Of course, he couldn't say this out loud, or he might not make it out of the hall.
"Please continue."
Xiao Weiqing said respectfully.
The Great Sage continued, "As for how large this Incubation Ground is, I'm not entirely sure. We didn't arrive here very early. However, over all these years, a total of six nascent civilizations have been here."
"Six?"
"Great Sage, can you tell me which six?"
"The Spirit Beast Civilization, the Three Star Civilization, the Star Ring Civilization, the Heng Hui Civilization, the Eternal Day Civilization, and then there's yours, the Blue Star Civilization."
"These six civilizations together form your Incubation Ground."
"I see."
Xiao Weiqing nodded, then frowned. "Wait, Great Sage, our Blue Star is currently being invaded by the Yao Race. Don't they count?"
"They are considered an external civilization."
"External civilization?"
"Invaders. They are not native to the Incubation Ground."
"Then does no one manage this? Didn't they say the Incubation Ground is subject to human intervention from the Fifth Universe Civilization?"
The Great Sage explained patiently, "Although the Fifth Universe Civilization is also controlled by the Human Race, because the territory is too vast and their control is insufficient, many places are occupied by alien races. This involves many factors and is difficult to explain in a short time."
At this point, the Great Sage changed the subject. "You don't think you're the only victims, do you?"
"Are we not?"
The Great Sage shook his head. "In other Star Domains of the Universe, in places you cannot see, the Human Race is also warring against alien races. It's hard to say who is invading whom. Do you think the Yao Race being invaded are victims?"
"Would you sympathize with them?"
Xiao Weiqing understood. "Weakness is the original sin."
The Great Sage nodded. "That's exactly the logic."
"Now to answer your last question."
"Planets can be gifted, and they can also be bought and sold. They are a common type of universal currency. Those with life are even more valuable."
"However, we don't need that. You only need to give us one habitable planet."
Xiao Weiqing took a deep breath.
"Great Sage, I've only just entered the Eighth Realm. According to the strength classification of universal civilizations, I'm only Tier 3. I'm not even a Star Lord. I'm a bit overwhelmed that you're discussing a deal involving a planet with me now."
Xiao Weiqing was truly a bit dazed.
"If he were facing Qingfeng from Civilization Relic No. 1, or the demigod Kolen, or even the Phantom Moon Star Lord, Xiao Weiqing would dare to try and get some benefits."
But.
The Kuhn Civilization was different. Its Legacy was very complete, and even the Great Sage was still alive. Just this one Trial Grounds and those Nirvana Warriors, if taken outside, would be enough to give any nation on Blue Star a hard time.
Xiao Weiqing really didn't dare to agree to anything recklessly.
Otherwise.
In the past, he would have long ago sworn an oath by the gods.
