602: Chapter 602 Apology
Yuling Auction House building.
99th floor.
Inside the largest office.
"Knock, knock~"
"General Manager, the people have been brought here."
Peiwen stood at the door with Qiu Ming and Pale.
"Mm, come in."
The three of them walked into the spacious office.
A three-meter-tall burly man with four eyes was feeding fish.
The fish tank was huge, housing dozens of fish of various colors and types.
The burly man held a handful of fish food in his hand, feeding them slowly. The small fish moved back and forth following the man's hand, all wanting to get the first bite.
Suddenly.
A small fish of a strange color leaped out of the water, opening its mouth to bite at the fish food before it hit the water.
At that moment.
A strange thing happened; just as the small fish was about to eat the food, its entire body was frozen in mid-air, watching helplessly as the food fell from its mouth into the water.
"Why don't you follow the rules?"
With a sigh from the burly man, the small fish disintegrated in mid-air, as if it had never existed, but there was definitely one less fish in the tank.
Seemingly having lost interest in feeding the fish, the burly man threw all the remaining fish food into the water, causing the fish to scramble for it.
"Sit."
The burly man said softly, walking back to his seat.
Peiwen did not move.
Qiu Ming and Pale also did not move. Not only did they not move, but Pale's legs seemed unable to hold him up, trembling incessantly.
Qiu Ming lowered his head, cold sweat dripping from his forehead down his cheeks. He dared not breathe loudly. The burly man in front of him was not only a General Manager who managed all auctions below Level 7 for the Yuling Auction House, but also a genuine powerhouse of the Undying Realm.
"I have been in charge of this office for... millions of years, or... tens of millions of years?"
The burly man seemed to be asking the three of them, yet also asking himself.
"This is the first time someone has complained that our Yuling Auction House threatened a customer—and a member of the Holy Land with Seventh Heaven clearance, at that."
As the burly man's voice fell, a complaint letter materialized in front of him, appearing out of thin air.
"Hmph~ hmph~~"
"A bit interesting."
The burly man looked at the complaint letter in his hand, saying with interest.
"Thump!"
Pale could no longer stand and fell to his knees.
What did he do?
Seventh Heaven clearance?
That young man is a Seventh Heaven member, why has he never seen him?
"Lord Kangu, I... I..."
The burly man's expression grew cold. He released his fingers, and the complaint letter flew automatically to Pale.
"Take the complaint letter and go find your father."
"Get out!"
Pfft~
Pale looked as if he had been struck hard. His Face turned deathly pale, and a mouthful of blood sprayed out, landing entirely on the complaint letter without a single drop hitting the floor.
"Yes, Lord Kangu."
Pale crawled away, leaving the office in a panic.
Inside the office, only the burly man, Peiwen, and Qiu Ming remained.
Logically, Qiu Ming should have defended himself; after all, the fault was not his, but entirely caused by Pale.
However.
Qiu Ming knew that in this office, any defense was superfluous; he could only wait for the verdict.
Time ticked by second by second.
Qiu Ming felt as though a long time had passed, yet also felt as if he had just entered the office.
Finally.
The burly man spoke.
"Handle the matter well, and the vacant Level 8 manager position will still be yours."
"If you don't handle it well, you will go to Ansae Star to be a secretary for Xiaoyu."
"Yes, Lord Kangu."
Qiu Ming let out a sigh of relief; as long as there was a chance to salvage the situation, it was fine.
"Go."
Qiu Ming bowed respectfully and exited the office.
"Peiwen."
"Teacher."
"Raise Xiao Weiqing's auction clearance to Level 8."
"Teacher, should we notify Lord Xuanri and the others? We don't have that authority, only the right to apply."
The burly man was slightly angry upon hearing this.
"Notify them my ass!"
"Those bastards are waiting to laugh at me. How can I let them off without them paying a price? Just raise it to Level 8. Whether they approve it or how they handle it, what does that have to do with me? If they have the guts, let them reject it."
"Also, arrange for Xiao Weiqing's thunder god crystal to be auctioned tomorrow night. If it goes for less than 800,000 credits, you buy it."
"Understood, Teacher."
"Go do it."
Before the words had even faded, the burly man's figure had already vanished from the office. Peiwen slowly backed out and closed the door.
Returning from the Fourth Heaven to the Sixth Heaven.
Xiao Weiqing did not return to the manor, but went directly to the Source Pool.
It was not until the sky grew dark that Xiao Weiqing hurried back to the manor.
"Master, you are back."
"Mm."
"Master, there are two people who have been at the garden entrance the whole time, saying they are looking for you."
"Looking for me, who?"
Yuanbao opened the virtual interface and displayed the image of the garden entrance.
"One is a Sixth Heaven member, Woming, ranked 47th in strength on Yunjing Mountain, and 46th in the overall Sixth Heaven rankings."
"The other is a Level 7 manager of the Yuling Auction House, Pale."
Xiao Weiqing raised an eyebrow; he was somewhat surprised to see Pale.
Was it because of that complaint letter?
"Let them in."
"Alright, Master."
Before long.
Two dark figures flew low in the distance, rapidly approaching Xiao Weiqing.
"Xiao Weiqing, hello. My name is Woming, and I am also a Sixth Heaven member. I have come specifically to visit. I hope I haven't interrupted you while you Cultivate."
Woming introduced himself first, his tone and posture very humble.
"No, I just returned from the Source Pool."
"Is something the matter?"
Xiao Weiqing asked, knowing the answer.
"Sigh, it is somewhat shameful to say, but I have come for my good-for-nothing brother."
Woming glanced at Pale beside him.
"Your brother?"
To be honest, Xiao Weiqing was a bit shocked.
Judging by his life aura, Woming was only about one or two hundred years old.
However.
Pale was, at the very least, over tens of thousands of years old.
"Uh... yes."
Woming was also a bit awkward; among his many brothers, Pale could be considered one of the oldest, yet he was the most useless.
"Pale!"
Woming scolded.
Pale's body stiffened, then he raised the box in his hands with both hands; the box also had a blood-stained complaint letter pressed on top of it.
"Xiao Weiqing, today at the Yuling Auction House, I was blind as a dog and offended you. Please forgive me."
Pale bowed, extremely respectfully.
Xiao Weiqing took the box and the complaint letter underneath.
"No way, did you cough up blood from anger?"
Xiao Weiqing frowned. Was this coming to apologize, or to blackmail him?
He opened the box.
Inside was a fire god crystal half an inch in diameter.
Xiao Weiqing closed the box and looked at Woming. Bringing a gift, it must be to make amends.
"This is Lord Kangu's punishment. Pale brought it upon himself; it has nothing to do with you."
"I hope that for the sake of my father's Face, you will not hold it against Pale."
"Of course, I am not using my father to pressure you. I brought Pale here to sincerely apologize."
Xiao Weiqing frowned and asked:
"May I ask your father's name?"
"Uh..."
Woming looked at Xiao Weiqing, unsure whether to say it. Even if he didn't say it, Xiao Weiqing would likely be able to find out; it wasn't a secret.
But the key was that Woming wanted to know why Xiao Weiqing was asking for his father's name.
Seeing Woming hesitate, Xiao Weiqing said quickly:
"You don't need to mind. I just wanted to say, thank your father for me; I do indeed need the fire god crystal."
"Then Pale..."
Xiao Weiqing smiled: "I have already filed a complaint. How the rest is handled is the auction house's business; I will not ask again."
"Understood. Pale will not appear in the auction house again."
"Whatever, I said I won't ask again."
Woming nodded, "Alright, then I won't disturb you further."
"Please go ahead."
"Farewell."
