554: Chapter 554 Six Spots

The next day.

Xiao Weiqing arrived at the Ascension Battle arena once more. The arena, which had been split open yesterday, had been restored to its original state, showing not a trace of damage.

At this moment, on the arena, there were ten veteran members and ten contestants. Those who were eliminated yesterday did not come.

Ailar stepped forward and said, "Since everyone is here, let's begin."

A veteran contestant stepped out. Xiao Weiqing recalled the information on this person: Yin Yi, who possessed an Earth-type Domain.

On the contestants' side, the fourth to step up was Leibo, who also possessed an Earth-type Domain.

"This is interesting."

Since both possessed Earth-type Domains, everyone was looking forward to seeing their respective abilities and who would prove stronger.

"Who do you think has a better chance of winning?"

Facing Ze's question, Xiao Weiqing hesitated for a moment before answering, "It should be Leibo."

"Why?"

"Just a feeling."

Ze: "..."

Rumble~ In the center of the arena, two powerful energies appeared without warning. One was earth-yellow, the other was yellowish-brown—a pure clash of Domains.

Yin Yi took a step forward, his Aura intensifying.

Leibo was completely unfazed and strode forward.

"Not bad!" Yin Yi praised.

Leibo gave a cold snort, "Don't use that tone of an elder; I don't like it."

"Oh?"

"Then let's see if you have the strength to back it up."

Boom~ A rumble sounded from within Yin Yi's body. His figure suddenly surged, his arms and thighs thickening, his muscles bulging with power.

Leibo's expression turned grave, his body tense. While he didn't lose out in words, he couldn't underestimate his opponent in action.

Bang~ Leaving a shallow footprint on the arena floor, Yin Yi shot forward, his entire being exuding a terrifying Aura as he plunged into Leibo's Domain.

Two figures instantly clashed.

Half an hour later. The Domains dissipated; one person had fallen, and one remained standing.

"It seems your feeling was right," Ze said softly.

Xiao Weiqing looked at the nearly exhausted Leibo and said with a smile, "Leibo got a bit lucky."

Yin Yi's strength was clearly superior to Leibo's, but his use of his Domain was not as good as Leibo's.

Leibo's Domain ability could change the gravity within a certain range, something that had been experienced during the arena round-robin tournament.

Meanwhile, Yin Yi's Domain seemed only able to increase gravity, so he was effectively suppressed.

In the end, after a minute of exchanging punches and kicks, Leibo wore him down to victory.

Leibo dragged his exhausted body back to the edge of the arena and shoved a handful of Medicinal Pill into his mouth to quickly recover his state. Although he hadn't sustained any major injuries, his Source Power was nearly depleted, and he didn't know if he could recover in such a short time.

Following the current trend, it was basically certain that there would be extra play-offs.

The other contestants judged the situation similarly.

Currently, Ze, Xiao Weiqing, and Leibo had already won. Xiao Weiqing had even defeated the strongest, Morei, so the probability of subsequent contestants winning would be even higher.

Among the eight, Givens and Lotte would undoubtedly win their matches, which would fill five of the quota spots.

But don't forget, besides Xiao Weiqing and Leibo, there were five others who possessed Domains; it was impossible for them not to win a single match.

In terms of raw strength, the veteran members, including Ailar and two other members with Domains—even if those three defeated the contestants with Domains, there were still three others.

This was the worst-case scenario, because in all likelihood, Ailar and the two veteran members with Domains wouldn't even meet them, meaning the probability of the six contestants with Domains winning the Ascension Battle was even higher.

Theoretically, if all five won, the number of people entering the Sixth Heaven would suddenly reach ten, but there were only five spots.

"Fifth match, prepare."

Xiao Weiqing saw the veteran member and the contestant who were to fight, and his brows tightened slightly.

The anticipated situation had occurred. The veteran member fighting was powerful and possessed a Domain, while the No. 10 contestant from the round-robin tournament, despite having 19 wins, still lacked strength.

In the end, after a fierce battle of over ten minutes, the No. 10 contestant was knocked out of the arena's competition area, full of unwillingness.

Ze said softly, "Xiao Weiqing, it seems there's a chance I'll get to fight you."

There were seven contestants left now, each with considerable strength. The contestants with Domains were very likely to win all their matches, leading to a surplus of candidates for the quotas, making play-offs inevitable.

In the fifth match, the No. 5 contestant went up and defeated a veteran student without a Domain.

In the sixth match, the No. 4 contestant went up and also defeated a veteran student without a Domain, even quite easily.

Without a top-tier Starry Sky Ultimate Technique or a Dharma Body, it was hard to beat a Domain. A Domain could basically be considered invincible at the same rank, providing too great a boost to one's own strength.

The battle continued.

In the seventh match, the No. 6 contestant was defeated because he ran into Ailar, though Ailar did not win easily.

In the eighth and ninth matches, Givens and Lotte entered the arena one after another, and both won easily.

Givens, unarmed, knocked down a veteran member in just a few moves without revealing too much of his strength.

Lotte faced a veteran member with a Domain. This battle also allowed everyone to see Lotte's Second-Layer Domain; from the outside, it looked like a huge pale blue water sphere suddenly appearing on the arena.

It vanished in a flash.

Then, the battle was over.

The veteran member with the Domain had no resistance throughout, or rather, was completely unable to resist.

Three battles remained. The veteran members only had one person with a Domain, and the remaining two posed no threat. The three contestants all possessed Domains.

Currently, those who had won the Ascension Battle were Ze, Xiao Weiqing, Leibo, No. 4, No. 5, Givens, and Lotte.

Just as everyone expected.

Three contestants, two of whom defeated their opponents, won the Ascension Battle.

The final winners of the Ascension Battle were Ze, Xiao Weiqing, Leibo, No. 4, No. 5, Givens, Lotte, and No. 3.

"There are eight people in total, but there are only five spots. You must have a play-off; three need to be eliminated," Ailar stepped forward and said, seemingly very interested in the play-off for Xiao Weiqing and the others.

The remaining veteran members and the eliminated contestants retreated one by one.

Only the eight contestants participating in the play-off and Ailar remained on the Ascension Battle arena.

"How will the play-off work?" Leibo asked. After two hours, he had recovered most of his strength. Although he was not at his Peak, he had no other choice.

Ailar said, "Unknown for now, wait a moment."

Ailar was also a bit puzzled. Logically, the next stage should proceed. It was highly likely to be a gauntlet match where every contestant would have to fight every other contestant, with those having the most wins entering the Sixth Heaven.

If the number of wins was the same, then it would depend on the head-to-head record.

However, for some reason, Lord Dekar had not spoken yet.

About five minutes passed.

A majestic voice echoed from the Void Realm, "Add one spot for the Sixth Heaven. Givens, Lotte, and Xiao Weiqing receive spots directly. The rest enter the play-off."

"Yes, Lord Dekar," Ailar said respectfully.

The eight contestants had different expressions. Givens and Lotte's expressions did not change; they seemed indifferent to this. Regardless, they would both get a spot—that was the difference in strength; no one could threaten them.

As for Xiao Weiqing, he raised an eyebrow. Being able to obtain a spot directly was unexpected. He figured his performance in the previous battle against Morei must have caught the eye of the powerhouse in the Undying Realm.

The other five had different expressions, and one could only wonder what they were thinking.
