130: Infiltration

However, within a radius of several dozen kilometers around this canyon, Tian Yu's reconnaissance report showed that two army groups were guarding all major traffic arteries, and radar stations and mobile radar detection vehicles were also set up nearby.

More importantly, these two army groups were also equipped with two surface-to-air missile brigades in the north and south, making an aerial entry extremely difficult.

A full-scale assault by a large force was no longer feasible; only infiltration by a small, disguised unit was possible.

Thinking of this, Li Xiao called Ling Chao over.

Among the new recruits refreshed in the past few days, another Shadow Special Operations Soldier specializing in communications had been added, bringing the total to six, including the original ones.

Li Xiao added ten million HP to this new Shadow Special Operations Soldier, and now the veteran Shadow Special Forces had over eleven million HP.

"Report!"

"Come in."

Fully armed, Ling Chao was filled with a murderous aura, and the temperament of the Shadow Special Forces was fully embodied in him.

"Boss, is there any mission?"

"Yes, have the team members change into civilian clothes; we will depart shortly."

Li Xiao couldn't wait to uncover that secret. He went to the warehouse and stuffed his backpack with a large amount of ammunition, grenades, and C4 explosives.

Additionally, there were the five four-tube rocket launchers and over a hundred rockets he had kept in stock. He also borrowed a mortar and thirty shells from Yang Chao, as well as two sets of man-portable air-defense systems and ten Stinger anti-aircraft missiles.

This was his strongest individual equipment.

Arriving at the barracks where the Shadow Special Forces were resting, Li Xiao packed the weapons and equipment they had swapped out into his backpack, and then, escorted by Zhao Feipeng's reconnaissance platoon, they set off for Wu Province.

Over a distance of more than two thousand kilometers, it took Li Xiao and his team two days and one night to enter the territory of Wu Province. At this point, Zhao Feipeng stood by nearby, while they used pre-prepared civilian off-road vehicles to pass through the Black Hawk Unit checkpoints in two batches.

As a necessary skill for every member of the Shadow Special Forces to infiltrate behind enemy lines, dealing with ordinary checkpoint inspections was a piece of cake.

After passing the last checkpoint, Li Xiao led Ling Chao and the others to a remote location forty kilometers in a straight line from the canyon where the mysterious factory was located, abandoned their vehicles, and trekked into the mountains.

After Ling Chao parked and hid the two civilian off-road vehicles in a quiet spot, he ducked into the forest. Li Xiao then took out their original combat equipment from his backpack and distributed two base units of ammunition, as well as one day's worth of individual rations and drinking water to each person.

Li Xiao judged that the area around the canyon might have already been controlled, with various detection devices and even surveillance everywhere, so they needed to cut into the canyon from a more remote position.

At this moment, Ling Chao, as the team leader, also began to arrange the operational details.

"Attention everyone, after approaching the target area, you can only communicate via throat microphones. No loud noises are allowed. Is that understood?"

"Understood!"

After speaking, everyone began to move through the dense forest.

There were no paths in the mountains, so they had to grope their way forward. Several hours later, they arrived within twenty kilometers of the canyon, and by then, the sky had darkened.

Ling Chao believed that night visibility was poor, and even with night vision goggles, the effect would not be significant, so he suggested resting in place.

To avoid being detected by infrared thermal imaging reconnaissance equipment, they could not light fires or use self-heating meals; they could only consume dry rations and cold canned food.

This was Li Xiao's first time spending the night in the forest, and the air in front of his face was filled with dense swarms of mosquitoes—the kind where you could kill dozens with a single slap.

Fortunately, Ling Chao was very experienced and had brought mosquito repellent spray before leaving; once sprayed on, it felt cool and kept the mosquitoes away.

After a night of suffering, they spent the morning arriving at a position only five kilometers from the canyon.

Here, Ling Chao and the team members carefully discovered traces of human activity. Judging from the footprints and some discarded trash, it looked like a patrol unit.

Consequently, they all became vigilant and disengaged the safety on their rifles. Their muzzles were all fitted with silencers to infiltrate the target area more stealthily.

To reduce the risk of being detected by infrared detection equipment, Li Xiao, including Ling Chao and everyone else, began pouring cold water on themselves. Bottle after bottle of drinking water was poured down from their collars, and soon everyone turned into water-soaked figures.

The forest at noon was very muggy, and combined with the soaking wet clothes and sweat, everyone felt exceptionally uncomfortable.

However, Ling Chao and the others were fine, but Li Xiao really couldn't stand it.

But since they had already reached this place, they had to do this if they wanted to survive.

Having advanced only one kilometer, they immediately encountered an enemy patrol, a group of ten, patrolling along a fixed route.

These patrol members had focused gazes and agile movements; just as Wang Si had said, they were definitely not ordinary Black Hawk Unit soldiers.

After avoiding the patrol, they continued forward for a few hundred meters, and just as Yue Ge was about to cross a small stream, he was pulled back by Ling Chao.

"What's going on?" Yue Ge asked in a low voice.

Ling Chao didn't speak but pointed across the stream. Everyone looked over and was surprised to find that a surveillance camera was mounted on a large tree on the opposite bank of the stream, and it was a wireless network monitor.

The monitor's view was aimed directly at the stream water; as soon as Yue Ge crawled out of the bushes, he would immediately be exposed to the enemy's line of sight.

Following the clues, they quickly found multiple hidden cameras.

"What should we do?" Li Xiao had absolutely no experience with this kind of situation.

Ling Chao shook his head and said, "To pass through this kind of surveillance, we can only use a signal jammer to interfere with the monitor, causing a brief interruption in the video transmission. This is the only method with a high probability of not being noticed by the enemy, but unfortunately, we are not equipped with signal jammers."

"Sigh!" Li Xiao slapped his forehead. "This is my fault. I didn't tell you the operational details and the situation regarding the target beforehand; otherwise, you would have thought to bring signal jammers."

"Then what should we do now, Boss?"

Li Xiao thought for a moment, and his eyes lit up. "I have a way!"

He immediately opened the friend system and sent a voice message to Liu Nian.

"Wow, Lao Xiao, what have you been up to these past few days? You didn't come to the command headquarters meeting, and you didn't come to fight. Do you know how much impact the Black Hawk Unit patrol has had on us recently? Our team has lost dozens of brothers recently."

"I know all of this. I am doing something very important. Once I return, I will have a way to deal with those armed helicopters!"

"Alright, what do you need me for? Tell me."

"It's like this: go to the black market immediately and see if there are any signal jammers. Buy two and list them on the trading center, and I'll buy them instantly."

"Signal jammers?" Liu Nian asked, puzzled. "What do you need that for? I've never even heard of it."

"Don't worry about it. If you can't find them, mobilize more people to ask around in a few more cities."

"Alright..."
