37: Tiger H9 military off-road vehicle

Over the previous two days, the warehouse and the military academy had already been completed. He now held 37,000 Steel, 35,000 Fuel, 12,000 Rare Ore, and 19,000 Star Coins.

More importantly, the accumulated HP limit in the Life Pool had reached 9,600 points. This was all thanks to those C4 explosives at Xi City High School and the results of sweeping the Tianba Squad's base.

The accumulated durability for vehicles had also reached over 30,000 points, even after he had added 10,000 durability points to each of his two all-terrain motorcycles.

“Come on, my little babies, let's start the upgrade!”

With a tap of Li Xiao's finger on the virtual panel, 10,000 Steel, 10,000 Fuel, 4,000 Rare Ore, and 1,200 Star Coins vanished.

Three days later, the Level 6 base was completed. The territory expanded to 8,000 square meters, and the Command Center's HP upgraded to 500,000 points. Based on C4 damage calculations, it would take at least 40 charges to blow up the Command Center.

However, aside from these, the Level 6 base didn't bring Li Xiao any substantial improvements. Thus, Li Xiao purchased 2,000 Star Coins' worth of resources, scraped together 30,000 Steel, 30,000 Fuel, 7,000 Rare Ore, and 4,000 Star Coins, and pushed all the way to a Level 7 base in one go!

The Level 7 base was completed a week later. The 10,000-square-meter base was finally starting to take shape.

Aside from the increased durability of various buildings, the biggest benefit was that the Military Factory had finally produced a new vehicle and new equipment.

The new vehicle was the fierce tiger h9 military off-road vehicle, measuring 5.4 meters long, 2.2 meters wide, and 1.9 meters high.

This military off-road vehicle was equipped with four explosion-proof run-flat tires, bulletproof windows and doors, and reinforced steel plates added to the front, back, and bottom of the vehicle.

The top of the vehicle featured a rotating firing platform, allowing a machine gunner to mount a squad automatic weapon or a heavy machine gun.

The fierce tiger h9 could carry five soldiers, reach a top speed of 110 kilometers per hour, and had a durability as high as 10,000 points.

What did 10,000 points mean? A QBZ19 dealt about 60 to 70 damage to an ordinary off-road vehicle, which could basically be blown up with one or two magazines.

Against a Fierce Tiger, the damage would definitely be lower. Calculating at a minimum of 50 points, it would take seven magazines to blow it up.

This was equivalent to the vehicle sitting there and letting seven people empty their rifle magazines into it just to wreck it.

Naturally, its performance far exceeded the off-road vehicles and vans hijacked on the road, and its construction cost was equally impressive.

1,500 Steel, 1,000 Fuel, 200 Star Coins, and a 24-hour build time.

When Li Xiao saw the Fierce Tiger's attributes, he was practically envious. If he had ten of these, each mounted with light and heavy machine guns, and then gave them twenty or thirty thousand durability, it would be absolutely wonderful.

The equipment updated at the same time was a defensive weapon. When Li Xiao saw this thing, he felt both happy and distressed.

Anti-Personnel Mine: A portable individual anti-personnel weapon with a kill radius of three meters and a maximum damage of 250 points.

Li Xiao's biggest headache right now was the base's defense; the unit refresh rate was too slow.

Up until now, his total military strength was less than sixty men, yet the base had already reached 10,000 square meters. The defensive pressure was truly immense.

Every time he went out to farm, he was on edge, fearing that his home would be raided if he wasn't careful.

Now that this Anti-Personnel Mine had appeared, it gave him a much more manageable way to set up defenses around the base's perimeter.

He could produce them in large quantities and then deploy them around the base.

But everything had two sides. If he could set mines, so could the enemy. This brought a lot of uncertainty to future battles.

The manufacturing cost of the Anti-Personnel Mine was quite cheap: 30 Steel, 20 Rare Ore, and 5 Star Coins, with a manufacturing time of only three hours.

The only downside was the low damage. It was fine for dealing with newly enlisted Recruits and Privates of the first, second, or third class, but it wouldn't be fatal in one hit to a Private First Class.

Even though the Fierce Tiger off-road vehicle was expensive, Li Xiao had to build it. Because more and more players were reaching Level 5 bases, a large number of all-terrain vehicles had begun to appear in the Trading Center.

With that came a significant increase in players' mobility. Combat in the future would be considerably more difficult, and he urgently needed a vehicle with higher speed and stronger protection.

Li Xiao bought over 2,000 Star Coins' worth of resources and queued up the construction of five fierce tiger military off-road vehicles at once. As for the Anti-Personnel Mines, he would definitely manufacture them like crazy; it would be best if he could fill a five-kilometer radius around the base with them.

In his spare time, Li Xiao also took stock of his unit composition. As of now, he had 35 Infantry commanded by Di Yun and Yang Chao, 6 Engineers led by Ye Ming and Jiang Lang, and 5 Scouts commanded by Zhao Feipeng.

Additionally, there were 4 Signalmen led by Li Le, and 3 Cooks, including Du Ziteng.

Support units included 3 machine gunners like Leng He, and 2 Snipers, including Yan Yizhou, for a total military strength of 58 men!

This small amount of troops was what remained after not fighting much for over a week. If he encountered a Major battle, he probably wouldn't even have this many left.

Of course, while his troop count was low, in terms of individual HP, they were equivalent to a force of five hundred people.

During this time, Yun Dongliu and Liu Nian had also developed well. After Nie Ba and his son died, the Tianba Squad disbanded. Yun Dongliu took the opportunity to occupy two small towns near the Tianba Squad's base.

Liu Nian continued to expand northward, but further north lay mountainous terrain where only the highway cut through the mountains; resource zones in the vicinity were very scarce.

Over the past few days, Li Xiao had also been frequently monitoring the National Channel. It was evident that a large number of players were dying in conflicts every day. Those who survived gained more space for development, while those who died... no one knew where they went.

Hanhai Star was vast. Even with two billion players spread across it, the base distribution wasn't exaggeratedly dense, yet it was still enough to plunge many players into war.

It was conceivable that desire would always be one of the fundamental traits of humanity. Especially Li Xiao, who had tasted the flavor of victory, even began to crave battle.

Once midnight passed and a new day arrived, Li Xiao collected three new Recruitment Orders from the base information panel.

Nowadays, he used Recruitment Orders by opening them in bulk, unlike before when he was filled with anticipation.

This time, however, two new unit types appeared.

The Medic was likely a new support unit unlocked by the Level 7 base, possessing battlefield first-aid capabilities and starting with 200 HP.

Medics could use bandages, painkillers, medical kits, and other medical equipment and supplies to restore the HP of wounded soldiers in a short time.

However, the recovery speed and amount depended on the Medic's rank and ability rating.

The second new unit was the long-awaited Army Infantry Instructor. This military instructor named Long Ming held the rank of Major right away and could train all infantry combat professions in the Army.

However, Long Ming's information displayed a detail that left Li Xiao very puzzled: this Major fellow actually refused to leave the base for combat, participating only in teaching tasks and base defense battles.

“Damn it, the system is too much of a dog, isn't it? It gave me a Major instructor but won't let me take him out!”

Li Xiao really couldn't help but complain, but what could he do? If he forcibly tied him up and took him out, his loyalty would surely plummet.
