89: Finals (please add)

Li Xiao checked his information panel. This vehicle did not support durability bonuses. Thinking about it carefully, this made sense; once the confrontation ended, all weapons and equipment would disappear, so naturally, there would be no ownership of equipment, and it would be impossible to add health points to it.

With a vehicle, Li Xiao no longer had to worry about travel. He stayed in the car until the third round of the Death Zone refreshed before starting the engine and heading straight for the circle.

However, as soon as his car hit the road, it was immediately targeted by gunfire from a distance. Looking through the rearview mirror, he quickly discovered a Black Hawk Patrol pursuing him not far behind.

Li Xiao had no choice but to floor the accelerator. However, the remaining map area was only two kilometers wide; to the north was mountainous terrain, to the south was the Wheat Field, and along the central road were rows of houses. He basically had nowhere left to shake off the patrol.

With no other options, Li Xiao drove directly into the central housing area. But before he could even slow down, dense gunfire erupted from the roadside. Listening to the sound, it was actually a squad light machine gun.

The hail of bullets struck the front of the car, sending sparks flying, and the durability dropped rapidly. In his panic, Li Xiao veered off the road, crashing head-on into the wall of an unfinished building that lacked a roof.

Because of the high speed, the vehicle lost 1,000 durability points upon impact. Fearing an explosion, Li Xiao quickly exited the vehicle and ducked into the unfinished building.

At this moment, the Black Hawk Patrol arrived, but they immediately engaged in a firefight with the machine gunner at the intersection. The result was inevitable; after killing two patrol members who had jumped from their vehicle, the guy was killed by the other members.

Strangely, after taking care of that person, the remaining three patrol members simply drove away.

Now, it seemed he was the only one in the houses on either side, which was as good as it could get.

Over the next two hours, the gunfire around him became increasingly intense. The two rounds of the shrinking safety circle did not leave this housing area and remained largely near the center point.

Of course, the downside was that players were constantly driving vehicles, trying to reach this housing area, but many others had the same idea.

These people hunted each other, which in turn attracted large groups of Black Hawk Patrol. Within just half an hour, the road outside the housing area was littered with corpses and vehicles.

When the sixth round of the Death Zone refreshed, the safe area was reduced to less than the size of a soccer field, with half occupied by the housing area and the other half by the rolling Wheat Field outside.

Strangely, at this point, the Black Hawk Patrol had disappeared, which was equivalent to the system giving the arena to the remaining twenty or so people.

Li Xiao remained in the corner of the second floor of the unfinished building; since he was still in the safe zone, there was no need to expose his position.

Perhaps everyone was thinking the same thing, so for the entire hour of the sixth round, not a single shot was fired.

When the seventh round of the Death Zone refreshed, Li Xiao's luck ran out; the safe zone moved directly to the Wheat Field.

This meant that everyone staying in the housing area had to move to the Wheat Field, and a battle was imminent.

Li Xiao had just finished a can of energy drink when he suddenly heard footsteps downstairs. He hurriedly grabbed his sniper rifle and quietly moved to the stairwell.

Perhaps the survivor downstairs was also worried about being exposed, as they went silent after reaching the ground floor.

At this time, there were still a few minutes before the edge of the Death Zone would move. Suddenly, the sound of an engine roared in front of the house facing the Wheat Field; it seemed someone wanted to use a vehicle to enter the Wheat Field area.

However, before the vehicle could even accelerate, two rifles from the surroundings fired simultaneously, instantly blowing up the vehicle and reducing the total number of survivors to sixteen.

A few minutes later, Li Xiao watched as the boundary of the Death Zone began to move forward, and the player downstairs also began to move.

Li Xiao, however, unhurriedly injected himself with an adrenaline shot. A few seconds later, the boundary passed through his body and pushed forward. A stinging pain, like ant bites, washed over him, and Li Xiao realized his health was decreasing at a rate of twenty points per second.

Seeing this damage value, Li Xiao suddenly smiled. He had thought that as it went on, his health might drop by tens or hundreds, in which case he might not be able to last an hour even if he were in the safe zone.

The adrenaline could only restore five health points per second, which couldn't keep up with the consumption. So, Li Xiao began to frantically apply bandages; to be safe, he didn't want to waste health points easily.

Just as Li Xiao decided to endure the toxic zone, the boundary forced all the players in the housing area out; their maximum health of five hundred points couldn't withstand such damage.

However, in such a narrow area, they had no choice but to fight it out. In an instant, a fierce firefight erupted both inside and outside the housing area.

The entire process lasted only about a minute, and only seven people remained on the field.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Li Xiao quietly walked out of the unfinished building.

The road was littered with too many corpses. Li Xiao collected supplies as he walked. By now, everyone's backpacks were full of supplies. After casually searching a few bags, he obtained over a dozen energy drinks, and even two flashbangs and two grenades.

Two minutes later, he crossed the chaotic road and arrived at a low-lying area on the edge of the safe zone.

At this moment, the safe zone was no more than fifty meters in diameter. He observed carefully and could barely see the figures of the other six people, but he believed some were definitely behind two or three haystacks in the Wheat Field, or inside the cargo bed of a pickup truck in the middle.

In this situation, almost no one was willing to expose their position first. It was shortly after noon, and the scorching sun made Li Xiao unbearably thirsty.

Checking the time, there was still half an hour until the eighth round of the Death Zone refreshed, so he simply lay on the ground and leisurely drank an energy drink.

His mood was relaxed and pleasant, but he guessed it was probably the most agonizing moment of the other six people's lives.

Ten minutes later, seeing that no one had made a move, Li Xiao simply stood up, cradled his rifle, and walked slowly toward the center point.

This scene left the few players hiding nearby dumbfounded, and the dumbest of them all was the person in the pickup truck; that guy was actually lying in the cargo bed of the pickup truck.

Watching Li Xiao get closer and closer, he groaned in misery, muttering to himself, Big brother, don't come over, please don't come over...

Perhaps his prayers had some effect, as Li Xiao actually stopped a few meters away from the pickup truck.

In fact, Li Xiao knew there was someone in the pickup truck, but he didn't want to make a move yet. He took another sip of his drink right in front of everyone.

Then he said loudly, Everyone here, I have a suggestion. Since it's come to this, and we're going to die sooner or later anyway, why don't we all throw away our weapons and backpacks and come out for a fistfight?

Li Xiao's words received no response from anyone. Slightly embarrassed, he had to say, Then don't blame me for being impolite.

Saying this, Li Xiao pulled a flashbang from his backpack, then, without warning, suddenly turned and threw it into the pickup truck.

Bang!

Ah!

With a scream, the player lying in the pickup truck jumped up, covering his eyes with one hand while firing wildly in Li Xiao's direction with the other.

Li Xiao didn't dodge or evade; he took two stray bullets, raised his gun, and emptied a magazine directly into the opponent.

In that single second, nearly ten bullets pierced the opponent's body, and blood dripped down the side of the car onto the tires.
