115: Chapter 115 Wait for me obediently
Wang Yang took it out of his pocket to look.
Secretary General Cao Yun.
He answered the phone,
while his other hand was still around Qin Xiaoran's waist.
Qin Xiaoran wanted to get up from his lap, but he held her down.
He patted her bottom, signaling her not to move.
Qin Xiaoran bit her lip and sat obediently, not daring to make a sound.
"Uncle Cao."
Secretary General Cao Yun's hearty laughter came from the other end of the line.
"Yang, are you busy?"
Wang Yang leaned back in his chair, his fingers gently tracing circles on Qin Xiaoran's waist.
"Not busy. Uncle Cao, what's up?"
Secretary General Cao Yun said with a smile.
"Are you free tonight? Let's have dinner together. It's been a while since we've chatted."
Wang Yang smiled.
"Sure. Uncle Cao, you pick the place, and I'll head over."
Secretary General Cao Yun mentioned the name of a restaurant and asked a few questions about his recent situation, which Wang Yang answered one by one.
The two chatted for a bit before hanging up.
Qin Xiaoran sat on his lap, listening to him on the phone, not daring to even breathe loudly.
His fingers were tracing circles on her waist, tickling her; she bit her lip to endure it, her face turning redder and redder.
Wang Yang put his phone away and looked down at her.
"I have to go out tonight."
Qin Xiaoran looked up at him.
"Oh..."
There was an unmistakable sense of disappointment in her voice.
Wang Yang smiled and reached out to pinch her cheek.
"Wait for me to come back. Take a shower and wait for me in bed."
Qin Xiaoran's face instantly turned bright red, and she buried her face in his neck, not daring to look at him.
Wang Yang patted her back gently, as if coaxing a child.
After a while, Qin Xiaoran looked up at him.
"Then... come back early."
Wang Yang nodded.
Qin Xiaoran bit her lip, leaned in, and gave him a kiss on the lips.
This time it lasted longer than before, staying for several seconds.
She pulled back, her face flushed and her eyes bright.
Wang Yang smiled, lifted her off his lap, and stood up.
"I'm off."
Qin Xiaoran followed behind him and saw him to the door.
The rolling shutter door opened, and sunlight flooded in, making her squint her eyes.
That black bmw x5m was still parked by the roadside.
The matte black body shimmered with a cold luster in the sunlight, like a dormant beast.
Wang Yang opened the car door, sat inside, and started the engine.
The roar of the engine was low and thick, like the low growl of a beast waking up.
He rolled down the window and waved at her.
Qin Xiaoran stood at the door and waved back at him.
The bmw x5m drove off, its black body merging into the traffic, getting further and further away until it finally disappeared around the street corner.
Qin Xiaoran stood at the door, looking in the direction where the car had disappeared, her heart rate still hadn't settled.
She raised her hand and touched her lips, where his warmth still lingered.
She thought of how he had kissed her just now, and how his hand had wandered around her waist.
She thought of him saying, "Wait for me to come back."
Her face turned red again, her heart beating so fast it felt like it would jump out of her throat.
Qin Xiaoran turned and walked back into the shop, pulled down the rolling shutter door, leaned against it, and clutched her chest.
The shop was very quiet, with only the sound of her heartbeat—thump, thump, thump.
Qin Xiaoran pressed her phone against her chest and closed her eyes.
She thought of the way he looked at her, of him saying "you're not a child anymore," and of his smile as he turned to leave.
Qin Xiaoran took a deep breath and opened her eyes, the smile on the corners of her mouth impossible to suppress.
She walked behind the counter, picked up the barber's cape, folded it, and put the scissors and comb into the drawer.
She opened her phone and clicked on his Moments, scrolling from beginning to end.
There wasn't much content, just a few photos of cars and a picture of his back by the river.
She stared at that back for a long time, zooming in on the photo, then out, then in again.
She put down her phone and rested her chin on her hands, looking at the empty barber chair opposite her.
The cape he had used was still draped over the chair; she reached out, took it, folded it, and placed it on her lap.
The cape had a faint scent of shampoo, the same as the scent on Wang Yang's hair.
She pressed the cape against her face and closed her eyes.
Qin Xiaoran, you're done for.
She said to herself in her heart.
But she didn't want to escape at all.
She didn't know why she felt such a strong liking for Wang Yang the first time she saw him.
...
At 5:30 PM, the sky began to darken, and the city lights lit up one by one.
The black bmw x5m drove into a high-end residential complex.
The entrance had heavy bronze gates, with black marble walls on either side, looking very grand.
The security guard wore a deep blue uniform and stood straight.
Seeing this car, his gaze lingered on the license plate for a second, and then he bowed and saluted.
The barrier rose, and Wang Yang rolled down the window and gave his name.
The guard's attitude immediately became respectful, and he stepped aside and made a gesture of invitation.
"Mr. Wang, Secretary-General Cao has already given instructions. Please come in."
Wang Yang nodded, the window went up, and the car slowly drove in.
The complex was very quiet, with landscaping like a park; a few Wintersweet flowers had bloomed, bright yellow, and a faint fragrance drifted in the air.
He parked the car under a building and took out two boxes of gifts, a box of cigarettes, and a box of fruit from the trunk, carrying them in his hands.
The cigarettes were top-tier, cigarette brand.
The liquor was top-tier, Moutai.
The fruits were imported, cherries and Shine Muscat.
These things cost him nearly twenty thousand yuan, but to Secretary General Cao Yun, it was negligible.
But the proper etiquette could not be lacking; the favorability given by the system was one thing, but social etiquette was another.
Besides, he wasn't short of this bit of money now.
Wang Yang walked into the building entrance; the elevator was one of those transparent sightseeing ones, and as it rose slowly,
he could see the lights in the garden below lighting up one by one.
Reaching the floor, the elevator doors opened; the hallway was covered with thick carpet, and a few pieces of calligraphy and paintings hung on the walls, making it very quiet.
Wang Yang walked to the door and knocked.
A voice came from inside, very pleasant, young, and with a bit of softness.
"Coming, coming."
The door opened.
A girl stood at the door, looking to be in her early twenties.
She wore a cream-colored loose sweater with a perfectly cut neckline, revealing a section of delicate collarbone.
Below were light blue jeans and a pair of plush slippers on her feet.
Her hair was loose, long, black, and straight; she wore light makeup, and her eyebrows were finely groomed.
Her lips were coated with a thin layer of lip glaze, making them look shiny.
Her features were very delicate, with large eyes, a pert nose, and a pointed chin.
Her skin was fair and translucent, like a peeled egg.
Wang Yang's gaze landed on her face and stayed for a second.
She was also looking at him, her eyes blinking, her eyelashes very long.
Feeling a bit embarrassed by his gaze, her face turned slightly red.
Her fingers gripped the doorknob, and she lightly bit her lip.
"Hello... May I ask who you are?"
Wang Yang smiled.
"I'm a friend of Uncle Cao's. He invited me over for dinner."
The girl was stunned for a moment, then turned back and shouted into the house.
"Godfather! Your friend is here!"
Secretary General Cao Yun's voice came from inside.
"He's here? Quickly, let him in!"
The girl stepped aside, making way.
"Please come in."
Wang Yang walked in carrying the items.
The entryway was very spacious, and a pot of pothos was placed on the shoe cabinet, looking very vibrant.
