186: Chapter 186 The food you feed me tastes better than what I eat myself.

"It's sweet."

The Waitress stood nearby, holding up her phone and snapping several photos in quick succession.

"Amazing! You two look absolutely stunning! This one is the best; the lighting is perfect, and the expressions in your eyes are incredible!"

She looked down, scrolling through the photos with a face full of excitement.

Wang Yang turned his head to look at her.

"Could you send us a copy of the photos?"

The Waitress nodded repeatedly.

"Of course! Sir, please add our store's WeChat, and I'll send you the original files in a moment."

She took out her work phone and displayed the QR code.

Wang Yang scanned the code to add her on WeChat, then put his phone away.

"Sorry for the trouble."

"No trouble at all! Please wait a moment, your dishes will be here shortly."

The Waitress smiled and stepped back, but after walking a few steps, she looked back, her eyes filled with envy.

Ye Xueying was still frozen there, her hand gripping the hem of her skirt, her whole body like a statue.

The warmth of his lips still lingered on hers, leaving a tingling sensation.

Her heart was beating so fast it felt like it might jump out of her throat, and her mind was a complete blank.

After quite a while, she slowly came back to her senses.

She raised her head and looked at Wang Yang, her eyes slightly red—not from wanting to cry, but from embarrassment.

"You, how could you… We agreed on a kiss on the cheek, right? Why, why did you, why did you kiss my lips?"

Her voice was stuttering, laced with trembling, grievance, and an indescribable fluttering in her heart.

Wang Yang leaned back in his seat, watching her with a gaze that held both amusement and sincerity.

"I did intend to kiss your cheek."

Ye Xueying bit her lip.

"Then why…"

Wang Yang reached out and gently took the hand she had resting on the table.

"I couldn't help myself."

Ye Xueying was stunned.

Wang Yang looked at her, his voice lowered, carrying a certainty that made her heart race.

"You look too beautiful today. I've been holding back since we got in the car, and I held back at the Cinema too. But just now, seeing you with your eyes closed, I really couldn't stop myself. You were just too tempting."

Ye Xueying's nose felt sore, and her eyes turned red.

She lowered her head, watching his hand cover the back of hers—it was large and warm.

Her heart was still racing, but that panic slowly transformed into a sweetness that welled up from the bottom of her heart, spreading everywhere.

"You, you're coaxing me again."

Her voice came out muffled from beneath her bowed head.

Wang Yang smiled, his fingers gently stroking the back of her hand.

"I'm not coaxing you. It's the truth."

Ye Xueying didn't pull her hand away, nor did she speak.

She just kept her head down, her face blushing as if it were on fire, spreading from her cheeks to her ears, and from her ears down to her neck.

The corners of her mouth were turned up, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't suppress the smile.

Wang Yang looked at Ye Xueying's appearance and laughed.

This girl, she turns this red just from a kiss on the lips.

If they did anything else in the future, who knows how red she would get.

The dishes were served quickly.

The black pepper steak spaghetti was steaming hot.

The steak was sliced into even pieces and spread over the pasta, with black pepper sauce drizzled around it.

It was garnished with a few broccoli florets and a cherry tomato cut in half.

The pan-seared cod was golden, the skin crispy, the meat tender and white, served with a small dish of lemon butter sauce.

The Caesar salad was served in a wooden bowl, with vibrant green lettuce, golden brown croutons, and thin shavings of Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top.

The Tiramisu was served in a small, transparent glass cup.

It had a thick layer of cocoa powder on top, and fine water droplets condensed on the sides of the glass.

Ye Xueying looked at the table full of food, her eyes lighting up, but her face remained flushed.

She hadn't yet processed that kiss just now, and she didn't even dare to look at Wang Yang.

Her fingers twisted the hem of her skirt under the table, her heart still racing.

He had kissed her lips, not her cheek—it was her lips.

And he said she was too beautiful, that he couldn't help himself.

Ye Xueying secretly bit her lip; the warmth of his lips seemed to still linger there.

Wang Yang picked up a fork, twirled a portion of spaghetti, and put it in his mouth to chew.

"Hmm, it really tastes good. Your best friend didn't lie to you."

Ye Xueying gave a soft "oh" and picked up her own fork, keeping her head down as she ate in small bites.

Her movements were very refined, twirling a small amount of spaghetti and bringing it to her lips.

She pursed her lips gently, making no sound at all.

Wang Yang watched her.

"Why do you eat like a cat? With such small bites, when will you ever get full?"

Ye Xueying looked up, a bit of black pepper sauce smudged on the corner of her mouth.

"I, I usually eat this slowly."

Wang Yang smiled, reached out to pull a tissue, and extended his hand toward her.

Before Ye Xueying could react, his fingers, with the tissue in between, had already touched the corner of her mouth.

He wiped it gently.

Her body stiffened, and she remained motionless, staring at him with wide eyes.

The tissue paused at the corner of her mouth for two seconds, then he pulled it away.

"You got some sauce on you."

Ye Xueying's face turned bright red instantly.

"You, you could have just told me. I would have wiped it myself."

Her voice was shy and flustered, and she hurriedly grabbed a napkin to wipe the corner of her mouth again.

In reality, it was already clean.

Wang Yang put the tissue down, a smile playing on his lips.

"Isn't it the same if I wipe it?"

Ye Xueying bit her lip, unable to speak.

What did he mean by the same? It was completely different.

When he wiped it, her heart almost stopped.

She buried her head lower, poking at the spaghetti with her fork, unable to twirl any up for a long time.

Wang Yang cut a piece of cod, speared it with his fork, and held it to her lips.

"Try this. The cod is seared well."

Ye Xueying looked at the golden piece of fish in front of her, then looked at him.

His gaze was very natural, as if feeding her was a perfectly normal thing to do.

"I, I'll do it myself."

Wang Yang didn't pull his hand back; the fork remained held near her lips.

"Open your mouth."

Ye Xueying bit her lip and hesitated for two seconds, then slowly opened her mouth and took the piece of cod.

The fish was very tender, the skin crispy, and the tangy aroma of the lemon butter sauce melted on her tongue.

The corners of her mouth turned up.

"Is it good?"

Ye Xueying nodded.

"It's good."

Wang Yang smiled, cut another piece, and held it out.

This time, Ye Xueying didn't hesitate; she opened her mouth to take it, chewed a couple of times, and her eyes crinkled.

Wang Yang watched her satisfied look, feeling a tickle in his heart.

When this girl ate, she was like a little kitten being fed—incredibly well-behaved.

Ye Xueying swallowed the cod and looked up at him.

"Brother Wang, why aren't you eating? You've only been feeding me."

Wang Yang smiled.

"Watching you eat is more interesting than eating myself."

Ye Xueying's face flushed red again; she picked up her fork, twirled a portion of spaghetti, and held it to his lips.

"Then, you eat too. Don't just watch me."

Wang Yang opened his mouth and took it, chewing a couple of times.

"Hmm, what you feed me tastes better than what I eat myself."

Ye Xueying glared at him, but the look had zero lethality; it was watery and soft.

"You're talking nonsense again."

Wang Yang laughed.

"I'm not talking nonsense. It's the truth. If you don't believe me, try feeding me another bite."

Ye Xueying bit her lip, twirled another portion of spaghetti, and held it out.

Wang Yang took it, chewed, and nodded.

"It really is delicious. From now on, you have to feed me every meal, otherwise I won't be able to get full."

Ye Xueying's face was red enough to bleed.

"You, you're dreaming. I'm not feeding you."

Even though she said that, the corners of her mouth were turned up, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't suppress the smile.
