185: Chapter 185 Couples' Restaurant, Kissing Event

Wang Yang scanned the dining hall.

In a booth by the window sat a man and a woman; the woman rested her chin on her hand, smiling as she listened to the man speak.

At a round table in the corner sat two girls.

One had short hair, the other long hair; the one with short hair was using a fork to feed cake to the one with long hair.

Diagonally opposite sat a pair of boys, both wearing hoodies, heads bowed as they each looked at their phones.

But their knees were gently touching under the table.

Wang Yang withdrew his gaze, the smile on his lips deepening.

Ye Xueying followed beside him, looking around with bright eyes.

"The decor here is so pretty, it has such a great atmosphere."

She hadn't noticed anything amiss at all.

A Waitress wearing a white shirt and black apron came up to greet them.

She was a girl in her early twenties, wearing a ponytail, with a sweet smile on her face.

"Welcome. Is it just the two of you?"

Wang Yang nodded.

"Yes, two."

The Waitress's gaze swept over the two of them, and her eyes brightened.

"This way, please."

She led them inside, walking through a short corridor, and stopped at a booth near the back of the hall.

It was a great spot by the window, where sunlight filtered through frosted glass, becoming much softer.

It fell onto the dark brown wooden tabletop.

The seating was semi-enclosed, with high backrests blocking both sides, creating a small, private space.

The two sat down, and the Waitress handed over the menus—two copies, one for each.

"Take a look at the menu, and call me whenever you're ready."

She smiled and stepped away.

Ye Xueying opened the menu, her eyes scanning the pages.

"Wow, this steak looks so delicious. This pasta is also good. Brother Wang, what do you want to eat?"

Wang Yang leaned back in his seat, watching her with a smile on his lips.

"Ye Xueying."

"Hmm?"

Ye Xueying looked up, meeting his gaze.

Wang Yang's voice was low, carrying a hint of playfulness.

"Do you know what kind of restaurant this is?"

Ye Xueying blinked, looking confused.

"What kind? Isn't it just a place to eat?"

She looked around, her gaze sweeping over the pair of girls at the neighboring table feeding each other.

It swept past the boys in the corner with their knees touching, the heart-shaped decorations on the wall, and the heart-shaped candle holder on the table.

Her expression slowly changed, and her eyes widened.

"Th-this is..."

Wang Yang laughed without speaking, picked up his water glass, and took a sip.

Ye Xueying's face slowly turned red.

"I—I didn't know. Xiaoya didn't tell me. She just said the food here was good."

Her voice became quieter and quieter; her fingers gently rubbed against the menu, and her eyes darted around, not daring to land on Wang Yang's face.

Watching her flustered appearance, Wang Yang was thoroughly amused.

"It's fine. Since we're already here, let's order."

Ye Xueying bit her lip, burying her face in the menu, not daring to look at him.

Her heart was beating so fast it felt like it was about to jump out of her throat.

A couple's restaurant.

She had actually brought Wang Yang to a couple's restaurant.

Would he think she did it on purpose?

She really didn't do it on purpose.

Wait, did she really not do it on purpose?

She couldn't even tell herself.

Wang Yang opened the menu, his gaze scanning the dishes.

"What do you want to eat?"

Ye Xueying revealed half her face from behind the menu, her eyes watery.

"I—I want to eat that black pepper steak pasta. And that tiramisu."

Wang Yang nodded, flipped through it again, and added a few more dishes.

"Let's also get an order of pan-fried cod, a Caesar salad, and two glasses of lemonade."

He pressed the call button on the table, and the Waitress quickly came over—it was the same girl with the ponytail from before.

"Sir, Miss, have you made your choice?"

Wang Yang handed her the menu and recited the dishes.

The Waitress noted them down one by one, took the menu, but didn't leave immediately.

She stood by the table, looking at the two of them with a meaningful smile on her lips.

"Excuse me, are you two a couple?"

Ye Xueying's hand trembled, and she almost knocked over her water glass.

She opened her mouth, not knowing what to say, her face blushing as if it were about to catch fire.

Wang Yang leaned back in his seat with a smile on his lips.

"Yes. Why?"

The Waitress's eyes lit up.

"It's like this, our shop happens to have an event today. If couples dine here and take a photo of themselves kissing to leave in our shop, they can enjoy a fifty percent discount."

She paused, her gaze sweeping across both their faces.

"Both of you are so attractive; the photo will definitely turn out great. Our shop has a photo wall specifically for guest pictures, and if we put yours up, it will definitely attract many customers."

Ye Xueying's face was red as blood, her fingers twisting her skirt under the table, twisting and then releasing, releasing and then twisting again.

"K-kissing."

Her voice was so small it was almost inaudible.

The Waitress smiled and nodded.

"Yes, as long as it's a kiss, that's fine. Kissing the cheek is also okay."

She looked at the two of them, her eyes full of anticipation.

Ye Xueying stole a glance at Wang Yang; he was leaning back in his seat, smiling, and looking at her as well.

His gaze held playfulness, anticipation, and a trace of something hot and undefinable.

She hurriedly looked away, her heart beating like a drum.

"I, I..."

Wang Yang watched her in this state and spoke up.

"Fine. Let's do it."

Ye Xueying suddenly looked up, staring at him with wide eyes.

"Brother Wang."

Wang Yang turned his head to look at her, a smile on his lips.

"What's wrong? It's fifty percent off. We can use the money we save to buy you milk tea."

Ye Xueying bit her lip, unable to speak.

The Waitress was so happy she almost jumped up, taking her phone out from her apron pocket.

"Great! Are you two ready?"

Wang Yang turned to face Ye Xueying.

The distance between them suddenly closed, so close that she could smell that familiar scent on him.

Ye Xueying's heart was beating so fast it felt like it was about to jump out of her throat; her hands were clutching her skirt under the table, her knuckles turning white.

She looked at Wang Yang, his face coming closer and closer.

She could see the curve of his eyelashes and the faint light in his eyes.

His breath brushed against her face, warm and ticklish.

Ye Xueying closed her eyes.

She was waiting for him to kiss her cheek.

Wang Yang watched her with her eyes closed, her eyelashes trembling slightly, her face as red as a ripe apple.

Her lips were slightly pursed, the peach-colored lip gloss shimmering and moist under the candlelight.

He had indeed originally intended to kiss her cheek.

But at this moment, looking at her like this, he changed his mind.

Wang Yang tilted his head and kissed her lips.

Ye Xueying's mind exploded with a buzz.

She could feel the temperature of his lips—soft, warm, and carrying the refreshing sweetness of lemonade.

Not the cheek.

It was her lips.

He had kissed her lips.

Her eyes snapped open, meeting his eyes just inches away.

Those eyes held amusement, heat, and a sense of satisfied triumph.

Ye Xueying froze there, completely still, even forgetting to breathe.

Wang Yang's lips lingered on hers for a few seconds before slowly pulling away.

The tip of his tongue gently licked his own lips.
