3: Set out on an unknown journey

“Dungeon & Fighter?”

Out of professional habit, Yu Waner quickly searched for and downloaded the game on the platform.

Her curiosity drove her to want to understand what this 1GB-sized work was like.

With her computer's high-end configuration, all preparation work was completed almost instantly.

Upon entering the account interface, light and dynamic background music immediately played, titled “Warrior Free as the Wind.”

Such thoughtful design made Yu Waner, who usually wasn't keen on these types of mini-games, feel a surprising delight.

Then a sentence appeared on the screen — [Chapter 1: Embarking on an Unknown Journey]

As the story gradually unfolded, Yu Waner couldn't help but be stunned when faced with the character selection interface.

The characters' graphics were very primitive and rough, as if pixelated.

After all, she usually immersed herself in the world of top-tier blockbusters, and these thick lines were somewhat difficult for her to accept.

But since it was already installed, she might as well try it first.

Actually, the overall visual effect wasn't unbearable.

Among the six options, the most appealing character was undoubtedly the domineering Swordsman, the Soul Bender!

After impatiently skipping the tutorial, Yu Waner officially embarked on her journey, and a forest came into view, the location being the Land of Lohn.

As soon as the map appeared, a specific melody echoed in her ears, accompanied by the appearance of several small but extremely ferocious Goblins.

The stirring music combined with the tense and exciting atmosphere actually made Yu Waner sit up straight and seriously deal with every attack.

“Ah! Oh no!”

Without paying attention to defense, the Goblin easily wounded the protagonist, causing her health to plummet.

After quickly checking the key prompts, she swiftly cast a skill, successfully counterattacking her opponent and knocking it back.

“Hmm… the feel isn't bad.”

Although the image processing was retro and simple, the operational feel and sound effects were still impressive.

After learning a few basic movements, she took her weapon and rushed to the front line again to fight monsters, gradually mastering the entire process.

“Take my second wave of attack!”

......

After spending a lot of time and nearly half of her health bar, she finally arrived before the final boss room.

“Oh my goodness, these little guys do so much damage.”

Although she complained, her heart was already filled with excitement.

“Now, it's time to face the real challenge!”

Controlling her character, she walked into the final area, only to see several ordinary monsters and a specially designed Goblin girl, Celia, with unique abilities, imprisoned in an iron cage.

“Brave human, please save me from this predicament!”

“Wow! An Elf girl!”

Yu Waner was already incredibly excited, and now this hero-saving-the-beauty plot piqued her interest even further. Her fingers flew across the keyboard, a rapid clatter of keys filling the air.

Yu Waner felt that this stone-throwing Goblin was no different from other Goblins, so she directly sent her Ghost Swordsman forward to unleash a Ghost Slash.

However, before her character could get close, she was wiped out by a barrage of stones thrown by the Goblin.

“Ah? That's too strong!”

Looking at the game over screen and the Elf girl trapped in the cage, Yu Waner said with dissatisfaction.

Just as she was feeling frustrated, she suddenly discovered that there were ten Revive Coins.

She quickly used one, and her character instantly revived.

“This game is too thoughtful, you can even revive for free.”

After her surprise, she quickly controlled her Ghost Swordsman to retreat from the throwing Goblin's attack range.

It turned out she had underestimated her opponent. Since this was a BOSS-level enemy, she had to be more careful.

Actually, Yu Waner's gaming skills were quite good.

First, she used various skills to clear out some small monsters, and then by constantly moving, she lured the throwing Goblin to unleash its stone attacks.

Once she found an opening, she immediately launched a fierce attack on it.

Even if the single damage was not high, after sustained output, the throwing Goblin's health visibly decreased.

After repeatedly performing these actions, Yu Waner's operations became more natural and fluid.

Finally, with a perfectly coordinated series of strikes, the annoying Goblin fell, dropping several items and equipment.

“Wow! Equipment dropped!”

Although she didn't know the purpose of these items, she put them all into her backpack.

For Yu Waner, these were symbols of victory!

She opened her backpack and saw that, apart from the old wooden stick in her hand, all other equipment slots were empty.

Suddenly, she discovered a newly added weapon: a Sharp Longsword.

“Greatsword, usable by Ghost Swordsman...”

After carefully reading the equipment description, she hadn't expected to be so lucky to get an exclusive good item right at the start of the game.

Replacing the worn-out stick in her hand with the newly acquired sword immediately made her entire character look more imposing!

“This game is so cool!”

Yu Waner, full of joy, was like someone who had discovered a new world.

She successfully completed the mission, rescued Celia, and then returned to the starting point: Elvenguard.

After a simple tutorial from Celia, she learned that the Ghost Swordsman could also learn a wider variety of rich moves.

Browsing through the names of various dazzling skills available for unlock — such as Moonlight Slash, Mountain Crusher, and so on... Yu Waner felt extremely excited.

Her current level had already reached 2, and if she could level up to 10, she would be able to try using these powerful skills!

With a goal, her enthusiasm was further ignited.

She quickly found the next main quest and fully immersed herself in leveling up.

However, at this very moment, discussions about this game were also heating up in a social group she was part of...

“Oh my goodness, this Lightning Goblin is just too abnormal!”

An hour passed, and Yu Waner's character had already reached level 8.

She had initially thought she would quickly advance to higher stages and learn all the skills.

But she hadn't expected the difficulty of the subsequent dungeons to increase sharply, and the new enemies she encountered became increasingly difficult to deal with.

Especially this Goblin that could only cast lightning magic attacks; she had almost used up all her revive items in front of it.

“This won't do, I can't get through this alone. I need to ask Pink Wings for help.”

Because the friend who first recommended this game to everyone was the girl named “Pink Wings” in the group.

She surely knows the strategy, right?

As soon as she logged into the chat tool, she was surprised to find 3954 unread messages?

So many messages!

“Awesome, brother, this game couldn't be more fun, could it?”

“I'm so fed up, choosing this class is just asking to get beaten up...”

“Actually, I think it's alright. Although melee classes test a player's skill, the combat feel is really invigorating!”
