161: Chapter 161 Wine and Meat in Poverty

Xiaoyu slumped on the bed: "I don't want to be some big internet celebrity anymore. It's all my fault for insisting on doing medical aesthetics and becoming a streamer to make big money... I just want to go home now..."

Su Yun walked over and sat down beside her, lowering her voice: "Listen, we must stay calm. Did you notice those room numbers?"

Xiaoyu shook her head blankly.

"Those numbers aren't normal," Su Yun said. "Is it possible that the letters represent the floor and the numbers represent the room?"

"So what?" Xiaoyu asked, confused.

Su Yun's gaze landed on the door in the room: "If we can figure out the layout here, maybe we can find an exit."

Just then, the door suddenly opened. A young man wearing a waiter's uniform pushed a food cart inside.

"Your juice, please drink it as soon as possible," he said politely, though his eyes dared not look directly at the two girls.

Su Yun noticed bruises on his wrists and a faint scar visible beneath the collar of his uniform.

"Thank you." She deliberately walked over to the food cart and pretended to accidentally knock over a cup. "Oh, I'm sorry!"

The waiter hurriedly bent down to clean it up, and Su Yun took the opportunity to whisper quickly in his ear: "Help us! I'm a reporter."

The waiter's movements paused for a moment, a flash of surprise and fear in his eyes. He shook his head imperceptibly and said in a voice almost too quiet to hear: "The metal door password... 4763... but there are people guarding outside..."

"Get out immediately after you're done drinking!" The voice of the woman in the white coat came from outside the door.

The waiter quickly stood up and pushed the food cart away. Su Yun's heart raced—4763.

Half an hour had passed, and just as the woman in the white coat had said, someone came to pick them up. But they still weren't being taken to any streaming room; instead, they were led to another metal door at the end of the corridor.

"Go in," the woman in the white coat ordered.

As the security guard entered the password, Su Yun and Xiaoyu were pushed inside. The door opened.

A rush of even stronger fragrance, laughter, and the sound of clinking glasses hit them...

Su Yun instantly understood what this place was—a private club hidden behind high walls, with a level of luxury comparable to a presidential suite in a five-star hotel.

In the spacious hall, several middle-aged men sat on leather sofas, surrounded by young, beautiful girls. Under the crystal chandelier, a champagne tower reflected a hazy light.

Su Yun's blood ran cold—in a township that needed poverty alleviation, who could have imagined such a place existed! Inside a simple, plain company that used the slogan of live-streaming to help farmers, there was actually such a perverse, decadent place!

She recognized one of them. Liu Fuzhi, the Executive Deputy County Magistrate of Jinhe County, was hugging a girl who looked no older than twenty, holding a wine glass in his hand.

"Are they all here?" Liu Fuzhi looked over with bleary, drunken eyes, his gaze lingering on Su Yun. "This one is not bad. Have the guests already made their selections?"

The woman in the white coat smiled obsequiously: "The leader has a good eye. This one was just picked out today. Her physical exam is perfect, everything is perfect. She's already been in the crystal room."

Su Yun felt a wave of nausea; sure enough, that room she stayed in for half an hour was problematic.

Xiaoyu was trembling behind her: "I... I want to go home..."

"Go home?" The bald man who had organized the drawing laughed loudly. "Little sister, you'll have a new home very soon, hahahaha..."

After saying that, the bald man arranged for security to take Xiaoyu away.

Liu Fuzhi swayed as he stood up and walked toward Su Yun: "Don't be afraid. As long as you are obedient, you will have whatever you want in the future..."

Just as his hand was about to touch Su Yun's face, a piercing alarm suddenly sounded in the club.

"What's going on?" Liu Fuzhi turned his head angrily.

A security guard rushed in: "It's bad! There are police outside!"

The entire club was instantly thrown into chaos. Su Yun seized the opportunity and ran toward the door.

"Stop her!" Liu Fuzhi roared, "Who is so bold on my turf!"

Su Yun had already rushed to the door, but the keypad displayed "Error." The password the waiter gave her was wrong!

Just then, the door was violently kicked open from the outside. Xiao Bei rushed in with the police. There was blood on his face and his shirt was torn, but his eyes were firm.

"Nobody move!"

Su Yun had never heard Xiao Bei's voice sound so beautiful.

Liu Fuzhi's face instantly turned pale: "Xiao... Xiao Bei?"

Xiao Bei sneered: "County Magistrate Liu, catching you in the act is truly not easy. It took quite a while just to dismantle this door."

He turned to the police: "Control everyone, don't let a single person go..."

In an instant, several masked plainclothes officers rushed over and beat Liu Fuzhi and the others severely.

"How can you hit people... Ah... Help... The police are beating people."

"Who told you the police are beating people? This is clearly internal fighting among your staff due to poor management and uneven distribution of spoils!"

Xiao Bei rolled his eyes, staring at Liu Fuzhi, who was bruised, battered, and left in only his underpants, and continued: "Fighting adds to the crime. Add another charge and take them away."

The plainclothes officers retreated, and those in police uniforms finally took everyone away.

Su Yun ran to Xiao Bei's side: "Where is Team Leader Zhang Yining?"

"She's safe, she's outside." Xiao Bei quickly checked if she was injured: "Are you okay?"

Su Yun shook her head and took a micro-camera out of her clothes: "Everything was recorded, including Liu Fuzhi."

Xiao Bei let out a long sigh of relief and suddenly hugged her tightly: "Do you know I was scared to death!"

Su Yun was stunned for a moment, then hugged him back: "Aren't I perfectly fine?"

The police quickly secured the scene. Liu Fuzhi and those officials were escorted out, their faces ashen.

...

Su Yun suddenly felt a wave of dizziness. Xiao Bei's face before her eyes suddenly became blurry and then clear again. A surge of heat rushed up, burning her and leaving her mouth parched. She subconsciously grabbed Xiao Bei's collar, her fingers trembling uncontrollably.

"That glass of juice..." Su Yun said in a hoarse voice, "They drugged it..."

Xiao Bei's expression changed drastically, and he quickly looked around. In the club, the police were searching for evidence, and no one noticed them in the corner. Su Yun's body had already gone soft like a puddle of water, her whole person pressed against the wall behind her, her scorching hot breath spraying between the wall and her.

"Take me... away from here..." Su Yun said with difficulty, reason and the drug's effects warring fiercely in her mind.

Xiao Bei didn't say a word; he picked up Su Yun and walked quickly toward an empty lounge at the back of the club. The moment the door closed, it was as if the last shred of self-restraint had been drained from Su Yun, and her hands eagerly tugged at Xiao Bei's lapels.

"Su Yun, calm down!" Xiao Bei tried to rouse Su Yun and found ice in the lounge's ice bar to apply to Su Yun's forehead... Su Yun gradually calmed down.

Xiao Bei's string of reason was stretched to the limit. He took a deep breath and gently kissed her forehead.

...

A moment later, Su Yun's breathing gradually steadied. She leaned on Xiao Bei's shoulder, her voice as faint as a mosquito's buzz: "... I'm okay now..."

Xiao Bei chuckled: "I didn't expect our great reporter Su to have a side like this."

Su Yun punched him in embarrassment and annoyance, then immediately said seriously: "We need to go back; there are still many people who need help."

As the two prepared to leave the lounge, a faint sobbing sound came from the depths of the corridor. Su Yun and Xiao Bei looked at each other and followed the sound.
